***UPDATE: This is it. I’m experimenting with a new Wildcard strategy – to keep a sizeable amount of money in the bank. Normally, I would maximize the squad strength by using all the funds. If everything goes well, I can improve the squad depth or make small corrections. If it goes wrong, I can use the money to counter Wildcards GW4. I do not recomment this “all-star” bench for anyone. 🙂 It’s a massive risk GW3. If Digne is out, I could be down a player. Trying something new, good luck everyone!!!

*Provisional GW3 Wildcard team. Waiting on the last press conferences before confirming these players. Salah returns to the squad in place of KDB. Maguire and Martial also come in.

*The questions about the bench… sorry about that! 🙂 I don’t have one, I’m going with the cheapest bench players. This frees up the maximum ITB funds to match up against Wildcards GW4. Super risky, never really tried this before on an early Wildcard. Digne might not even play which could leave me a player short GW3.

*I am keeping an eye on price changes here: http://fplstatistics.com/ I may swap out some of the players in my team temporarily by staying up-to-date on the price changes. For example, I’ve brought in KDB for Salah, but I will likely have Salah in my team by deadline.

*Lucas Digne looks to be back in training.

*We also need an update on Lucas Digne who was forced off with a hamstring injury.

Saw your draft team, will you consider son and firmino in your final draft?

Son – can be a differential with high risk

Firmino – Madman bobby is on fire for the first two games. Im thinking of bringing him just for punt. Even he drop deep, he can gets off with assist to Mane n Salah or better with a goal. Thoughts?

  Son – I’m a little worried that he may not be fully match fit. I also want to be sure I can trust Spurs as a team for consistent returns.
  
  Firmino, you said it perfectly. Excellent form and points-potential, but he could be assisting to Salah and Mane… and those are my first-choice picks in Liverpool’s attack. If I bring in a Liverpool defender like van Dijk, there’s no room for madman Bobby.

  Very similar to my current team, I’ve been working with the same GK+DEF.
  
  The only decision is whether to go for Barnes or just one forward, Pukki. That might allow an upgrade to your invisible player.

  I took your advice and brought in mane just incase salah drops in price. I’ll probably bring him back coz I think salah can get more assists than mane. I would love to see your final team before the deadline

Hey Bruno, your work is the best i have come across in the whole of yt the videos are very insightful and contain your own personal touch which is very imp for me. Keep it up !
This season will be my first season playing fpl and i have some quick questions for you !
What makes you confident about a player when he is emerging on the scene ? (Eg. Pukki, ceballos)
What are the imp points you keep in mind while transfering a player in ?

  So many factors. The most important is instinct which is hard to explain. I get excited about adding the player to my team. But that’s not always the safest strategy, because strong managers might not feel the same way. If their player scores while mine blanks, I risk falling behind direct competitors.
  
  I think of whether the player’s style can translate into FPL points.
  
  What areas of the pitch is he covering? Does he create chances? Set pieces? Robertson’s duty is to go to the halfway line during corners to stop the counter-attack. Alexander-Arnold is sharing corners with Salah.
  
  Is his team strong in the area that my player specializes in? Ceballos has Aubameyang and Lacazette as targets, they don’t waste many chances. Lacazette scored off Ceballos’s corner GW2. I think of the very next opponent, Liverpool. Ceballos plays more on the left side, what if TAA leaves space in behind when he pushes high in the attack?
  
  Pukki, I would have to check again, but I believe Norwich scored the most goals in the championship last season, and the most away goals (Chelsea away next). They’ve already scored a few goals against Premier League defenders this season.
  
  There are other performance-related factors, but I can’t think of them at the moment.
  
  I’m not afraid to admit that price rise was another factor. Pukki and Ceballos are the two most transferred in players (>1 million combined).
  
  Fixtures are a concern for these two players. I’m trusting form over fixtures, but the form is really only 1-2 games and that’s not enough to make the best assessment. It’s a big risk.
  
  Consider the major positives and negatives, then decide on instinct.

  Hi Kasim 🇧🇳. We have the same GKs and DEFs, except I don’t have Zinchenko. Digne seems to be back in training, I added some photos to this blog post.
  
  Perez and Jota weren’t at their best GW2, they have to deliver GW3 and fight off potential replacements you might already have in mind.
  
  Your team is strong overall. Just the two players to keep an eye on.

I’ve 2 free transfer, planning to sell out the weakest 3 players:
1. Milivojevic
2. Doucoure
3. King (up against ManC)

Should I change 2 midfielder for
Sissoko + martial or
Bring in ndombele and pukki?
Any other options?

  Can understand the weakest players. The problem is I can’t choose easily between the two options. If you choose Martial, I might go cheaper to Cantwell (or Dendoncker), then reinvest the funds in other areas in the future.
  
  So the question might be, Cantwell/Dendoncker+Martial + £0.5m ITB vs. Ndombele + Pukki.
  
  I can’t decide because they’re both strong, sorry!

Great video and I’m very happy to see the excellent and hard work being recognize for and you getting the nice words that deserves from all around the world..

I love to see the old strategy on( increasing value team) with new approach( keeping some players with high ownership and not taking crazy hits). This strategy reminds me back in the days.

I like your team a lot specially with crazy McGinn he’s everywhere, I just think Martial is a good value for a number 9 and he gets the confidence under his boss he deserves and I think De Bruyne for Mane and specially Salah will do the trick..

  Yes, my latest draft has moved closer to Martial. Another one has all four Salah, Mane, Sterling and KDB! But it requires cuts in crucial areas and could be too risky.
  
  One final decision could be Mane vs. KDB.

I do want to know your thoughts on my team though. So I didn’t use my wildcard but I have 2 free transfers and I just made a transfer of Wilson to Pukki and I’m thinking of using my other transfer for Perez to Martial because I think it’s time for Perez to go because he’s not doing anything unlike Siggy or Zinchenko. AND, I benched Zinchenko instead of Lundstram, is that a wise decision?

so my current team looks like this:
DEF – Robertson, Van Dijk, Digne, Lundstram
MID – Salah, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Perez
FOR – Pukki, King
SUBS – Button, Zinchenko, Dendoncker, Greenwood

another top class video on the wildcard , it helped me make my 2 transfers early to catch prices.

just need your opinion on who should be my starting 11 and bench order.

DEF – Trent, Van Dijk, Digne, Zinchenko, Lundstram
MID – Salah, Sterling, Moura, Martial, Dendoncker
FOR – Pukki, King, Greenwood

so im thinking logically its between king and lundstram to start in the same way vvd and trent play arsenal so maybe one of them to the bench that makes me feel uneasy thou lol.

  I probably would’ve done the same this week had I gone for the 2FTs plan – early transfers.
  
  Leaning toward starting both Liverpool defenders. They are still capable of delivering attacking returns. Possibly like this:

  Pukki, King
  
  Zinchenko, Dendoncker, Greenwood
  
  Between Lundstram, Zinchenko and King to start. Can make a case for any of them, so it’s not easy.

Hey Bruno, I have my wc activated too, stuck in a decision to pick 2 mid in 12.7 mil. one option is 7 +5.5 (pedro/maddison + ceballos/moutinho ) or 6 +6.5 ( mount/trossard/grealish + bernard/tielemans …what do u suggest?

  Hey. Bernard has played well. I’m still thinking about he used to be the first player to be subbed off many times last season. Don’t know if Iwobi will be ready soon.
  
  I might consider a mix of your ideas, possibly Ceballos with Mount/Trossard? Then reinvest the funds elsewhere. Or super cheap 4.5m like Cantwell, then bumping the other mid higher or investing in another position.
  
  It’s not an easy decision. This final midfielder spot hasn’t been the easiest for my team, and I’m using the full week to work out the best player.

Hey man! I used my free changes as soon as i saw pukki scored 3 goals saturday. So i swapped out perez and wilson to get pukki and martial.

but if I use wildcard now, you are saying that will ignore price changes and i can increase my team value even more?

my team is now:

Ake, Digne, Robertson, Zinchengo, Lundstrom
Salah, Sterling, De bruyne, Martial, Dendoncker
King, Greenwood, Pukki

So im not happy wih ake. digne, robertson and king. and im considering doing the wild card now

  Whether you are on a Wildcard or not, your Team Value will still rise… assuming many people are buying the players you own. They are buying Pukki for example. The only transfers that count toward price changes are the ones being made by managers who are not on a Wildcard.

  I prefer not say whether you should the Wildcard or not because it’s too important of a decision.
  
  Team Value is not the most important thing. It is a factor, but not as important as points-scoring potential.
