Hey Bruno, great to have you back in action again!! Bring on the 2020/21 season!
My team so far is as follows with 0.0m ITB:
McCarthy (Nyland)
TAA Justin Vinagre Mitchell (Douglas)
Salah Mane Auba ASM (Stephens)
Kane Mitrovic (Davis)
So the idea is to transfer out Mane for Fernandes GW2, and then Auba for De Bruyne in GW3. That’ll leave me 2.0m ITB to be able to play around with and have flexibility.
As for the defenders, I’m unsure about Justin, as Leicester defence seems to have weakened a bit with a few injuries and Chilwell gone. Do you know if Douglas will be starting for Leeds? I think a rotation between him and Mitchell could work well. Am wondering if Ben Davies will start for Spurs, and Saliba for Arsenal? I’m also eyeing up Egan, but not sure how Sheffield will go defensively this year. My strategy is to spend as little as possible on defence so I have more money to play with up front. As for the midfielders, I originally had Son instead of Mane as I think he is reasonably priced considering their generous run of fixtures. But since I could afford it, I think Mane will be the better option for GW1 with Leeds at home and get that points differential. Am perhaps looking at upgrading ASM to Ward-Prowse after GW3 if he’s playing well. As for the forwards, I think both Kane and Mitrovic are both offer really good value and could well pay off. I know it’s a bit risky not owning Werner but I’m going to wait for a bit and see how he goes. Am also eyeing up Martial too if he’s on fire. Will get Brewster instead of Davis if he loans to another club, as I think he has great potential.
What are your thoughts? I really value your thoughts and greatly appreciate it.
Cheers Bruno,
Nick

Hey. Thanks! I can’t wait!
I like Justin in the £4.5m range. I agree with you on Leicester’s defense. One positive is he might make up for a lack of clean sheets with attacking returns.
I had Mitchell initially, and really wanted to use him as a starter. I had him in the first draft I created at the end of last season. Then I put together our fixture cheatsheet. Crystal Palace faces strong attacking sides in 3 out of the first 4 games. That doesn’t mean their defenders won’t deliver. Mitchell seems to have a good chance of starting while PVA is injured, and Palace can be stubborn to break down. Trust your instinct.
Future plan and flexibility makes sense… Mane, Auba, Fernandes, KDB.
I don’t know enough about Douglas, but I have him in many drafts as he seems to be starting regularly in pre-season. There might be some options at £4m this season, but it’s difficult to predict who will be a regular and how teams will start the season. Will they be more attacking or defensive?
Can understand the reasoning with the cheaper defenders in order to afford high-ceiling players like Mane and Kane. Good note on Brewster if he leaves.
Nothing required to change for now. Let’s see if we have more info from pre-season to lock in those cheaper defender spots.
New Zealand, love it. Thanks for the comment!

Hi Bruno
My team for now is
McCarthy
(Nyland)
TAA
Robertson
Justin
Vinagre
(Ferguson)
Salah
Aubamayang
Hojbjerg
(Oriol Romeu)
(Stephens)
Werner
Vardy
Mitrovic
Playing it as a 4-3-3 Rotating my cheap midfielders
0.5 ITB aswell for future planning
Ferguson looking likely to start for palace at 4.0 is a steal even though statting fixtures arent favourable
Thoughts on any changes tried to spread the money through the team to make switches easier

Hi. GK+DEF look set. Liking the Liverpool duo at the back. Ferguson might have a knock, need an update. Still scouting £4m defenders as teams continue to sign new players.
Romeu and Stephens are only good for 1-2pts, but I can understand sacrificing bench strength to beef up the starting XI.
Hojbjerg can be more defensive away from FPL points, but that depends on Mourinho. He does have a decent shot from distance, so keep your idea. I might prefer the more attack-minded Soucek, but it seems he is in quarantine after international duty!
Everyone else is well set with strong mids and forwards. Great team 👍

Hi Bruno
First of all always great content really enjoy your videos. i have finally subscribed to your emails and have just joined your mini league.
My team (Let it Bielsa)
Gk: Mcarthy, Nyland
Def: TAA, Doherty, Justin, mitchel (johnson)
Mid: Salah, Auba, Son, Soucek (stephens)
Att: Vardy, ings (brewster)
the plan is to swap auba in gw3 for kdb and depending on form son will be replaced for greenwood to free up funds for a more solid 3rd defender and upgrade brewster (if he does not go out on loan and smashes it) to mitrovich, rodrigo or ayew.
i have started vardy as he is always solid, but will be easy to upgrade to either aguero or kane if need be or a downgrade to jimenez or werner.
not sure if i should start with both vardy and ings and therefore have a weaker defence in a 442 set up or possibly play mitrovich to start and get a stronger defence.
its all happening again and my mind is non stop thinking FPL thank god you are here for a bit of support!

What’s up Max. Thanks for the compliments. 👍 Enjoy the fixture cheatsheet and good luck in the mini league!
Good GKs. Liking the defense. Mitchell should be good for starting regularly while PVA is injured. Just wish Palace had better starting fixtures. 3 of their first 4 games are red according to our fixture ratings.
Mids are perfect and the forward line is strong.
Liking the flexibility for future transfers while saving the Wildcard.
I’m on the same boat as far as the team balance, especially setting the defenders. We seem to be losing £4m options as teams sign new players in the transfer window.
Just the few minor notes, nothing required to change.
Thanks for the comment. 👍

This is my team at the moment :-
GK= McCarthy, Nyland
DEF= TAA, Dier, Vinagre, Mitchell, Justin
MID= Soucek, Salah, Aubameyang, Saint Max, Bissouma
FWD= Ings, Werner, Jimenez
My plan is to get Bruno Fernandez and Aguero for Aubameyang and Jimenez after GW2!
Is my team well balanced? And will Aguero be ready by GW2 or GW3?
Thanks for the great content and the new song I think is the best one yet!

Super strong, one of the best yet. The balance might lean toward the top heavy side, but we have to find positions to cut in the beginning with limited funds. Hopefully the cheaper defenders can step up this season.
Liking the plan, let’s see how the teams and players start the season and take it from there.
I don’t know about Aguero, but Gabriel Jesus didn’t quite fill in that role as well as he could’ve. A fully fit Aguero could be interesting…
That’s awesome, thanks!!!

Hi Bruno
Great to hear from you.
My current team for the star.
GK: McCarthy, Nyland
DEF: Doherty, Digne, Wan Bisaka, Mitchell, Reece James
MID: Salah, Son, Auba, Ward- Prowse, Bissouma
FWD: Kane, Mitro, Davis
GW2 Salah out, Bruno In
GW3 Auba out, KDB in,
GW4: 2,5 in Bank. I can upgrade for TAA, Jimenez, Zaha, Eze, or some Chelsea midfielder. Your thoughts?
Greetings from Serbia!!!

What’s up! Good to have you as well. 🇷🇸
GKs are looking good. I like the defense overall. Mitchell is a good bench option until Crystal Palace’s fixtures ease up. Hopefully Reece James will nail down a starting spot this year as the potential for attacking returns increases with their summer reinforcements.
GW2 – I can see this plan working, although Salah could make it difficult for managers to sell if he’s scoring big points. We have time to assess everyone’s potential.
GW3 – This is something I’m also considering for my team, but I am keeping an open mind and not locking any plans down just yet. I prefer to take it game by game as things change quickly.
GW4 – Perfect.
It’s excellent overall, top player selections and smart future plan. 👍

Kia ora from New Zealand, Bruno
Quick question re cheap defenders. Which of the small crop of 4.0 defenders in the game do you think are most likely to start? I’ve got Branthwaite at the moment but I see some people are going for Mitchell- and I’m unsure who is most likely to start in the promoted teams like Leeds – not so familiar with their players. Any thoughts welcome.
Cheers

Kia ora Davina 🇳🇿. It seems all the £4m defenders (and some £4.5m) are steadily losing their appeal as we get closer to GW1.
I had Mitchell on the very first draft I created at the end of last season. Then I put together the fixture cheatsheet and noticed 3 of the first 4 opponents are red for Palace defenders. Now I’m also seeing PVA back in training. If PVA is ready, Mitchell will drop down to the bench. Need fitness updates on key players…
Everton’s starting central defenders haven’t had the best record with injuries. Keane and Holgate are regulars, then Mina followed by Branthwaite. Holgate suffered an injury a few days ago and could miss the start. Mina has recovered after yet another injury toward the end of last season. Even though Branthwaite isn’t guaranteed to start, he remains the top £4m defender on my radar. Everton face WBA, CRY and BHA in 3 of their first 4 games.
I’m not familiar with many Leeds players either, still researching. I did notice Douglas starting consistently in the summer, so there’s a chance he could keep his place based on recent preparation for the new season.
There’s a decent chance none of the £4m defenders will start GW1. I would suggest making a few drafts with no more than one £4m defender in case we need someone to step in off the bench. We might see surprise exclusions with players isolating themselves if exposed to COVID.
Those are the thoughts for now. Great to hear from you again. 👍

Heyy Bruno, I love your content
ITB: 0
GK: McCarthy, Nyland
Def: TAA, Vinagre, Justin, Mitchell, Branthwaite
Mid: Salah, Auba, Son, Ziyech, Gordon
Fwd: Werner, Mitrovic, Adams
Not sure Gordon will now get the game time with all of Evertons new signings
Also tempted by Brewster if he goes out on loan as it would be a good enabler
GW1: I originally had Greenwood benched for GW1 but thinking of taking a punt on Ziyech. This would be my GW1 transfer
GW2: Maybe bring in a Burnley defender
GW3: Auba to KDB and Son to Bruno at some point
I would love to hear what you think.
Thanks
Luke

What’s up Luke. Thanks! GKs are set. There’s a chance no £4m defenders will start GW1, so I’m still researching. PVA is back in training (Mitchell) and Palace defenders face strong attacking teams at the start.
Even though Holgate may miss out with injury, Branthwaite will need to shake off Mina from the starting lineup, unless Ancelotti goes with 3 at the back… I currently have Branthwaite in most of my drafts. Three of Everton’s first four games are against weaker attacks: WBA, CRY, BHA.
Not sure about Gordon either and yes, they could be adding new signings in midfield like Doucoure and James Rodriguez.
Good point on Brewster, I’ll keep an eye on him in case it happens.
Plan makes sense and team looks strong overall. Just the few minor notes, nothing required to change just yet.
Thanks for the comment. 👍

Hey Bruno! 1 week left!
Take a look at this draft:
ITB : 0.5
Ryan (Walton)
TAA Robertson Egan Mitchel (4.0m)
Auba Barnes (Greenwood) ASM (Stephens)
Werner DCL Kane
Plan is to get ciry players by replacing auba with one and barnes with foden. Further with some money left DCL to Martial and for now keeping werner as a placeholder for Pulisic as he is my favourite of the Chelsea atackers. Hopefully, I will be able to stick to the plan. Anyways there are a few players i have some doubts about like do you think Reece James would be starter(if yes i would really like to keep him).
And some midfield options fir 7M or under for short term, basically to get Foden after GW1/2. Would like to hear your thoughts! Thanks!
keep up the quality content.

07/09/20
Hey! I know it’s coming up quick! Liking the backline. Wish we had a nailed £4m to start the season. Keep an eye on the fitness of PVA as he was pictured in training a few days ago. Could be no-contact training, first time on the grass…
Liking the idea with Greenwood on the bench GW1. Other players are well set overall.
Good plan with Pulisic, he delivered for my team toward the end of last season. I don’t know what Lampard has in mind with his defenders. I’m surprised he loaded up on more attackers this summer instead of investing on their weakness. As long as you outscore your opponent… 🙂
I like Ward-Prowse in that price range. New contract, scoring in pre-season, on set pieces including penalties rotation with Ings. I had Mount initially. Even though he’s a Lampard favorite, he will face tougher competition to start games this season.
Appreciate the comment. 👍

Are Everton assets should be considered as a viable candidate in out FPL team? Particularly Richarlison, he is the only one worth having! If there are any more then please let me know because Everton’s fixtures are kinda good, a lot of people have been slacking on them!!!
Upper 90 Studios
07/09/20
Yes. You’re right about their fixtures and ownership. 👍 It could be a sneaky advantage and Richarlison is probably the top asset.
Let’s see what happens with their summer business as Doucoure and James Rodriguez could be on their way to strengthen the midfield and increase Richarlison’s scoring potential.

Hi bruno,
Please comment on my team
Mccarthy (Nyland)
TAA, Doherty, Vinagre (dallas) (ferguson)
Salah, Son, Auba, Ward-prowse, (Gordon)
Werner, Mitrovic, Adams
I’m thinking about going with this team above or removing che Adams or Mitrovic and buff up my midfield.
Which forward would you remove if this is the case? and can you suggest any good budget midfield option to replace Gordon?
Upper 90 Studios
09/09/20
Hi. Strong team overall, especially the team core. 👍
Only a few notes to add. Vinagre might not be nailed after the signing of left-back Marçal from PSG. Rumors Vinagre could be leaving before the transfer window closes. We’ll have more news before deadline then decide.
The other note is whether to head into the season without bench cover. That would require a compromise in at least one position in order to include a 90min regular on the bench.
The team core is set with TAA, Salah, Son, Auba, Werner, Mitro. I might look into other spots for possible cuts, but it won’t be easy.
