🚨 Final GW36+ Team! 🚨
***UPDATE: It went to the last second! Vardy out for Jesus confirmed. Salah captain. Starting Greenwood! Good luck!!! 👍💯 -Bruno
Previous updates.
One decision remaining, Jimenez versus Greenwood to start. Jimenez doesn’t match up well against my backline, Greenwood was quiet last game and took a knock to the ankle, plus FA Cup.
Hey guys! If your team did well, congrats. If not, don’t give up. Fix the small problems first or tackle the biggest challenges head on. The important thing is to keep moving forward and eventually the tide will turn in your direction.
FA Cup Rotation.
This Gameweek felt like a body blow. No matter how much we plan, sometimes our choices don’t come off as expected. With less than 24 hours to recover, there’s no time to focus on the negatives.
GW35 is archived as a learning experience. Now it’s time to create a plan before the GW36 deadline.
Caution FA Cup.
Before we begin, it’s important to note that four teams will play in the FA Cup semi-finals between GW36 and GW37: Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal. Short recovery times in multiple competitions such as the FA Cup increase the risk of injury and rotation. ⚠️
But it’s not just the players from those four teams that we must analyze in Fantasy. What does it mean for their opponents in the league? Mikel Arteta served as assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He will be relishing the chance to face his former club and show what he’s learned. Arsenal have two days rest between their league match against Liverpool on Wednesday and Man City in the FA Cup on Saturday. Will Arteta rest his regulars GW36?

GW35+ Review
Let’s break down player performances starting with the captain.
Jamie Vardy (14PTS, Captain).

Vardy wasn’t pictured in training ahead of Bournemouth, so seeing his name on the team sheet was a relief. Leicester were in control at the break (10 shots to 1) with Vardy looking sharp and scoring from close range. He could’ve added a second had it not been for a brave intervention from Nathan Ake that forced him off injured.
Vardy was on his way to three bonus points (9 total points), then Soyuncu was sent off around the hour mark causing a complete team meltdown. 😡 Down to 10 men, Leicester gifted Bournemouth four goals dropping Vardy to a single bonus point.
One way to make big leaps in the Overall Rank is to go against the popular captain pick. I was hoping for a big Vardy party, but Soyuncu ruined the fun. I will continue to roll the dice on captaincy to reach 100k.
Anthony Martial (13PTS).
What a hit! 🚀 Martial showed great control and strength to set up Rashford for the first, then smashed in United’s second after a great run. I feel more confident now with a determined Martial on my side.
⚽️ What is the best Manchester United trio in FPL?
Nick Pope (3PTS).
Another world-class performance, this time against the champions. Eight total saves, one shy of an extra point, Pope came close to earning maximum bonus points despite conceding. A late yellow card for time-wasting proved costly.
“It was Liverpool against Nick Pope” – Jurgen Klopp
Raul Jimenez (8PTS).
Jimenez scored from the penalty spot in a 3-0 win over Everton. Wolves hadn’t been creating enough chances to score and Jimenez was coming off three consecutive blanks. It was a reasonable decision to bench or sell him! Even though I dropped him, I never see bench points as a negative. With concerns over the fitness of De Bruyne and Vardy, Jimenez was there if needed.
⚽️ Jimenez has now scored 25 goals for Wolves this season.
The bad.
Salah, De Bruyne, Greenwood and Pulisic blanked. Chelsea lost 3-0! Alexander-Arnold with a 1-point bench cameo. Newcastle conceded two penalties against Watford and Lascelles got booked, 0 points.
I also sold Son (13PTS) and Rashford (7PTS) for a hit and they scored instantly. I’m still hopeful with the transfers in the same way that I justified selling Mane+Traore for KDB+Pulisic (long-term decision).
GW36+ Transfers
Transfers: 1*
Transfers OUT: Vardy
Transfers IN: Jesus
*No transfers confirmed yet. I’m waiting until Tuesday’s press conferences and don’t mind paying an extra £0.1m to have more information. It also buys more time to think.
EDIT: Transfer confirmed about half hour before deadline.
Jamie Vardy (7PTS).
The second half collapse against Bournemouth was eye-opening. Vardy’s next opponent is Sheffield United who kept back to back clean sheets in wins against Wolves (1-0) and Chelsea (3-0). The timing with injuries and suspensions couldn’t come at a worst time for Leicester who are now in danger of dropping out of the top four. FPL changes quickly. I’m taking action and making adjustments later.
Gabriel Jesus (14PTS).
Back to back 5-0 wins for Manchester City with Jesus starting both games and being subbed off around the 60th minute. I’ve been debating whether to get another City player for the run-in. Watching them against Brighton, it was a miracle that Mahrez (6PTS) didn’t score. Pep rotation and the FA Cup are real concerns. Just because KDB and Jesus came off early GW35 doesn’t guarantee they’ll start GW36.
⚽️ Gabriel Jesus is averaging 11 points in his last two games.

GW36+ Current Team
*Current team, not final. Final GW36 team will be posted at the top of the page.
Salah is currently set as captain despite managers swapping him out for Sterling. In my situation, I’m willing to take a chance to make a push in the Overall Rank. We might have early lineup leaks on Chelsea. If Pulisic starts, I may keep him as a differential vice captain in case Salah is rested.
⚽️ Salah has six goals and four assists in five games against Arsenal.

Hi Bruno, It may be because of months of no football and I forget or may be you just don’t do them anymore but can you tell me how i watch your videos again or have you stopped posting videos? Cheers.
Upper 90 Studios
14/07/20
Hi. I’ve stopped posting them temporarily because of the short turnaround between Gameweeks. Not enough time to watch all the games and research then record and edit videos. The blogs are quicker for now until the season returns to normal.
Thanks.

Hi bruno ,
i already bought Jesus for Vardy cuz can’t afford 0.1 .
I am thinking if we have early chelsea news , should i play FH this gw or should i keep for GW38 .
De gea
TAA, Boly, Richie (aurier, Kiko)
Fernandes, De bruyne, Salah, Foden (Saka)
DCL Jesus Rashford
first sub Aurier , but his brother was killed i dont know if he plays, and what about captancy De bruyne ? Jesus ? Salah ?
Upper 90 Studios
14/07/20
Hi. I’m most likely doing the same with the forwards, although I paid the £0.1m last night. 🙂
That’s a difficult decision with the FH. I’m hesitant to say yes, then Chelsea players are subbed early with the FA Cup in mind. If you do use it, early Chelsea news could be an advantage and opportunity to take a risk.
On the other hand, since your team is already strong, there is no issue saving the FH.
You might just wait and trust your instinct after seeing if there is concrete Chelsea news.
I have the armband on Salah. Arteta just hinted at resting his regulars vs. Liverpool. Any City attacker is a great option as well, I might give a small edge to Jesus this round. There is an even greater risk of rotation now, no one is safe in any team.

Hey Bruno big decisions to be made, here is how my team lines up currently
Henderson
TAA, Doherty, baldock
Pulisic, Salah, Foden, Bruno
Ings, Jimenez, Greenwood
and on the bench i have
Martial, dunk and Tarkowski
Still to decide who to bench and who should get the armband, any advise
Upper 90 Studios
14/07/20
Hey. We have similar players. I can speak for my team and I will likely hand the armband to Salah. Arteta could rest his regulars vs. Liverpool with an eye on Man City in the FA Cup.
Might give an edge to starting Martial over Greenwood, but trust your instinct over my advice if you’re feeling this lineup. 👍
Looking good.

Hi. Excellent team. Nuno said Wolves are dealing with some knocks, and Burnley are well-organized defensively. No major issue starting Pope as a gamble.
According to our cheatsheet, McCarthy has a green fixture this round. The concern is Brighton had been looking dangerous in the attack prior to the City game.
Stuck on the GK decision. Both are capable of big performances and points.
AWB should’ve scored in the last game and instead ended up on 0pts. He’s a hard one to assess so trust your instinct. You have Doherty who’s also capable (assuming he starts). I’m also thinking a Liverpool attacking defender like TAA/Robertson against Arsenal, but the price might require big changes that will affect your team balance.
Up to you because the team is set as is. 👍

Hi Bruno
Who should get the armband between Salah, Fernandes & Martial? I’ve been thinking and all of them are good contenders.
Thanks Bruno

14/07/20
Hi. Currently taking a chance on Salah vs. Arsenal. Arteta just said today that he might be forced to rest his regulars vs. Liverpool in preparation for the FA Cup.
Salah will be excited to hear that, but there is always a risk of even he being rested.
Between Fernandes and Martial, maybe the smallest edge to Martial but both are strong.

Hi Bruno, quick turnaround so right to the question
Have 1ft and 0.9 banked.
Mid Mane, KdB, Pulisic, Fernandes, D Luiz
Greenwood, Inges, Jimenez
Thinking of the following, Mane out, D luiz out for Martial and the. either Folden or Marhez and going 3 5 3.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Citizen.

Hi. Martial looks possessed. Just be aware that United play in the FA Cup while Liverpool do not. Be prepared if it doesn’t quite come off in the very next Gameweek due to rotation. It should work in the long run.
Leaning toward Foden between the two, assuming Guardiola doesn’t do something even more out of the ordinary.
I would say it’s either gambling with Mane one last time vs. Arsenal (Arteta may rotate heavily) or the option with Foden.

Hello Sir ,
Taking antonio for kdb , is the right move ??
Upper 90 Studios
14/07/20
Hello. No right or wrong answer, both could score well. The question is whether KDB will start this one as they have the FA Cup semifinal this weekend. If KDB starts, he’s a top pick against Bournemouth without their best defender Ake.
I’m willing to keep KDB but Antonio is in the form of his life. I don’t have a set answer for this one, only my thoughts on the players. Trust your instinct. 👍

Hi. It’s super close to deadline, going to be a close call.
FH could work either this round (check @FPL_Rockstar on Twitter for early Chelsea lineups), or GW38 is a good option.

Hi bruno really bad scores since the restart. The unlimited transfers really hurt me as I used my wildcard in gw29 and got in the likes of foden and mahrez that I took out with the unlimited transfers. It’s been rough and from outside 300k to outside 600k. I’ve tried to be different the whole season but they end up getting injured or just don’t perform (e.g. getting redmond, sarr, aguero, fabianski, leno (just to name a few) just for them to get injuries) People like Harry Kane which I stupidly took a -12 to get (so I could keep Vardy and Auba who have performed decently since then) and captained twice really have not repaid me despite playing Bournemouth, and having great records against the likes of Everton and Arsenal. Then last week I forgot to make transfers (which would have been Kane and Doucoure to Antonio and Rashford (Rashford has been underperforming for quite a while now and Antonio really had good stats even before Norwich)) and now I am just stuck on what to do. Is it time to give up, come back next season and try and play safe like I did last season. (top 21k which isn’t exceptional but was decent)
My team now is (still have free hit either use it this week or gw38 probably the latter as alr have triple man city)
McCarthy
TAA Mendy AWB
Doucoure Foden KDB Fernandes
Auba Kane Vardy
Subs: Foster Lamptey Guendouzi Lascelles
Shortlist
Jesus/mahrez/sterling/DSilva (alr 3 man city players so hard)
Mcgoldrick/mcburnie???
Richarlison (really think he could score in 3 straight home games)
Chris wood?
Ings/jwp/armstrong (ings probably the best option for strikers but so many options for Kane replacement and Ings didn’t convince me last night)
Antonio/bowen/soucek (but prob js antonio but feels like chasing points since I alr missed out last gw)
Deeney
Trossard (and maybe maupay) (another interesting option in my opinion, decent form, great fixtures)
Aurier
Tierney??
Digne
Salah (Feel very inclined to bring him in, most touches in opposition box in last few gws, really unfortunate against Burnley, chasing golden boot as well, talk of being rested doesn’t really make sense to me as he would probably ask Klopp to play him every gameweek)
Tammy (good numbers but poor finishing so if he starts possible (his delta xG is really very high)), Giroud (good form, playing for a move away potentially and it’s norwich), pulisic (not the best xG but looks good on the eye test) and Willian (on penalties and set pieces especially if Jorginho does not play)
2 free transfers and 0.7m itb. Thoughts are potentially KDB to DSilva, Doucoure to Salah and kane to giroud/tammy maybe? But there are so many options and would love to hear your opinion. Sorry for a long one.
