FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM TIPS FOR 2019-20
FPL GW3 Team
🚨 Final GW3 Wildcard Team! 🚨
***UPDATE: This is it. I’m experimenting with a new Wildcard strategy – to keep a sizeable amount of money in the bank. Normally, I would maximize the squad strength by using all the funds. If everything goes well, I can improve the squad depth or make small corrections. If it goes wrong, I can use the money to counter Wildcards GW4. I do not recomment this “all-star” bench for anyone. 🙂 It’s a massive risk GW3. If Digne is out, I could be down a player. Trying something new, good luck everyone!!!
I will get to the comments as soon as I can. Thanks! 👍💯 – Bruno
Previous updates:
*Provisional GW3 Wildcard team. Waiting on the last press conferences before confirming these players. Salah returns to the squad in place of KDB. Maguire and Martial also come in.
*The questions about the bench… sorry about that! 🙂 I don’t have one, I’m going with the cheapest bench players. This frees up the maximum ITB funds to match up against Wildcards GW4. Super risky, never really tried this before on an early Wildcard. Digne might not even play which could leave me a player short GW3.
*I am keeping an eye on price changes here: http://fplstatistics.com/ I may swap out some of the players in my team temporarily by staying up-to-date on the price changes. For example, I’ve brought in KDB for Salah, but I will likely have Salah in my team by deadline.
*Lucas Digne looks to be back in training.
*We also need an update on Lucas Digne who was forced off with a hamstring injury.

So here’s my team any suggestions?
GK Pickford (Button)
DEF Dunk, Wan B, Digne, Kelly ( Lundstram)
MID KDB,Martial, Ceballos, Sterling (Douglad Luiz)
FWD Kane, Auba (Wickham)
Thanks

Between Kelly and Lundstram to start.
Excellent team. The only main note might be to consider another draft with a Liverpool attacker like Salah or Mane, but that is up to you because your team is strong.

Hi Bruno! Love your vids!
Im plankning to activate My wildcard next week. What do u think of this 4-5-1?
Adrian or Ryan in goal (Button)
Wan Bissaka Digne Zinchenko (or Mendy) And which 4.5 december do u think is the best here? El mohamady, pieters?
Midfield: sterling Salah Mane de bruyne cantwell
Forwards: Pukki (wickham) (Greenwood)
Do you think it is a good and balanced team with the most of the money in midfield but i think it is worth it.

Hi. Thanks! Do you mean Man City’s Mendy? I don’t know if he is ready to play, so I would need to research it. Even if he was back, I might still be careful in case Pep rotates the fullback position. If Mendy is back, that adds a rotation risk with Zinchenko.
£4.5m possibly Dunk, Soyuncu, Pieters. Dunk not the easiest with Ryan GW4. Do you have Lundstram? You might have left out a few squad players.
I’ve been playing with this formation as well. One concern is it puts a lot of pressure on attacking players from the same teams. For example, if Norwich struggle to score, that’s two starters who blanked. Similar issue with Liverpool and Man City, although in their case, it’s more likely that they will score!
So it’s up to you whether to go beast mode in midfield which could work, or drop one of them for a medium-priced option from a different team with more team depth.
If you’re feeling this idea, keep it! 🙂

Hi there bruno, love the content, brilliant advice as always.
I am currently torn between mane and KDB, both have an incredibly high points ceiling therefore I am unsure which of the two premium players to put in my fpl squad. Your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi. Thank you. You can’t go wrong with either one.
I know Mane will never be asked to help out in a more team defensive role. I don’t know if that could still happen with De Bruyne depending on what Guardiola is thinking. Pep has some wild ideas.
Nightmare decision. 🤔

Hi Bruno… loving this… I pushed that red button too… similar thoughts to yours… what you think
Ryan (Button)

Sterling [C], KDB [VC], Martial, Son, Mane
Pukki, Barnes (Greenwood)

Hi. Nice one. Can understand your idea with Mina, but I’m thinking of Digne if he is fully-fit, and he seems to be back in training.
The only suggestion could be whether to go with Barnes, or just the lone forward Pukki. Then shift in Digne and other upgrades you can think of.

Hey Bruno,
Thank you for the time you put into this. Answering every comment. It’s amazing!
How would you rate this team
(3-5-2)
Ryan
Dunk, V.Dijk, Digne
Salah,Mane, KDB, cantwell, sterling
Pukki, andone
Reserves: kelly, reid, xande
Squad value 100.3
Thanks man!

Hey. No problem, glad to help. 👍
Maybe Wickham for Xande Silva? Can you shift in Lundstram on the bench?
The positives are amazing. Good defense core, and 4 premium mids that are nearly impossible to beat 🔥
The concerns are it requires a closer look GW4 with 3x Brighton vs. Man City. It also puts pressure on Norwich’s attack to deliver. If they have an off-day, that’s two blanks straight away. The positive way to think of it is they are capable of scoring goals, so it’s not a bad idea to invest on multiple attackers from teams that are scoring. We just have less info on Norwich in the PL when compared to teams like LFC and MCI.
Plus the bench feels light.
I would be afraid of facing your team GW3, it’s super strong. But on a Wildcard, you can also consider other factors like having no bench cover, or reducing risks by having fewer players from the same team.
One alternative could have 3 premium mids and one mid-high-priced mid. That could allow a move for Wan-Bissaka and/or
Lundstram. I wouldn’t be able to make a suggestion on the premium player to cut easily, because they’re all so strong!
Keep your current team as a strong one to compare future ones to.

Hi. Great to hear that, thanks. 👍
I like it. I might’ve approached GW3 the same way had I not used the Wildcard.
Great replacements, right side of price changes.

Hey Bruno,
Love the content. Hopefully you continue with the videos. I hope you can help me out with my team. Went with the WC this week as i did not feel confident with my team. Went heavy on the midfield this time as I do not really trust the forwards this year. So far I am at 146 pts after 2 weeks and first place in my league. My direct competitors are breathing down my neck and would like your opinion. I did have a similar team as you first couple weeks with a different players. Thanks again and keep the content flowing.

Hey. Thank you. It’s super early. We will have way more ups and downs, so don’t worry about the rank yet. Wait until the Double Gameweeks later in the season… opportunities for big swings in the Overall Rank.
Liking this idea. Mendy has returned to training and there is a 2-week international break coming soon. You could keep Zinchenko for GW3, but keep that in mind for the future.
With a different option in Zinchenko’s place, you could potentially bump up one of your weaker mids.
My only note is to play with those two spots to finalize the team. But it’s not required because it’s already strong and ready for GW3.

Hello Bruno,
First time FPL player here and I appreciate the content that you’ve put up, gives me some good insights on the game.
GW2 was super tough for me (and most?), I was stuck and a tad frustrated with players such as Zaha, Jota, Perez and Jimenez. After exploring various transfer options, I was still not fully happy and I stumbled onto your video. Not the easiest to decision to make but I’ve decided to take a gamble and hit the WC button.
I am applying some suggestions you made and retaining some of my existing players. Do let me know what you think of my new line up:
GK: De Gea, Pope
DEF: Wan-Bissaka, Digne, Lundstram, Dunk, Kelly
MID: McGinn, KDB, Sterling, Mane, Cantwell
FWD: Pukki, Kane, Greenwood
Thanks

Hello. That’s always great to hear. 👍
I expected all the players you listed to have delivered returns GW2. Sometimes there are things we can’t control.
Excellent team. You could consider going with just one starting GK to see if it allows an improvement on defense, but it’s not required. For example, if for some reason Kelly loses his place as a starter, you might be forced to start Dunk against Manchester City (unless you transfer him out?)
I would be afraid of playing head-to-head against your team GW3. Great work.

Kia ora Bruno
Have broken away from my emotional attachment to Vardy, played wildcard & revamped team. Really pleased to have managed to fit in Pukki, Auba, Sterling, Mane &KDB. As a newish FPL player (2nd season) I have a question for you about this week’s selection when players go up against each other – and if one gets points the other suffers (eg VVD vs Auba) – what to do? My team is below and has the direct clash of VVD/Auba, as well as minor clash of Pereira/Lundstrom.
Thoughts? I could bench one of these defenders and go for Dendoncker instead….or I could swap Auba for Kane. Any insights appreciated.
GW3 Team:
Ryan (Heaton)
VVD, Pereira, Lundstrom, Zinchenko (Kelly)
KDB, Sterling (C), Mane, Cantwell (Dendoncker)
Pukki, Aubameyang (Greenwood)
Cheers Davina

Hi Davina. It’s not the most ideal situation when two players play against each other. But it also doesn’t mean it won’t work out. For instance, VVD is a threat in the air from set pieces. If he scores, that offsets a goal for Aubameyang.
Mendy is back in training for Man City. I will avoid Zinchenko for my team so I won’t have to make a transfer soon after the Wildcard. The problem is he could do well GW3! Hard for me to suggest selling him.
Digne and Wan-Bissaka are other defenders to consider.
Other players are ready, great team. 👍

My transfers are all done but I’m struggling to decide who should start this GW.
This is what my starting lineup looks like right now (subs in parentheses):
Ryan (button)
Lundstram, VVD, Digne (PVA, Kelly)
Dendoncker, Salah, sterling (c), KDB (VC), Martial
Pukki, King (Greenwood)
The problem I have is whether I should start King or PVA. I think King could potentially win a penalty but City will probably suffocate Bournemouth with possession and shots so I don’t know if King/Wilson can get in City’s box much. However PVA doesn’t look like he’ll be getting any attacking returns w Palace’s attack looking awful and Man U will probably score at least 1.
Wish I could transfer PVA out for AWB but I’ve already decided against a WC. Thanks for all your help!

Hi. Leaning toward King, but as you said, it’s not an easy fixture for them this week.
