Ola Bruno!
Hope you are doing well.
Greetings from the land of the Springboks🇿🇦🏆. Not sure if you followed the Rugby World Cup….it was absolutely amazing.
After a few tough FPL weeks, the last 2 weeks have been positive, I more than halved my rank from over 3m OR to 1.5 OR after 79 points GW11.
I havent been afraid to take some hits(even -16 one week yielded green arrows) for form players, easier run of games and early transfers for price changes, with an odd differential from a top team. Current team value is 104.1m. How do you rate this team value?.
As players performances generally have been quite inconsistent the season, one strategy I have remained focussed on is to keep on plugging away at team value, in order to pounce in the second half of the season…..does this strategy sound familiar😉…….
My current team( after -8 hit) is:
Gazzaniga,( Button)
Lord Lundstrom; Sir Soyunci, Rico, (Tomori), (Pieters)
Mane, Sterling, De Bruyne, Maddison, (Gundogan)
Vardy, Abraham, Wilson
1)Your thoughts on my team and starters?.
Gazzaniga, being top 6 keeper, with Lloris still out for a while, appears good value for some cleansheets, I hope.
2)Gundogan, more likely to start, with Fernandinho playing in defence and is known to chip in with the odd goal or assist….is it the right decision to bench him GW 12 though?
I hopefully plan to bring in Jiminez in next gameweek, if Wilson fails again.
Sterling on 4 yellows is also on my radar, to then possibly upgrade at the back to say 2 Liverpool defenders, TAA and Robo.
4)Any other options to consider for team for future gameweeks?.
5)Tomori and Pieters also on the chopping block?
6)Captain options for gameweek 12, Im thinking only of Vardy(form and good record against a shaky defensive Arsenal). Your views?
A reminder that the first blank gameweek this year is GW18 for Liverpool and West Ham.
7)PS: What caused your website technical issues that existed?.
8)Also are you not considerring doing a live stream on youtube sometime. Im sure all your loyal fans will absolutely welcome it!🙂

Ola. Doing well, thanks. That’s great with the Rugby World Cup, although I didn’t follow it so much.
Congrats on the climb in rank, and your Team Value is huge! I’m near 103m, which is good. Glad you posted the results of the big hits as I may be heading that way this week!
1) Looks good as is. No concerns.
2) Think it’s ok to bench him also. Might give Wilson another go, but as you said he’s not safe from the chop.
3) Liking the plan for Jimenez, and possibly 2x LFC defenders. The latter is my Plan B this week which I’ll post on Friday. 👍
4) Not at the moment.
5) Not a fan of Chelsea’s defense, at least until Rudiger and Kante return (assuming they tighten things up at full strength). Pieters is ok for now, but fixtures will turn eventually.
6) Vardy on form and Arsenal have a few question marks at the moment.
7) It was shut down. I’m just happy it’s back and would rather not discuss it. Thanks for asking though. 🙂
8) I don’t know much about the format, but I may try it as an experiment.

Thanks Bruno for the feedback. My only consideration is whether to bring in Pieters instead of Lundstram’s tough away fixture against Spurs(or is it). But how can anyone drop Lord Lundstram after his recent form!.
Hows your final team shaping up…..Vardy captain?
Good Luck and wishing you many green arrows. May the comeback continue……

Thanks, I did see the final team. Great to see you did well in GW12, despite the big hit.
I got 68 points, with a -8 hit and green arrows to 1.2m.
Made my first GW 13 transfers already to avoid price changes:
Sterling>Pulisic
Pulisic passes the eye test and is a huge talent. His dribbling and shooting skills are sublime. I see him as cross between Ronaldo and Hazard!. Also Chelsea has good fixtures and he should play while he is in form. Sterling hasnt scored much recently and seems a bit distracted. Now watch him score a hatrrick next!
Tomori> Robertson
Liverpool fullbacks valuable source of points, even without cleansheets
I might make1 more transfer fir GW13, not sure between:
Wilson> Jiminez or
Pieters> TAA
While I likely will be bringing in both Jiminez and TAA, Im thinking of spreading transfers over GW13 and GW14. If you have any thoughts thereon, let me know.
I just remembered that there is a blank gameweek for Liverpool in GW18, not sure if you are aware, and if you have proposed strategy therefore……

Yes, can agree with you having seen Pulisic play in person. He is a mini-Hazard, the main difference is physical strength. Hazard has this strong lower body and center of gravity, Pulisic can be muscled off the ball more easily. But they have to catch him first!
With Robertson currently a doubt, I might wait to be sure there aren’t any other surprises. Hopefully Robbo will get the rest he needs for his ankle to fully recover.
I was aware of the blank GW18, thanks for the heads up. Not overly concerned, prefer to make points now and deal with it as we get closer to it, possibly by banking free transfers.
For the next week, it’s so close between TAA and Jimenez. With Robertson already in, maybe Jimenez? It’s hard for me to choose one since I have both.

Hi Bruno,
Didn’t have Lord Lundstrm and you can understand how my gameweek went 🙂
How do you rate the team and suggestions?

Abraham Deulofeu Greenwood
Thanks.

Hi. Yes, small margins making a big difference this season.
I like it overall. If Leicester attackers continue to deliver, you could consider some cover. It may require a sacrifice to a premium mid, and it’s difficult to choose the right one. I’ve sold Salah to make a move for Maddison, Vardy, Jimenez.

Olá. Excellent score, nice work. 👍
Hard to believe so many key premium mids blanked last week. They scored like 40pts for me GW10, then GW11 7 pts…
Wishing you big green arrows for GW12.

Hi. Struggling to point you in a set direction as far as transfers because your team is already close for this week, and there are doubts as to who will start this weekend. The big teams also have tough fixtures which adds unknowns.
I can share my thoughts on the teams and players.
Brighton are entering a difficult run against stronger attacks, so keep an eye on Ryan if they start conceding goals. A double up on Sheffield United at the back with Henderson is worth considering around GW14. Difficult to suggest this move for GW12 because they both face tough opponents.
Pieters also edging closer to the chopping block. He has two decent fixtures before they turn for the worse.
Don’t know if CHO is 100% nailed-on, although he could start on Saturday if Mount misses out. Not easy! Tielemans is an option in a similar price range, unless you’d rather have Maddison or Martial.
If the premium mids blank again, and don’t play well, then consider a change with players like Maddison, Martial and Jimenez. Mane also worth considering, although our fixture cheatsheet shows a difficult run for Liverpool attackers.
If you can’t find ideal transfers, one idea is Hanley out for a different cheap defender such as Reid (extra £0.1m, recovering from serious injury and may not play) or Rico, depending on the transfer plan you have in mind for the future. This would give you another 2FTs for the international break. By then, you might have better info to work on the squad, including the bench which feels a little light.
No easy solution with the unknowns this week. I’ve made big moves to solve multiple problems in one shot, but can’t recommend that for others. 🙂

Hi Bruno
Would appreciate your thoughts on my team. I have 2 free transfers and 1M banked.
66 points last week with the current team which I haven’t changed for a while (and has been above avg points over that time)
Pope (Button)
Pva, Soyuncu, PAA, Lundstram (Kelly)
Sterling, Salah, KdB, Mount, (D Luiz)
Pukki, Abraham (Greenwood)
Now to the questions.
Opt 1: small changes – Salah out, Mane in. Keeps a 2 free transfers for next GW and and 1.3M in bank. 4 – 4 – 2
I am thinking of keeping Pukki 1 more GW as he’s playing Watford on Friday night and that might be an electric environment and Watford stinks (sorry Watford supporters)
Opt 2: larger changes: Salah out, Maddison in. Greenwood out, Vardy in. Go
1 free transfer for next GW and 0.8M in bank.
3-4-3 formation with PAA, Soy, Lund; Mount, Sterling, KdB(C), Maddison; Pukki, Abraham, Vardy.
Option 1 keeps a good points team together prior in intl break and flex. Opt 2 is aggressive and with upside but disrupts a good points team.
As always, appreciate your thoughts.

Hi. Option 1: Hard to tell who will score more points between the two, so it could work to burn a transfer and bank 2FTs again. I thought of something similar, but our fixture cheatsheet led me in a different direction without Liverpool attackers which is risky.
Option 2: This is what I’ve done. Salah sacrificed to make a move for three players: Maddison, Vardy, Jimenez.
Hard to predict Liverpool vs. Man City. I’ve taken a gamble on Leicester’s form with an eye on their fixture run starting around GW13.
This one is up to you, Salah and Mane are close in points potential.

I’m thinking Sterling Ings and Guendouzi out for Jimenez Pulisic and Maddison after the game week is finished?!! Is it a good move? I have to take(-4) hit but I want to get them before the price rise and with this transfer I can later on bring Welleims for Hanley!!!
Upper 90 Studios

Liking the moves. Always a risk with early moves during an international break, but sometimes price changes force our hand.
Hanley and Norwich are a bit of a mess defensively. I might prefer a 3.9m non-playing defender than Hanley. 🙂

Hi Bruno congrats on a great score and well deserved green arrows:) sometimes going maverik is the way to play this game. Im happy with 71 pts cant complain.
My corrent team:
1FT
Pope/Button
TAA, Soy, Tomori, Lund, Kelly
Mane, KDB, Sterling, Tielemans, Mount
Vardy, Tammy, Connolly
thinking about these potential moves:
a. Sterlo + Soy -> Madds + Robbo (goal is to tripple on Lei attack and pool assets)
b. Sterlo + Tomori -> Salah + Clark
c. Sterlo -> Son
d. Save
thx for your advise mate

Hi. Thank you, it was a -12 hit which usually doesn’t work out straight away. Congrats on your score. 👍
a) Robertson pulled out of the internationals. Never know, it could be good if he’s fully-rested for GW13? Maddison and Leicester are on fire. One concern with this move is our cheatsheet shows a long run of green fixtures for Leicester defenders.
b) Salah is staying with Egypt national team, but as I understand it, he will not feature in their games with a recurrence of his ankle injury. Think he went in for a scan and they are awaiting the results.
c) Son is the best Spurs asset for FPL. The problem is the timing as Pochettino has sometimes rested him after an international break. I know because I had Son who came off the bench for 1pt after the last IB. 🙂
d) Leaning toward waiting until closer to deadline so we have all the info. The main reason is your team is already strong.

Kia ora Bruno
Good to see the Leicester triple strategy worked well for you. Eddie did well- 72 (had Dunk and McTominay who both scored besides Mane & 3XLCFC(green), I got 61 (small red). I’ve missed price rises now so may wait till I see if international break produces any injuries, but any tips on how to improve my team below at this point?
Ryan (Heaton)
Rico, Pereira, Lundstram (Kelly, Reid)
KDB, Sterling, Tielemans, Mane (Dendoncker)
Vardy, Auba, Connolly
I’m keen to get Jiminez and Pulisic -but would mean selling a premium asset like Sterling or Auba, which I’m not so keen on with the good fixtures these attackers have coming up next few weeks. I have 2 FT, but 0 ITB. Any tweaks to suggest? My bench a bit light with Kelly having lost his place now.
Cheers

Kia ora. Thanks! An above average score for you, while Eddie did very well. 👍
Ryan (Heaton)
Rico*, Pereira, Lundstram (Kelly, Reid)
KDB, Sterling, Tielemans, Mane (Dendoncker)
Vardy, Auba, Connolly*
*Highlighted these players before reading the rest of your comment.
Rico and Bournemouth face a difficult run of fixtures. Doesn’t mean you have to sell him, just something to keep in mind if their players struggle in FPL. Connolly was subbed at halftime (groin problem) and his fixtures are difficult.
Jimenez and Wolves are playing well and scoring. Pulisic also in great form. Man City next is a little tricky for Chelsea, but it doesn’t mean he can’t score. As you said, these players on your Watchlist might require dropping a premium player.
Every factor counts, so we have to consider Sterling’s 4 yellow cards and the impact of the Liverpool defeat on City. They face a strong Chelsea side next which is not easy to predict.
Aubameyang has a solid run of fixtures now. The concern is there could be some issues behind the scenes with the manager. The manner in which they were beaten by Leicester didn’t help.
The next move could involve these players we both mentioned. The problem is the timing as it’s always a risk to sell a premium player. For example, I sold Salah last week and he scored 8pts. Overall, it could work because it’s about the combination that delivers the most points.
I would need more time to think, and the international matches could give us more clues.
Thanks for the update,
-Bruno
