🚨 CONFIRMED! Final GW1 team! 🚨
***UPDATE: I’ve selected van Aanholt in the final spot for Zinchenko. One factor is to reduce the risk of rotation. He was also in my first draft, so it feels right. Zaha stayed at Crystal Palace which increases their attack potential, and PVA is the defender I trust most in the £5.5m price range:
- Top points scorer last season
- Second most clean sheets (12)
- Second in bonus points (17)
PREVIOUS NOTES: Reading up on all the press conferences before posting the final team. Zinchenko will not make my final team. Zinchenko should be ok to start GW1, but I don’t know Guardiola’s plans for his fullbacks after signing Cancelo. I will most likely keep the same team structure with Perez.

Lineups out. TAA starting. Gomez in at cb with VVD. Does this change your stance on the whole TAA vs VVD situation or are u confident in your prediction that VVD will still get the edge due to game time throughout the season

TAA has a higher points ceiling than VVD and should start most games.
VVD does allow for improvements in other areas, so it’s not a straight up battle between TAA and VVD. It’s the best combo that wins.
I’m also open to bouncing between them if needed. 👍

Guy slipped on some dew it seems lol, so happy I didn’t jump on him for my goalie I probably would have a few years ago. Things can change so quickly, an injury to anyone could flip the whole game upside down. Just for peace of mind, TAA assist was nice and I knew going in he takes set pieces and creates a lot of chances on crosses as per the data. However, I should be patient and not abandon ship on Robertson so quick right, I mean I could transfer him now before his price increases but then that messes with my whole plan in the beginning 3 weeks. Because I know myself I’ll swith him and then next game he goes off with two assists, so stay patient right?

It’s really unfortunate for Alisson and his owners, I feel sorry for them and hope he’s ok. The only Liverpool player to consider selling is Alisson, and I would watch more games before buying a replacement.

Luckily I stuck with Pickford so I don’t have to worry about that, definitely need to stay patient and can’t jump to TAA just yet from Robertson, gonna stick to my plan to sub vardy for rashford In week 2 to beat up on my tired wolves before I jump on jota in gw 3, however jota seems to be in real form rn n scares me that I’m over thinking the minimal rest they will have for the first two game weeks, but I guess it’s the prem and these guys r the best and anyone can show up at anytime like son did after being tired from the Asia cup n still scored for spurs

do you think its worth it to go -4 to take out van dijk for a 5.5def and replace ryan with adrian? alisson injury doesnt look good and a calf pop could be an achilles tear. to make a wilson -> auba, or a perez -> son gw 3?

What I tell yah!! Pep never starts Bernardo Silva against against west ham, he always plays Mahrez, feel like I dodged a rotation bullet there, I feel like everyone thinking what I’m thinking rn, 5.5 for rodrigo is a steal but idk now much influence he will have on the offense, time will tell

Good question. Hard to tell. Burnley had such a deep defensive line that it was difficult for Southampton to break. Liverpool on the other hand left pockets of space in behind which Pukki exploited.
Since Newcastle (Pukki’s next opponent) play today against Arsenal, I’d say to keep an eye on their defensive line for clues.
At this very moment, maybe an edge to Pukki, but it was only one game. Need more games to have more info on home vs. away strategies and more.
