Gameweek 3 Team! 47 points GW2 (AVG:41PTS). What have I done? I used the early Wildcard after just two games! Was it a big mistake? See what I was thinking before I smashed that big red button for GW3.

FPL GW3 Team
๐จ Final GW3 Wildcard Team! ๐จ
***UPDATE: This is it. I’m experimenting with a new Wildcard strategy – to keep a sizeable amount of money in the bank. Normally, I would maximize the squad strength by using all the funds. If everything goes well, I can improve the squad depth or make small corrections. If it goes wrong, I can use the money to counter Wildcards GW4. I do not recomment this “all-star” bench for anyone. ๐ It’s a massive risk GW3. If Digne is out, I could be down a player. Trying something new, good luck everyone!!!
I will get to the comments as soon as I can. Thanks!ย ๐๐ฏ – Bruno
Previous updates:
*Provisional GW3 Wildcard team. Waiting on the last press conferences before confirming these players. Salah returns to the squad in place of KDB. Maguire and Martial also come in.
*The questions about the bench… sorry about that! ๐ I don’t have one, I’m going with the cheapest bench players. This frees up the maximum ITB funds to match up against Wildcards GW4. Super risky, never really tried this before on an early Wildcard. Digne might not even play which could leave me a player short GW3.
*I am keeping an eye on price changes here: http://fplstatistics.com/ I may swap out some of the players in my team temporarily by staying up-to-date on the price changes. For example, I’ve brought in KDB for Salah, but I will likely have Salah in my team by deadline.
*Lucas Digne looks to be back in training.
*We also need an update on Lucas Digne who was forced off with a hamstring injury.

I may opt for both, so it’s not easy to choose one, sorry!

Hey Bruno! ๐๐ป
If you had to make a pick between McGinn or Ceballos considering their past performances, potentials and upcoming fixtures, whom would definitely make it to your squad?
Appreciate your comments..
Cheers mate ๐๐ป

Hey. Difficult choice. I’ve been thinking of going for a gamble with Ceballos. It could turn into a long-term option if he delivers. But McGinn could be safer in the long-run. Still deciding. ๐

do i go McGinn or Martial or do i go with 3 up front (but only play 2 and have rotating fwds pending fixtures)? if i go go 3 fwds id have king as my 3rd fwd

It’s hard to tell without seeing the whole team. But I might say two starting forwards seems reasonable at this moment. You could draft in a cheap forward in the final spot, then see if you can upgrade other areas.

Wildcard team at moment Ryan Coleman dunk awb Pieters lundstram
Sterling Maddison Dendoncker cantwell Kdb
Kane rashford firmino. Is this high risk idea for wildcard
Upper 90 Studios

The only note might to draw up another team with more strength at the back. Digne is a top defender pick.
The problem is it won’t be easy to make a cut with your strong attackers. I’d hate to choose someone to cut because they have good scoring potential.

Hi, I have activated my WC, but not sure I catched any price rise. First time playing this game so did not know you could do that. For another time would it be better to activate the WC just after deadline in a GW?
Upper 90 Studios
22/08/19
It depends. I’ve activated the Wildcard closer to deadline and it still worked well. Price changes aren’t the only reason.
For the most part, yes, I prefer to activate it early after most of my players have already played. For example, GW3 is a little different as ther eis only one game on the first day, Friday. I might wait until saturday to be sure I’m making the right decision.
You can keep an eye on price changes here: http://fplstatistics.com/

Hey Bruno
Love the content and appreciate how much work you put into it, just wanted to get your opinion on my team. i still expect myself to change some players here and there but i would love to get your thoughts, i used the wildcard btw.
ryan/pope
vvd,soyuncu,digne,awb(lundstrum)
kdb,mane,sterling(cantwell,dendonker)
barnes,pukki,rashford
+0.3
im unsure with rash, barnes and soyuncu, but rash should be taking pens after pogbas nightmare and he has good fixtures, barnes is in good form and only has 1 top 6 opponent in his next 7 and soyuncu should provide a chance for 2 clean sheets in the next 2 games as they are quite easy. the rest of the team seems pretty mainstream besides me having mane for salah, but i see them both returning similar points and id rather save 1 mill with mane
i am however thinking of transfering out barnes for a 4.5 forward and getting ceballos and mcginn for cantwell and dendonker and rotating between the 2, but im not sure if they will continue with their goal+assist output, whereas barnes seems nailed on for about 15 goals this season
thanks man

Hey. No problem, glad to help. ๐
Strong team. Not seeing an easy way to improve it. I might prefer this over the rotating mids option.

Hi Bruno, need your advice really stuck on a couple of variations with my wildcard hereโs my team atm.
Ryan, wan bissaka, pieters, digne
Mane, mount, KDB, sterling, martial, firmino, pukki
BUT Iโm thinking of maybe swapping firmino for Rashford and upgrading Pieters by bringing zinchenko in.
Or I could also have Rashford for bobby and swap martial for trossard and replace pieters with Trent Arnold. So Iโm not over reliant on uniteds attack and include pool defender
My thoughts with swapping bobby for Rashford is that Rashford could pull a similar points tally as bobby in the long run and upgrade defence… or go with bobby whoโs an absolute nightmare for Arsenal.
Which variation would you go for or would you stick with current team? Obviously open to your ideas as well ๐ก
Feedback would be appreciated itโs a tough call
Thanks for response on my 1st draft btw
Cheers ๐

Hi. No problem. Not sure about Zinchenko after seeing that Mendy has returned to training.
Martial’s price is a positive over Rashford. He also played central last game, in all the dangerous areas. Rahsford was wider out on the left. That doesn’t mean Rashford doesn’t have good potential though! ๐
The only note is to check that the defense has enough strength, but I can see your idea with Pieters.
Thank you for the comment. ๐

Hi Bruno!
What do u think of this wildcard squad?
Adrian (Button)
Wan Bissaka Walker Peters Pieters Yerry Mina (Lundstram)
Son Salah Sterling De bruyne Cantwell
Firmino (Wickham,Greenwood)
Upper 90 Studios
22/08/19
Hi! I would need to think about Adrian as there will be a 2-week international break soon to give Alisson time to recover.
Everton defensive cover can work. I prefer Digne, but prices are a factor. Pochettino can sometimes rotate his fullbacks, so be cautious with KWP.
The attack is strong. ๐
Just the notes at the back to potentially look at alternatives, but it’s up to you. If those players keep their place, it could work well.

Loving the vids bruno, really helpful as it’s my first FPL. Loving your insight so far. I’m thinking of using my wildcard this week, any tips on the team??
What I’m thinking is:
GK: Pope
Def: Lundstram, Digne, Dunk, Boly
Mid: KDB, Mane, Sterling, Martial
FW: Pukki, Kane
Subs are: Button, Kelly, Dendoncker, Greenwood.
A double liverpool def, and a bournemouth trio attack just not delivering so looking to upgrade.

Great, nice to hear that. ๐
Strong team. Maybe the defense is the weaker area. I might aim at Wan-Bissaka or possibly van Dijk as protection against strong FPL managers who may still have 2x Liverpool defenders. Don’t think they will be on a Wildcard.
I’m aiming at bringing back Salah before deadline, but I know it’s not easy with his price vs. Mane. I will likely have both.
Can understand your reasoning with recent performances, so it’s up to you! ๐

I also have KDB, reason to go back to Salah? KDB seems like he’s on a tear now.

Good point. Salah can score a hat-trick of goals. KDB can score a hat-trick of assists.
