Gameweek 1 team revealed! This GW1 team is going to be a tough one to beat, but if I make any changes, you will know exactly where to see them.
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM TIPS FOR 2019-20
FPL GW1 Team
🚨 CONFIRMED! Final GW1 team! 🚨
***UPDATE: I’ve selected van Aanholt in the final spot for Zinchenko. One factor is to reduce the risk of rotation. He was also in my first draft, so it feels right. Zaha stayed at Crystal Palace which increases their attack potential, and PVA is the defender I trust most in the £5.5m price range:
- Top points scorer last season
- Second most clean sheets (12)
- Second in bonus points (17)
PREVIOUS NOTES: Reading up on all the press conferences before posting the final team. Zinchenko will not make my final team. Zinchenko should be ok to start GW1, but I don’t know Guardiola’s plans for his fullbacks after signing Cancelo. I will most likely keep the same team structure with Perez.
I will reply to as many comments as I can and it will be quicker than usual. Thanks! – Bruno

Hi Bruno
Another awesome video(love the intro) and great song- you good at this!.
I like the look of your team, mine is similar- I’m just debating Ryan vs Pope, Perez & Zinchenco as some minor reassessing (I don’t want to overthink it though!).
I’m not sure Cancelo(right back), will be competing directly with Zinchenco(left back).Refer below, but with Pep you never know.
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-signed-joao-cancelo-16710379
PS: Some interesting late signings- Iwobi to Everton, David Luiz to Arsenal, Lo Celso to Spurs, Drinkwater to Bunley (noone to Man U!).
Keep up all the good professional videos and blog work- we all truly appreciate it.

Hi. Thanks! Glad you like the video and song. 👍
Same here, Ryan vs. Pope, although I might go with the slightly better Brighton starting fixtures until GW5.
That’s great information with Cancelo. I understand he also played left back for Juventus. I’m just curious why Pep would want two quality right backs Walker + Cancelo and no reliable left backs Zinchenko + Mendy. Not reliable for different reasons.
Yes, saw that with Iwobi. Excellent news for Siggy and Everton’s attack. Luiz is another one to think about. Don’t know Lo Celso very well, but seems promising. United, yes important news with no late signings.
Thanks for the comment and tips.

Hi Bruno,
Back again this year, as you continue to be my favorit to follow. Hope you keep it up throughout the season!
Funny how my draft looks close to yours even before seeing your vids, you might have influenced me too much throughout the years!
My draft is currently
Ryan
Rob – TAA – Digne – Zin
Salah – Sterling – Siggy – Barkley
Wilson – King
Bench: Button, Lundstram, Dendoncker, Greenwood
My biggest doubt is zinchenko… I believe he will play first match, but there is where my confident ends. Not sure from here on out.
Also got Barkley, whom i do like this year, but having 2 potential rotation risks might not be clever with this weak bench.
Did play a bit and came up with a potential template change (less rotation risk), and it would be great if you would weigh in your thoughts (or suggest alternative?):
Zin + TAA + Dendoncker -> 4m + VVD + Perez
Ryan
Rob – VVD – Digne
Salah – Sterling – Siggy – Perez – Barkley
Wilson – King
Bench: Button, Lundstram, (Kelly?), Greenwood
Point potential approx the same, maybe even a bit higher? Just cant decide as i prefer 4-4-2…
Thanks in advance!

Hmmm
Using footballscout member projections i get this:
Point potential (estimate)
GW1 – GW1-6
TAA 6 – 30.1
Zin 3.9 – 23.3
VVD 5.3 – 26.8
Perez 3.7 – 20.6
Seems Zin and TAA potential is higher, if they play…

Right. The question is whether the higher points potential is worth the risk of the odd bench appearance.
I might avoid that stress altogether at the start of this season.

Hi. Appreciate you coming back! That’s funny when setting your team.
Excellent team, already can’t go wrong for GW1. I agree with the concern – Zinchenko. It just doesn’t make sense to have two top quality right backs and no proper cover at left back. Unless Guardiola is planning on using Cancelo in rotation with Zinchenko and Mendy if/when he returns from his issues.
Barkley is a calculated risk that can work. You’re taking info from pre-season and finding the best balance to the team. I also liked Roberto Pereyra for the fixtures and their usual fast start to the season. But Pereyra might not start, so that’s a risk…
My most recent draft is a 4-4-2 with VVD in for TAA and trying different ideas for Zinchenko. A combination of your teams using Perez and Dendoncker on the bench.
I don’t have a final answer yet and we have super similar teams, so we’re on the same boat. Once I settle on the best compromise, I’ll post it here on this blog post. If you have a final decision, please feel free share it as well.

Hey Bruno.
What do you think of Moise Kean
Upper 90 Studios
08/08/19
Hey. Excellent player. Super composed for his age.
The concern is the unknowns with players coming to a new league. Sometimes it takes time to adjust and it’s not just the playing style or teammates, or new manager. It could be missing his family or a problem buying a new house, what happens behind the scenes.
I can remember last season Felipe Anderson and Jota turned into quality FPL players. But Anderson barely made it to 60min GW1 and Jota was subbed at halftime GW2. For this reason, I will probably watch Kean for a few games, Everton’s attack looks promising, then decide with all the info.

Should be good. The team is strong overall. Quick note on Zinchenko as they signed fullback Cancelo from Juventus. Zinchenko should be ok at the start, but I don’t know what this means for the future and rotation in the wide positions.
Everyone else is excellent. 👍

Hi Bruno
Great Videos and Music.
Would appreciate your thoughts on my selection which is very similiar to yours
Ryan
Robertson/VVD/Digne/Ake
Salah/Sterling/Sig/Milivojevic
Wilson/King
I have ake in order to have Milivo in MF as he takes the pks for CP and with VAR who knows what might occur GW1. But I am concerned there is too many bourne players in the team.
So i can ditch Ake and bring in Zinch and bring Perez for milivo or
I keep Ake and Milivo and instead ditch King and bring in Jota.
Appreciate your thoughts

Hi. Thanks, amazing to hear that. 👍
Zaha seems to have stayed. That’s a positive for Milivojevic, assuming Zaha is professional and does his work despite not getting the move he wanted.
GW3 will need planning for Ake because they face Man City. I like the idea of Perez in for Mili in order to upgrade Ake. The problem is Zinchenko suddenly became a concern as they signed fullback Cancelo from Juventus. they signed him while I was recording the video, but once someone alerted me, I’ve since reconsidered Zinchenko. He should still start the first few games, but I’m looking at other options in his price range now.
In my case, I don’t think I will go lower in price with the defender to Ake. I might stick to a £5.5m or a change in formation. But the straight swap is starting to feel more straightforward.

Hi Bruno,
What your thoughts on my team at this stage
Ryan
Robertson Alderweireld Zinchenko Ake
Salah (C) Bernardo Silva Perez Fraser
Kane Vardy

Hi. Excellent. Just a quick note on Zinchenko as City signed fullback Cancelo from Juventus. Zinchenko should be ok to start the season, but I don’t know Guardiola’s plans for his fullbacks.
Other picks are set. Another option would be to move for Sterling instead of Kane, but that means cutting Vardy to Wilson which starts digging into your structure and ideas.
It’s a strong team. 👍

I actually took Sterling out to get Kane in and take King out. Hoping that bringing in Bernado Silva, who was one if my favourites last year, still gives me that City cover and a few assists. Also felt I was a bit light weight up top. like the balance of this side.

We can all get there with different combinations. Team balance is important. Good luck!

Please tell me what you think about my team…..

GK+DEF are ok overall. I prefer Digne over Coleman, so this might be a decision between rotating GKs or Digne vs. Coleman. Up to you!
Don’t know the impact of the new Man City fullback Cancelo from Juventus. Zinchenko should be ok initially, but it’s hard to tell what Guardiola is thinking. Could work with your idea of using him as a short-term gamble.
Midfielders and forwards are strong.
Quality team overall. Wood captain is pretty brave, I wish you the best of luck and big green arrows. 👍

Hey Bruno,
First time playing and intend to follow you all year. What’s the beat place to monitor any changes you intend to make with your team? Comments here, YouTube, or Twitter? Hoping to see what you do with Zinchenko and change him out of my team as well.
Thanks bud.

Hey, welcome. The best place is on the latest blog post and its comments section. Basically right here. I will update the post with my final team as soon as I read all the information from the press conferences.
I’m also certain I’m dropping Zinchenko.
