🚨 CONFIRMED! Final GW1 team! 🚨
***UPDATE: I’ve selected van Aanholt in the final spot for Zinchenko. One factor is to reduce the risk of rotation. He was also in my first draft, so it feels right. Zaha stayed at Crystal Palace which increases their attack potential, and PVA is the defender I trust most in the £5.5m price range:
- Top points scorer last season
- Second most clean sheets (12)
- Second in bonus points (17)
PREVIOUS NOTES: Reading up on all the press conferences before posting the final team. Zinchenko will not make my final team. Zinchenko should be ok to start GW1, but I don’t know Guardiola’s plans for his fullbacks after signing Cancelo. I will most likely keep the same team structure with Perez.

Hey Bruno! Just started watching your videos and I’m really impressed. The explanations for the logic behind your choices were really helpful!
I made a bunch of changes based on the last couple friendlies/transfers that happened and funnily enough my team almost completely matched yours and a lot of our logic was the same haha:
GK: Ryan, Button
DEF: Robbo, VVD, Digne, Van Aanholt, Kelly
MID: Salah, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Perez, Dendoncker
ATT: Wilson, King, Greenwood
I’ve been debating between zinchenko and van aanholt because palace’s defense seems weaker with no reinforcements but Cahill while Zinchenko’s place can’t really be guaranteed esp with Cancelo coming in. I also feel like he lacks the attacking threat of PVA.
For Wilson, I really want to get Jimenez because Wolves look terrifying this year. At the same time though Bournemouth have some great fixtures.
Lastly, I was wondering if I should swap Ryan for Fabianski after GW1/2. It would avoid having city play against my GKs for the first half of the season and Fabianski would be more reliable for the rest of the season (but I would have to sacrifice one of my other players, prob wilson or PVA, for the extra 0.5). Any thoughts?

Excellent reasoning with the defenders and forwards. Wolves look great, but there is a small doubt with Europa League as their opponents get stronger and what it means for rotation. Wish their fixtures were a little better also.
Yes, we’ll have to keep an eye on the GKs. It’s hard to predict which team will stand out defensively until we watch them for a few games. I will share my team as soon as I finish reading all the info from the press conferences, but your tweak at the back is spot on.

Trying to win the money in my league this year, I realize that everyone is only speculating since no one really knows the outcomes but any feedback would be appreciated.
Running a 3-5-2 right now and all caps r my starting 11
PICKFORD and button (fixtures are too good, solid def and overall solid looking team this season, with opening fixtures, sidibe signing, i feel some saves and clean sheets coming in the opening 5 games)
VVD, ROBERTSON, DIGNE, lundstram and kelly (Digne potential and creativity to score and assist makes him to valuable on evertons opening fixtures, robertson and vvd i think goes without saying i feel insane not taking them, maybe vvd i can get away with letting go but he so dominant and starting every game so hard to let him go his value only gonna go up, cant see liverpool letting up many goals)
SALAH, STERLING, FRASER, PEREZ, DENDONCKER (trying to utilize the midfield as much as possible this year and dial down the forwards a bit, salah and sterling have to be a safety net, everyone has them and cant miss out on the points, if not game week 1 they will produce at some point naturally, fraser creates a lot of chances and seems to be the core that feeds the offense for wilson and king, i like siggurd on everton and hard to not take him with fixtures and takes penalties and plays like a true 10, if i opt to take siggurd over fraser i have to take out perez who i think with vardy and maddison and tiels could do some real damage especially off a tired wolves on 2 days rest virtually, and id put in tossard from brighton, seems like could be a sleeper winger there and they also have good fixtures, i feel like if people chancing on ryan in goal then shit tossard aint that big a gamble.
KING, VARDY, greenwood ( king loves home games and covers me on the bourn end a little, vardy i think the best value striker out there rn and has a solid supporting cast, im thinking once wolves get out of the europa qual i switch in jota for king.

Excellent reasoning for the GK and DEF. Of course there’s a small risk of going with no guaranteed regulars to cover your starting defenders. But it could work well. I might be going with one £4m instead of two.
Perfect midfielders, again couldn’t agree more.
Quality forwards and escape plan in case things go wrong.

Awesome content as always. I have a very similar team as yours but i am little hesitant on doubling up on liverpool defense early in the season. What do you think? I downgraded Van Dijk to Wan bissaka and upgraded Perez to Moura. With signing of maguire, would you fancy United getting more clean sheets? Below is my team. Let me know your thoughts

Hi. Thank you. It’s ok to double up on Liverpool defenders because that’s where we find the most value in the beginning of the season. Wish we could go with double LFC attackers, put their prices don’t allow it while having all the other players we need.
Great point with United and Maguire. It should improve them, but I may still prefer to watch them a few games before deciding.
Your team is set, just a small note on Zinchenko who should be ok for GW1, but they signed Cancelo from Juventus and I don’t know what Guardiola has in mind for rotation. Walker and Cancelo are top players.

I may go a different route with the Zinchenko replacement. I’m aiming at zero risk of rotation. KWP is still young and Pochettino has a history of rotating his fullbacks.
It’s a tie between Moura and Perez. I may go with Perez because it allows upgrades in other areas, but either can work.
Wish I could squeeze in a premium striker, but I can’t make it happen with Salah and Sterling while maintaining a strong team balance.

I like it overall. I don’t know much about Che Adams and can’t give the best assessment on him just yet. Need a few games to really feel it out.
You have no main concerns. Small honest notes are that I might prefer a bump from Coleman to Digne, but that’s not because Coleman is a poor choice. He’s one of my favorite players and finished the season in excellent form. It’s because Digne is also great for FPL but he will have high ownership with strong FPL managers.
No easy way to make a change. I just updated the team image at the top of the post to show where I stand.
Your team is already set, just a small note in case you come across another draft in your plans.

Top team overall, especially to squeeze the 3 premium attackers. Of course it requires a cut or two and that’s at the back. But how you’ve done is the way I would approach it.
Pereyra can be such a good pick, I’m just worried he may not start GW1 because he hasn’t had much training since the Copa America. Don’t think he featured in any games this pre-season. If he was guaranteed to start, I would feel more confident since he and Watford usually start the season hot.
Either way, your team is super close. Another option could be adding a Bournemouth attacker like King, but it’s up to you because Wolves are also killing it in pre-season.

Just wanted to ask about the final team reveal. I’ve been checking non stop and the dead line is today 😱 I have most of the players you suggested. The core is set, just want to double check on the best alternatives to start with, I really want to keep de bruyne as I initially did, but I took him out in fear of missing out on other options with different fixtures.
