Gameweek 2 Team! 88 points GW1! Time to see if this strategy really works!!! I’m gonna put #Elite64 and livefpl.net to the test when creating my GW2 team and transfer plan.
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM TIPS FOR 2019-20
FPL GW2 Team
🚨 FINAL CONFIRMED GW2 Team! 🚨
***UPDATE: Final team for GW2. No changes. Sticking with Salah captain, but it’s not ideal with 120 minutes midweek. Klopp said Salah and Mane were the least affected by the extra minutes, hopefully it means Salah will be ready physically. It helps that it’s only the second league game and not deep into the second half of the season when fatigue plays a bigger role. Good luck everyone!!! 👍💯 – Bruno
PREVIOUS NOTES: Same team as the video, only one decision to confirm – captain. Banking the free transfer to have 2FTs GW3 after watching another round of games. Reading up on all the press conferences before posting the final team which will be uploaded here before GW2 deadline.
This might be the blog format for the season: 1) Video early in the week shows the current team and transfer plan. 2) Blog has the latest team after catching up on the press conferences. 3) Blog has final confirmed team closer to deadline.
Thanks! – Bruno

Hi Bruno
Sagar here again..thanks for the previous response
There is something wrong with the price change predictors this season…I use fplstatistics.com and fiso…I was monitoring the price of martial, and in both it showed just 60%…however Martial’s price has risen….what do you recommend..any other sites? Footballfix.com is also very late to show the price rise

Hi Sagar. 60% and increase? Wow. I use fplstatistics.com and they usually do a good job of catching up to updates from the FPL website.
One positive with a more conservative transfer strategy is worrying less about price changes. Last season I rarely made an early transfer and it did not affect my Team Value which hovered around £108m for the last 10 Gameweeks.
But I am curious to know if there were changes to the price change algorithm.

93 Points for gw1. Happy with this score, just unhappy about martial price rising already !!! too many united fans in this game lol. i did bank 0.5 you think its time to jump on martial or rashford before any more price increases and pukki impressed at anfield maybe its time for him for king. other concerns are perez wasnt very involved in the shots and atempted assited category. im sure all fpl managers have similar questions . thanks in advance my team below if you interested.
Ryan/Button
Trent/Virgil/Digne/Zinchenko/Lundstorm.
Sterling/Salah/Moura/Perez/dendonker
Wilson/King/Greenwood.

Ola. That’s a fantastic score, 93pts! Yeah, I see that with Martial. Manchester United and Liverpool players are always fast movers in the transfer market after a good or bad game.
I can only speak for my team, so it’s up to you if you want to make changes. I’m sticking with the strategy from pre-season, which is to give Wilson and King a run with two green fixtures at the start. They were in great form pre-season, so no excuses GW2, they have to bounce back now.
I’m curious to see how United will do away at Wolves as they usually raise their game against the big teams. This also allows me to decide which United player or combination of players is the best option, and the 2FTs will provide more flexibility without damaging hits.
Team is set. 👍

Hi. That’s great to hear your confidence. The first Gameweek always brings some doubts.
No decision on captain yet, need to research and think. It’s the second game in the league, hard to imagine Salah being benched and risking dropping points early on. If Salah starts, he’s the top captain pick. I might place Sterling above Wilson, especially after GW1 performances.

Hi Bruno.
Usefull tips from you made my team score 99 points, with Tripple captain MoSalah.
I’m thinking alot of replacing King with Origi. The fabulous three in front of Liverpool had all many minutes in the super cup, and i think Origi will be used a lot as a joker and a alternative in front for rotation and small injuries. The Price change predictions has also Origi as a very good alternative to price increase. Do you think thats a vice move ? I’m also tempted to bring in one united player based on the first match, or a chelsea player based on the super cup. What do you think about that, and who do you suggest ?

Hi. Wow 99pts! Incredible start. 👍
Good point about Origi, he could become a crucial squad player this season. Yes, he has a great chance of starting GW2 because of the Super Cup. The question is whether he will get regular starts in the long-term.
Price changes have a lower weighting in my transfer strategy. Worrying less about price changes did not affect my Team Value last season, which hovered near £108m from GW27-GW38.
Other factors are that King also has a favorable fixture, and banking a free transfer or transfer hits.
I’m also tempted by United players after that game, but I would prefer to watch more games to be sure United are showing consistency. Not only consistency, but to be certain I’m buying the right player. That was your last question, “Who do you suggest?” I mentioned 6 United players on the video, now I want to narrow it down with information from GW2.
I prefer King for my own team. But that doesn’t mean you can’t follow your idea! I did exactly that with PVA instead of Zinchenko and it worked (so far!). Ultimately, it’s up to you. I get things wrong and make mistakes. I can tell you my approach, then you decide what makes sense and what you disagree with, or sometimes improve on.
Thank you for the comment with important questions. 👍

I am stuck on whether keeping Kane or transferring in Aguero for the long term?.Please share your view on this or maybe l should wait until end of GW2.

I would rate their scoring potential GW2 as even, assuming both start. But Aguero has real competition for starts with Gabriel Jesus, so Kane has a much lower risk of rotation.
GW2 is hard to predict for these two teams and players, but I might give a small edge to Kane. Might be more confident answering this question after watching them in action another game.

Hi Bruno. Between Ryan and Pickford, whose the most suitable GK to replace Lloris for GW2. Considering I’ve got Button on the bench and also I can’t transfer De gea in due to his price increase.
Upper 90 Studios
15/08/19
Hi. That’s a difficult decision. As far as fixtures, both have favorable fixtures in the next two games, then Pickford has an edge more long-term.
Hard to tell from just one game, what if that was a one-off performance?
You should be ok with either, but I can’t choose one at this moment because I don’t know who will step up from here. 🙂

Hi bruno. I’m not going to make any transfer yet and keeping faith in my selection even though some of them have disappoints me… My qstion is should i have 3 Bournemouth player for gw2… I have king fraser and ake… Or should i swap ake to kelly?.. And should i remain patience with jota??…

Hi. Same here. Disappointed with certain players, but staying patient. It was the first game of the season.
Difficult question with 3x Bournemouth. I might give them the green fixture GW2, then if needed, attack the problem with 2 free transfers GW3.
Jota looked dangerous in terms of FPL, the only thing missing was his finishing. GW2 is tricky vs. United, but Wolves can raise their game against the better clubs. I might give him at least one more game.
Great questions, those are my thoughts and it’s up to you to decide. 👍

Hi Bruno,
Cheers for the video, liked and subscribed!
What do you think about the price rise (esp with Martial and Rashford) as we are effectively priced out by 0.1 which would mean “0.4” wasted as I cant do anything with it. Gutted as I cant do 7.5 to Martial anymore and any transfer would mean a waste of the 0.4. What are your thoughts?
In addition, if they perform will again, I will expect them to rise again and may be forced to take them and incur the 0.4 lost. There is also a risk where my TV will be low if I dont chase price. Please share your thoughts on these situations Bruno! Cheers

Hi. Glad to hear that, thanks! 👍
Don’t worry about the early bandwagons and price changes. If your players are performing, and you’re making good transfers, your Team Value will increase naturally.
Last season I rarely if ever made an early transfer, and it did not affect my Team Value which hovered near £108m from GW27-GW38. Watching the midweek games and hearing the press conferences might’ve been worth the £0.1m in many cases.
Does chasing price changes mean a blank for Martial forces us to sell him next week? Real issues with our squads might begin to surface, but now we’re using up transfers on players based on the transfer market, instead of addressing priorities.
My plan with Martial and all United players is that I want to see some consistency. Wolves away next is a challenge and Nuno rested his best players in the Europa League in preparation.
I can’t be gutted about their price rise before they play. After they score again this weekend, then I can cry. 🙂 But I may not even want their players next week, and that’s the real reason I’m not too worried about prices.
We never know, maybe the limitation that their price rise forces on our team could actually help see an option we hadn’t considered. See it as an opportunity instead of a limitation.
Thanks for the great question. 👍

An interesting development and to consider for the watchlist:
Deulofeu on his new role. “We spoke with the manager at the beginning of the season. He said to me that I was going to play as a striker. I had been thinking that I wanted to play as a striker because you are nearer to the goal and you have more chances to score.” #watfordfc

Nice one. Deulofeu as a striker could increase his scoring potential. It’s not like he defends anyway! 🙂

Hi Bruno,
Great video and my go-to fpl channel now. I have been wondering who to give captaincy in my squad. Salah and De Bruyne are who i am pivoting on, Kane maybe but he has a less than desirable record against City.
Obvious pros for Salah is his good record against Southampton, bagging 4 goals in both fixtures last season as well as playing 90mins. His supercup app is what bothers me as following his 12 midweek fixtures, he’s had six attacking returns and six blanks.
I am considering De Bruyne as a differential but unsure whether he will bring in a large haul due to Spurs’ improved midfield causing a threat. What are your thoughts on this?
Upper 90 Studios
16/08/19
Hi. Thanks, always great to hear. 👍 I agree with your thoughts on Salah and other captaincy options. I didn’t like seeing the 120min not only for Salah, but also other key Liverpool players.
It’s hard to imagine Klopp benching Salah in the second league game and risking dropping points to Manchester City.
Salah is in such incredible condition that he should be ok physically. If it was later in season, then fatigue would play a more important role and I might reduce the risk of limited minutes.
Not easy to predict Man City vs. Tottenham. Both managers won their first game and could settle for a point. Or they could go for it? KDB can raise his game against the bigger sides, so I can see your reasoning.
I can imagine Liverpool going for it to get another big result, especially after seeing that Southampton conceded 3 goals vs. Burnley.
Nothing final yet, still thinking. For now, I have it on Salah.
