GW14 Review.
GW14 points: 71PTS (AVG 60). Upper 90 Studios dropped from 95k to 110k in the Overall Rank.
The Results.
Emi Martinez (6PTS). West Brom were held to one shot attempt in 90 minutes. Villa play Crystal Palace next, then enter a run of games against three attacking sides: Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham. Will fixtures affect their momentum?
⚽️ With back-to-back clean sheets, Martinez is now the highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL.
Tariq Lamptey (0PTS). Not available due to a hamstring problem. With my team structure and a weak bench, I need reliable starters. Not sure who’s to blame here, me or Lamptey. 🙂
Stuart Dallas (5PTS). How many defenders can concede six goals and still score 5 points in FPL?
Ben Chilwell (1PT). Rolled his ankle just 3 minutes in. With the short recovery time between games, will Chilwell be fully-fit?
Bruno Fernandes (34PTS, captain). Made up for his captain blank the previous game with a top performance. Two goals, an assist and two bonus points. Up next is a midweek League Cup game followed by a well-drilled Leicester side GW15.
Kevin De Bruyne (5PTS). Desperately needs Aguero and Jesus back to their best. Fully-rested in the cup midweek, Newcastle at home next.
Son Heung-min (2PTS) and Harry Kane (2PTS). ❌ Quiet first half, then they raised their game but it was too late. Spurs have been outplayed by Liverpool and Leicester in their last two games. Even so, Kane and Son have had opportunities to register returns, although not as many as I was expecting! They’ve pushed through a difficult spell of fixtures, now their fixtures turn green.
Patrick Bamford (6PTS). Could’ve easily scored two goals and somehow ended up with a blank! Leeds have a unique attacking nature and will always create chances for Bamford.
Calvert-Lewin (5PTS). His assist was actually a header that bounced off a defender for an own goal. Everton lacked some of the drive without Allan in midfield, but still earned three points against Arsenal. The question is whether Everton create enough chances to produce returns in FPL.
Jack Grealish (10PTS). Two assists and a sneaky bonus point. Grealish continues to show consistency in a team that looks as if they can score with every attack.
⚽️ In the past 5 seasons, no player has created more chances away than Grealish vs. West Brom (8).
GW14 Standouts.
Anthony Martial (12PTS). Failed to score and only registered one assist between GW1 and GW12. Since then, one goal and four assists in his last two games.
Raphinha (8PTS). Assisted both goals for Leeds. We may see a rise in his production as he settles into the Premier League.
Mo Salah (16PTS). Made everything look so easy, especially the second goal which he curled into the top far corner. The scary part about this performance is he came off the bench! Had he started, there was an opportunity to break FPL scoring records.
Roberto Firmino (16PTS). No pressure from Jota has triggered a boost in Firmino’s confidence.
⚽️ Firmino has three goals and an assist in his last two league games.

Salah Bruno Son Grealish (Alzate)
Kane Bamford DCL
For double gameweek preperations i was thinking of transfering out DCL for Rodrigo and Robertson for Targett this gameweek (-4 hit)
After that i would spread my transfers across gameweeks it would be Kane for Vardy and after that Alzate for Soucek.
For DGW i would have Soucek Taylor and McCarthy on the bench so i think i it would be perfect time for Bench boost chip. (11 DGW players)
I need your advice should i do it or myb save bench boost chip for later? Only problem is i have DCL since gw 1 which means big price difference if i want to bring him back in the future.
And i nearly forgot 😅merry christmas!!!

Hi. You’re welcome. Liking the transfer plan. Not sure what happened with Liverpool today, bit stunned as they pushed by never really had dangerous attempts at goal. Robertson was high on the left, his crosses just didn’t come off this time.
Rodrigo was subbed a bit early? That’s the only concern as Leeds attackers have a high scoring potential.
Bench Boost is making sense with your squad and transfer plan. It’s possible DCL’s price could drop a little after a few blanks and flat Everton performances.

Hi Bruno, 49 pts GW15 so not to bad.. Looking for advice on the team for GW16. Liking your GW16 – 19 advice…but wondering If I should accelerate some moves. Current team with 1 FT and 1.6M banked
Dallas, Justin, Coufal, (Westergaard Douglas)
Salah, Son, KdB, Soucek (Bissouma)
Kane, Bamford, DCL
So I was thinking:
I’m assuming KdB will be rotated out of the line-up vs Everton. So..was thinking
1) Robertson for Westergaard
2) DCL for Adams (pretty much following your GW15 advice on 1 and 2)
Then
3) KdB out for either MCFC Folden or Mahrez, or Fernandes.
If I do #3 for either Folden or Mahrez, then switch them out for Fernandes in GW17. or
4) Leave KdB save the transfer hit points and if he doesn’t start, then 1st sub is Justin or Coufal.
Finally for the 3rd defenseman, would you pick Justin or Coufal?
Appreciate your thoughts.

Hi. Nice score in a difficult week. Injuries to Lamptey (and Chilwell!) rushed my plans.
I can speak for my transfer plan which is to drop KDB for Fernandes for GW16 with DGW19 in mind. I have Robertson as well, prefer him to Vestergaard.
Don’t know if Vardy has a small knock… Just posted the final team on social media, running short on time!
Like the team the way you’ve set it, just the final transfer if you go for it. Trying to reply quickly before deadline.

Hi Bruno, Merry Christmas to you and your beloved !!! 59 points for me cant complain.
At this point I have 7 players for BGW 18 so i think i will get two more and hit FH or TC chip in DGW 19. We know there will be a lot of rotation and possible unjuries by that time so the idea of having 8-9 players in BGW18 and play FH/TC chip in DGW19 might be a sound strategy/ So with this in mind who d you suggest to get for next 3 gws :
a. City Def – Stones or Dias? got Cancelo
b. Tot Def – Davies or Dier?
Cap choice this week;
a. Salah
b. Son or Kane?

a. Leaning toward Dias. Pep seems to trust Dias, Stones can sometimes be dropped after making a mistake.
b. Dier could be a bit safer with rotation.
Leaning toward Salah. Pressure on all three after the last game! I have it set on Salah currently.

My GW15 was better than expected, 55 points, with a small red arrrow, but overall happy as my team structure looks good.
Heres my current team:
Martinez, ( Fraser)
Robo, Dias, Stones, Chillwell, ( James)
Salah, Son, Fernandes,Raphinha,(Bowen)
Kane, Bamford, (Davis)
With Vardy having form and a great GW16 fixture( Palace- current whipping boys), my GW16 option Im thinking of are as follows:
Option 1- Leave team as is and hope Chillwell plays and Chelsea’s form turns around, with Villa playing bad.Also hope for Diasand Stones to both play with no Pep roulette.
Option 2( -4): Fernandes and Davis to El Ghazi and Vardy (have exact funds available).
With option 2 play a back 3,with Chillwell then going to bench if both Man City defenders play.
Captain- Im considering Salah.
Do you perhaps know if Matip is out for GW16 and who is to take his place- Rys Williams or Nat Phillips ( both 4.0m defenders!)?
Please let me know your thoughts and views on the above.

Hi. Thank you, same to you. Happy to hear that, 55 points is a strong score with the low average.
1. Surprised Chilwell and James were ok! Don’t see an issue keeping him with his quick recovery. Stones/Dias is also tricky with Pep rotation, but it helps that you have James for cover who also recovered. Who knows which players will get dropped this round, I really have no idea! 🙂
2. Can see this idea to take advantage of the opponent. You could be ok either way with Fernandes on current form. Close captain decision between he and Salah for my side, I have it on Mo at this moment. Not sure if Vardy was just listed as having a knock? I understand Rodgers hinted at rotation, but I’m not completely caught up with the quick deadline. This one is up to you because I can see your idea to target Palace.
Matip seems set to miss a few weeks. Difficult to predict, but I might say Rys Williams as he came on last game? Don’t know if Klopp could also change the shape by dropping a holding midfielder into the CB position, especially if Thiago is back. Williams had a few shaky moments after coming on.
Some thoughts, trying to reply quickly!

Thanks,Bruno. I just read about Vardy’s potential rest for GW16.
As a result rather reducing my risk and making no transfers, to have 2 free for GW17.
Just hoping at least one of Chillwell or James starts and they perform like before!

So far my plan was going great (Rodrigo 8pts vs DCL blank) and i did and early transfer Kane for Vardy to avoid price changes .
But now Taylor got injured (hamstring injury) and the only option left for me if i want to continue my BB DGW19 plan (11 dgw players) is to swap him for Lawton (-4 hit and -8 if count previous Roberston trasnfer which was in order to prepare for BB DGW).This seems too risky for me bcs of all Covid cases now and even League might be postponed for two weeks(not official information).This is rly 50/50 call for me and it seems like i always mess up with these calls so i do not trust my own opionion at all now.
Im sorry if i made this post too long and complicated i get carried away easily talking about fpl problems 😅

The idea is to avoid planning too far in advance because things are changing quickly. Once I reach the Blank and Double Gameweeks, then I’ll make moves to target them, even it means taking hits. But it will be closer to the respective deadlines.
I can see the issue with Taylor. I like the idea of bringing in Robertson who is in good form. I’m not sure if you’re planning on using the Free Hit chip BGW18, but keep in mind that Liverpool are off GW18. Manchester United snuck into the Blank Gameweek now.
There could be other surprises like Grealish is on four yellow cards, one more and he would miss a game. Kane has a great fixture this round vs. Leeds, not sure if you sold him? Up to you on this one as Vardy can also score well.
I don’t know the exact moves to suggest. I’m taking it game by game for my team, making changes with the latest information.
I’m a bit confused with my own plan, it’s definitely not just you. 🙂

GW16 with 52 points. I have 1 FT with 1.4 banked. Current team which I pretty much like looking forward:
Martinez (Button)
Robertson, Dallas, Justin, (Coufal, Douglas)
Salah, Son, Fernandes, Soucek (Bissouma)
Kane, Adams, Bamford
Thinking of keeping the team as is this GW. I’m not pleased with Justin for sometime but given LC playing Newcastle, I am tempted to keep him one more GW and switch him out GW19 for a Southhampton defender (GW18 plan to do a freehit).
I am tempted to switch out Soucek for Neto this GW, but worried it will limit my flexibility going forward with only 0.4 left in the bank. Would appreciate your thoughts on that switch.
Finally, on captain….Salah has a good record vs SouthH, BUT Fernandes has been doing well even when MU is not…and also am wondering to I go with a rested Son or Kane vs LEEDS? Would appreciate your thoughts here as well.

Hi. Happy New Year! I know right? 52 is a good score in another horror week of surprises.
I’m considering Justin for my team, but will take another look at Southampton defenders. I’m undecided on Vardy for DGW19 and was looking at Justin for Leicester cover. Decent fixture next versus Newcastle.
Soucek might be a quality option for DGW19, so it’s not easy. Neto is high on my list for the Free Hit BGW18. Your call whether to jump in a bit sooner… he creates chances in a hard working side. Soucek is a strong threat in the air, somewhat dependent on set pieces.
Salah and Liverpool fell a bit short in the last two games. Fernandes has been slightly better than Salah, but also flat last game. Leaning toward Kane or Son. As you said, they will be fully rested. Leeds have conceded the second most goals this season behind only West Brom.
