No bench. Swapping premium players. KDB wasn’t even my vice captain! My team has been right on the edge of collapse. Am I weaker when I get things wrong, or stronger because I took a chance?
GW13 Review.
GW13 points: 59PTS (AVG 42). Upper 90 Studios climbed to 95k in the Overall Rank!
The Results.
Emi Martinez (8PTS). Stellar debut on my team with a clean sheet and four saves which earned him an extra bonus point. His bonus alone matched Edouard Mendy’s total after I dropped him (1PT).
Tariq Lamptey (6PTS). I nearly took a -4 hit to drop him! It’s now two Gameweeks in a row that I dodged serious damage to my team by sticking with Plan A instead of the more involved Plan B.
Stuart Dallas (7PTS). Love him. 😍 Leeds scored 5 goals against against Newcastle and it could’ve been more. Next up, Manchester United which will stir up an old rivalry. Hopefully no fireworks…
Ben Chilwell (5PTS). Strong performance after a few games of being outshined by Reece James. Chilwell is always eager to get down the wing and has an excellent target for his crosses in Giroud.
Bruno Fernandes (4PTS, captain). Quiet game in which he tried to sneak the pass in behind but failed to find the target. To make matters worse, Telles took over some free kicks and corners! That’s now two captain blanks for my team in 13 games this season, both Man United players. ❌
Kevin De Bruyne (4PTS). The first 80 minutes weren’t good enough from City, despite West Brom putting up a real fight. Similar to Fernandes with Telles, Gundogan (and Foden) took over set pieces which affected KDB’s potential. Two brilliant crosses in added time, 2 bonus points. City must be more clinical in front of goal, although the return of Sergio Aguero might change things.
Son Heung-min (9PTS, vice captain). One-on-one with the keeper, trademark finish. As mentioned on the previous post, Liverpool’s high defensive line could benefit Son. Once he snuck in behind, there was no catching him. Set piece duty increases Son’s potential as he creates chances, and he was rewarded in the Bonus Points System versus Liverpool. With decreased ownership in the #Elite64 league (stats below), especially as a duo, Son and Kane continue to deliver as a combination differential against strong FPL managers.
⚽️ Son and Kane are the top scorers in FPL with 114 points and 109 points respectively.
Jack Grealish (3PTS). Villa were dangerous in the attack. The problem was when Grealish and his teammates made eye contact with Nick Pope, the final shot ended up in the top stands. 🙂
Patrick Bamford (6PTS). I’m calling him Bamfordinho from now on. 🇧🇷 Consistent returns from a player who began the season at just £5.5m. I love when he takes one touch and the next movement is a quick shot that catches everyone off guard. After seeing Sheffield United score two against Man United, Leeds might play without fear at Old Trafford.
Calvert-Lewin (5PTS). Everton showed supreme confidence against a strong Leicester side and deserved the three points. The absence of Jonny Evans played a part as Fofana felt the pressure. There was however one negative for Everton. Allan went down with what appeared to be a serious hamstring injury. If he’s out for a long spell, the impact could be significant. Iwobi has stepped in for Digne, Sigurdsson for James Rodriguez… Allan is the engine in the midfield, he drives the team forward and his energy is contagious. He might not be as easily replaced.
Harry Kane (2PTS). Mistimed header from a Son corner, two similar chances in the last two games! Liverpool were on their game and made it difficult for Spurs and Kane to get any rhythm. Next up for Spurs, Leicester. Recovery ahead of the weekend is crucial as both teams looked tired GW13.
⚽️ Kane has scored 16 goals in 10 appearances against the Foxes, more than any other team.
GW14 Top Cheats.
Mo Salah (7PTS). Looked sharp in the first half and deserved his goal. Quieter in the second half which is normal given the workload in December. Even though I can bring Salah back without a hit, my team still produced solid green arrows without him. At the moment, I don’t have a concrete plan for Salah, but I’m staying flexible just in case.
Pedro Neto (9PTS). 🇵🇹 Fun player to watch. Neto has everything to become a proper FPL asset:
- Dribbling ability
- Finishing (goals)
- Set pieces (assists)
The only potential obstacle could be the fixtures. Wolves’s next three opponents are Nick Pope, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford (14PTS). Powerful runs, confidence and composure. Rashford may once again find space in behind defenders when United welcome Leeds to Old Trafford.

Captain.
This one could go to the wire! Bruno Fernandes is currently set as captain GW14 to exploit the gaps as Leeds commit players into the attack. But I could change it to Harry Kane with his scoring record against Leicester, 16 goals in 10 games is hard to ignore…
Be sure to leave your comments or thoughts below. Thanks and good luck!!! 😎💯-Bruno

Hello Bruno,
Will be quick considering the deadline approaching:
GK: Martinez
DEF: Chilwell / Konsa / Dallas / Lewis / Neco Williams
MID: Fernandes / Son / Grealish / KDB / Biss
FWD: Bamfordinho / Wilson / Kane
1 FT and 0.7 ITB
No Liverpool cover and no DCL against Arsenal:
Plan 1: KDB to Salah
Plan 2: Leave as is, bank a FT and leave the option for a mini WC next GW.
Kane captain.
What are your thoughts on that?
Best regards

Hello. This is super difficult because there are rumors Salah could be rested. Then again, I’d hate to suggest not doing it, then he scores!
I can only speak for my plan and I’m keeping KDB over Salah.
Kane is a top captain pick and differential against strong FPL managers this week.
Some notes, but it’s a tough one!

Hello!
I was wondering if I could get some help with my fantasy team. My current team is
Martinez, Steer
Konsa, Lamptey, Robbo, Kilman and Dias
Salah, Bruno, Ward-Prowse, J. Rodriguez and Burke
Kane, Bamford and DCL
I have no FT left this GW, I don’t have my first wildcard left and I need some help on the direction to go especially for this up coming Double GW. I’m planning to use my FH for GW18 then use FT to navigate to GW19. Could I get some opinion and some transfer options for the upcoming GW (I have 0.3 ITB). Thank you!

Hi Bruno,
Brilliant decision with captaining Fernandes.. I had Salah, Son, KDB and him and captained KDB. Rivals closed the gap due to 1 wrong captain choice! For GW15, would you play Bednerak over Socuek?
I got a couple of questions regarding the FH chip and was hoping you could shed some light into.
I am aware that you aren’t able to make any transfer if you are doing a FH. With that in mind, does that mean you could make early transfers and as many as you want, and then hit FH chip just before the deadline and that would wipe all the hits away?
If so, what happens if you made an early transfer, then theoretically, the player rises 0.2. In a normal case, when you then transfer the player out, you net a 0.1 profit. What happens when you then hit the FH chip? Would you use lose that 0.1?
Likewise, if 20,000 managers transferred a player in or out, causing their value to rise/drop respectively. What happens when the said 20,000 managers hit the FH chip after that? Would FPL re-calculate this and revert the price change?
Cheers.

Hi, thanks. The captaincy played a big part this week, I’m surprised that other key players didn’t pull their own weight.
Bednarek vs. Soucek is so close. I wouldn’t be able to choose at this moment without thinking it through with more time. I’ll have to check up on Brighton’s GK situation, not completely caught up on all the games.
The FH chip works just a Wildcard, so yes. If you make multiple transfers for hits then confirm the FH, then the FH wipes out any hits.
That’s a good question. I believe the FH will revert your team to what it was right before any of those transfers were made. Unfortunately I don’t think it can be used in the way you thought of, but that is a genius idea. I’m not 100% sure, so be sure to check around.
The Free Hit works like a Wildcard. I believe active FH transfers shouldn’t count toward price changes. Double check to be sure. 🙂

Hi Bruno,
As always thanks for the fantastic advice.
GW15 saw me Go from 61k – 32k in the OR with a score of 88 points. I Captained Fernandes and had both Salah and Robbo score big for me.
having said this – the Chilwell injury has me a bit stumped…
having limited info on how serious it is im considering a transfer of Chilwell – Cresswell/Coufal, but if his injury isn’t too serious im worried this is a bit shortsighted?
Then… I’ve decided my plan for a FH GW18 and BB GW19 with a few transfers of: Brewster – Rodrigo and Bissouma – Oriol Romeu completing an 11 player DGW set.
BUT – with the new news of another possibly big Double gameweek… I’m wondering if it would be better to Triple Captain this week and keep the benchboost for after another WC team change up? (there are just so many unknown variables it is hard to decide)
Its Also difficult because I see KDB as essential in GW20 – GW23 and it means I may need to take a -4 or even a -8 to get him back in?
what are your thoughts here?
Thanks
Kyle (Civilians FC)

Hi Kyle,
No problem. Great to hear the OR boost to 32k, 88 points is amazing. 👍
I’ve been busy with the video and don’t have an update on Chilwell. As I understand, he was going in for a scan. I haven’t ruled out keeping him if he’s ok.
Liking the plan with 11x DGW players. I didn’t even consider the BB GW19 because I’ve been ignoring my bench all season! I usually like to use the BB chip later in the season to maximize the use of a higher Team Value, but I will take another look at the BB options today. I didn’t know about the possibility of another big DGW, so thanks for the heads up.
Without trying all the scenarios out myself, it’s hard to make a concrete suggestion. But I’ll try things out later today.
-4 or -8 is reasonable if you can build enough of a lead to afford it, or if you feel it can be made up over time. It might depend on individual and team form at the time. I’m thinking of the combined points total from GW15 through GW20. As you mentioned, there are many variables at this stage, so we also have to stay flexible and adjust as needed.
Thanks for the great comment with new ideas to consider.
