🚨 Final GW36+ Team! 🚨
***UPDATE: It went to the last second! Vardy out for Jesus confirmed. Salah captain. Starting Greenwood! Good luck!!! 👍💯 -Bruno
Previous updates.
One decision remaining, Jimenez versus Greenwood to start. Jimenez doesn’t match up well against my backline, Greenwood was quiet last game and took a knock to the ankle, plus FA Cup.
Hey guys! If your team did well, congrats. If not, don’t give up. Fix the small problems first or tackle the biggest challenges head on. The important thing is to keep moving forward and eventually the tide will turn in your direction.
FA Cup Rotation.
This Gameweek felt like a body blow. No matter how much we plan, sometimes our choices don’t come off as expected. With less than 24 hours to recover, there’s no time to focus on the negatives.
GW35 is archived as a learning experience. Now it’s time to create a plan before the GW36 deadline.
Caution FA Cup.
Before we begin, it’s important to note that four teams will play in the FA Cup semi-finals between GW36 and GW37: Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal. Short recovery times in multiple competitions such as the FA Cup increase the risk of injury and rotation. ⚠️
But it’s not just the players from those four teams that we must analyze in Fantasy. What does it mean for their opponents in the league? Mikel Arteta served as assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He will be relishing the chance to face his former club and show what he’s learned. Arsenal have two days rest between their league match against Liverpool on Wednesday and Man City in the FA Cup on Saturday. Will Arteta rest his regulars GW36?

GW35+ Review
Let’s break down player performances starting with the captain.
Jamie Vardy (14PTS, Captain).

Vardy wasn’t pictured in training ahead of Bournemouth, so seeing his name on the team sheet was a relief. Leicester were in control at the break (10 shots to 1) with Vardy looking sharp and scoring from close range. He could’ve added a second had it not been for a brave intervention from Nathan Ake that forced him off injured.
Vardy was on his way to three bonus points (9 total points), then Soyuncu was sent off around the hour mark causing a complete team meltdown. 😡 Down to 10 men, Leicester gifted Bournemouth four goals dropping Vardy to a single bonus point.
One way to make big leaps in the Overall Rank is to go against the popular captain pick. I was hoping for a big Vardy party, but Soyuncu ruined the fun. I will continue to roll the dice on captaincy to reach 100k.
Anthony Martial (13PTS).
What a hit! 🚀 Martial showed great control and strength to set up Rashford for the first, then smashed in United’s second after a great run. I feel more confident now with a determined Martial on my side.
⚽️ What is the best Manchester United trio in FPL?
Nick Pope (3PTS).
Another world-class performance, this time against the champions. Eight total saves, one shy of an extra point, Pope came close to earning maximum bonus points despite conceding. A late yellow card for time-wasting proved costly.
“It was Liverpool against Nick Pope” – Jurgen Klopp
Raul Jimenez (8PTS).
Jimenez scored from the penalty spot in a 3-0 win over Everton. Wolves hadn’t been creating enough chances to score and Jimenez was coming off three consecutive blanks. It was a reasonable decision to bench or sell him! Even though I dropped him, I never see bench points as a negative. With concerns over the fitness of De Bruyne and Vardy, Jimenez was there if needed.
⚽️ Jimenez has now scored 25 goals for Wolves this season.
The bad.
Salah, De Bruyne, Greenwood and Pulisic blanked. Chelsea lost 3-0! Alexander-Arnold with a 1-point bench cameo. Newcastle conceded two penalties against Watford and Lascelles got booked, 0 points.
I also sold Son (13PTS) and Rashford (7PTS) for a hit and they scored instantly. I’m still hopeful with the transfers in the same way that I justified selling Mane+Traore for KDB+Pulisic (long-term decision).
GW36+ Transfers
Transfers: 1*
Transfers OUT: Vardy
Transfers IN: Jesus
*No transfers confirmed yet. I’m waiting until Tuesday’s press conferences and don’t mind paying an extra £0.1m to have more information. It also buys more time to think.
EDIT: Transfer confirmed about half hour before deadline.
Jamie Vardy (7PTS).
The second half collapse against Bournemouth was eye-opening. Vardy’s next opponent is Sheffield United who kept back to back clean sheets in wins against Wolves (1-0) and Chelsea (3-0). The timing with injuries and suspensions couldn’t come at a worst time for Leicester who are now in danger of dropping out of the top four. FPL changes quickly. I’m taking action and making adjustments later.
Gabriel Jesus (14PTS).
Back to back 5-0 wins for Manchester City with Jesus starting both games and being subbed off around the 60th minute. I’ve been debating whether to get another City player for the run-in. Watching them against Brighton, it was a miracle that Mahrez (6PTS) didn’t score. Pep rotation and the FA Cup are real concerns. Just because KDB and Jesus came off early GW35 doesn’t guarantee they’ll start GW36.
⚽️ Gabriel Jesus is averaging 11 points in his last two games.

GW36+ Current Team
*Current team, not final. Final GW36 team will be posted at the top of the page.
Salah is currently set as captain despite managers swapping him out for Sterling. In my situation, I’m willing to take a chance to make a push in the Overall Rank. We might have early lineup leaks on Chelsea. If Pulisic starts, I may keep him as a differential vice captain in case Salah is rested.
⚽️ Salah has six goals and four assists in five games against Arsenal.

Hi!
I still have My triple captain chip left and I don’t know who to put it on in the last gameweek 38. Who do you think is the best option to put it on in the last gameweek?
Let me know!

Hi! There is FA Cup for important clubs and players this weekend, so be careful captaining a player GW37 that might get a rest. There are other captain options who do not play in the FA Cup, so it depends on whether you feel strongly about that player.
I’ve added notes on key players and my transfers on the GW37 blog post: http://upper90studios.com/all-in-no-defender-hit-ings-rashford-gw37/
You can also keep an eye on @FPL_Rockstar on Twitter for early lineup information before the kickoff. That could be massive for using a chip in any given round.

Hi Bruno
I hope you are well. Coming down to the business side of FPL now with the penultimate FPL gameweek….one or 2 big transfer or captaincy decisions can swing the season either way. Im around 580k rank currently and trying to push close to 250k mark, but need some smart strategic choices to seal the deal.
My current team is as follows:
Pope,( Martin)
Doherty, TAA, Robertson, (Aurier), ( ( Lascelles)
Sterling, Salah, Fernandes, Martial, Foden
Ings, Vardy,( Greenwood)
I am trying look for big potential match winners that can make a difference to my team.
Keeping that in mind, I have the following possible transfer options:
Option 1(free transfer):
Vardy> Jesus
Maximise Man City attack potential, is Jesus likely to start is probably the biggest question. Pep appears not to be playing the false 9 much recently….
Option 2(-8)
Vardy>Jesus
Greenwood> Wood
TAA/ Robo> Tarkowski or other
Wood vs Norwhich seems tasty, he as they struggle on crosses and got a haul on the reverse fixture.
Option 3(-4)
Vardy>Wood
Foden>Mahrez or Antonio
Option 4
Vardy>Kane
Greenwood>Wood
TAA/Robo>K Long or other
Kane seems to be finding some form and has a good record against Leicester, the team he has scored the most goals against, also Palace next week….
With my current team which of the above transfer options would you recommend or how would you rank them ?
Captain choice, im thinking of Martial, Sterling or Ings. Your views?

Hi. Sorry I couldn’t reply in time before the price changes. Hopefully it didn’t affect your plan which I’m reading now.
“Big potential match winners that can make a difference to my team.” >>> I’m using the same strategy for the last two rounds. 👍
Option 1 is nice and clean with Jesus and no Aguero for competition. City have the highest goal scoring potential as a team and I’m betting on them despite the rotation risk.
I also like Option 2. Liverpool fullbacks did well in terms of attacking potential. Defending was a problem as we’ve seen for quite some time. Wood is a smart pick, the concern is his injury record and stamina but I understand your motive.
Option 3 can also work. I’ve gone for Mahrez for my team as a gamble.
Option 4 is a bit riskier with Kane. I didn’t think he played well against Newcastle, but we know what he’s capable of.
I might rank them 1, tie between 2+3, then 4.
I have Ings set as captain, but Martial is a top option as well as Sterling (assuming he starts).

I meant to say Option 1 first, then a tie between 2+3. I like the ones with Jesus which brings Option 2 back up.
I’m editing the previous reply.

Thanks Buddy. Appreciate the feedback. I have decided to go with option 1….brought in Jesus just before price rise last night.
Liverpool receiving trophy this week, so it might uplift their performance and then theres Chelsea defence……
Who to captain, a last minute decision, but as City always go on a scoring spree against Watford( 6 nil and 8 nil in last 2 matches alone) I think I might go with a Man City player…..possibly Sterling, other option is Jesus…..
Enjoy the soccer 🙂 and good luck👍🏼

I like it. He’s a top option while Aguero is recovering. Good luck!
