Hi Bruno, apologies in advance for a really long post!! I hope you had a well deserved green arrow week! Ive had an okay week myself and all thanks to your advise. I’m planning on some tweaks for my team (mainly to get pulisic but i am really not sure if it is worth getting him in terms of rotation risk). Hence, I would greatly appreciate your opinion on it.
Current Team (0.5m itb) :
Ryan (Button)
Robertson Soyuncu Lundstram (Rico, Kelly)
Mane Maddison KDB Mount (Cantwell)
Auba Tammy Vardy
Option A (0.1m itb):
Ryan (Button)
Robertson Soyuncu Lundstram (Rico, Kelly)
Mane Maddison KDB Pulisic (Dendoncker)
Auba Tammy Vardy
Option B (0.3m itb):
Henderson (Button)
Robertson TAA Soyuncu (Lundstram, Rico)
Mane Maddison KDB Pulisic (Cantwell)
Jimenez Tammy Vardy
Option C (0.2m itb):
Henderson (Button)
TAA Soyuncu Tomori (Lundstram, Rico)
Mane Maddison KDB Pulisic (Mount)
Jimenez Tammy Vardy
Option D (0.1m itb):
Henderson (Button)
TAA Chillwell Lundstram (Rico, Kelly)
Mane Maddison KDB Pulisic (Mount)
Jimenez Tammy Vardy
I am really torn between these options especially with options B, C, D would mean losing Auba who has a great run of games. I understand jimenez also have a great run of games but i am not experienced enough in this game to judge who could outscore who. Also, bear in mind that option A would only require (-4) while options B,C,D would require up to (-12) which of course i will spread across 2-3 GWs especially options where tomori and henderson are involved i will only make changes to them after i make changes to the others.
Once again, sorry for the long post. I really appreciate your inputs and any other suggestions you might have for my team. Thank you so much in advance!!

Hi. Thanks! Not a problem. Sometimes these are the easiest to read with all your thoughts and different ideas.
Spreading out the moves with Henderson makes sense as he is not available GW13 because of the terms of his loan. 👍
No major difference between Robertson and TAA at this moment. I’m trying out both as an experiment with their upcoming fixtures.
Option A is similar to your current team, the hits make it harder to justify but it could work. If Pulisic continues to outscore Mount, then it would be more clear. The problem is Man City next is difficult to predict.
The main question is Aubameyang. According to our fixture cheatsheet, Arsenal attackers had a bad run recently. Their attackers struggled. Now, their fixtures turn green. As a non Auba owner, I would be afraid of his points ceiling against easier opponents. As an owner, I would be worried about Arsenal behind the scenes with Emery. Southampton next is a great opportunity to get back on track, but it’s also not easy to trust Arsenal on current form.
I like your current team for GW13, starting with a no hit advantage. Your call whether to make changes now, or wait until we have info from another round of games.
At this moment, Auba is the big decision and I don’t have an easy solution.
All of your options could work, including your current team. Option B is the closest to my current squad and feels like a solid team overall with players from teams in good form.
Hope these thoughts can get you closer to a decision. I know it’s not easy. Thanks for the comment!

Hey Bruno hope you’re well!
I just wanted to get your advise on something. I’ve never played the team value game before and thus never had such a large team value before. This season due to some fortune my TV is currently 105.2m with 0.4m ITB. That’s higher than my end of season team value has ever been!🤯
My team: Ryan (Lewis)
TAA, Soy, Lundstram (Rico, Tomori)
Sterling, KDB, Mane, Mount, (Hayden)
Tammy, Vardy, Jimenez
Due to this high value I’m not forced to sell my big players which I’m not sure is a good or bad thing. Where others have Martial/Maddison/Tielemans/Pulisic I have a big player merely because I can afford it. I’m not sure how to distribute the funds in my team as I already have benching headaches and every week I have points on my bench. Spreading out the funds more just means more on the bench. I’m not exactly sure what to do here any and all advise would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi, just a quick reaction, your message made me smile :).
My TV is on 104,0. Just starting to get those benching problems. OR somewhere 780k or so.
My team for GW13:
Pope
TAA, Soy, Lunny
Mane, Madders, KDB, Raz,
Jimmy, Tammy, Mousset
(Button, Lowton, Tomori, Odoi)
This 104,0 includes 1,5 ITB to make a major move. Already used my transfer. Considering taking the -4 now, or taking it to GW14.
Luxury, so much ‘money’ :D.
All the best, Wouter

Hey. That TV could be very helpful when you decide to use the chips. 👍
Your team is set at the moment, not seeing major concerns.
Keep an eye on the City mids in case they continue to blank. Then consider players you mentioned if needed.
Appreciate the update!

Hi Bruno
My Status: OR=318k; TV=102.5; ITB=0.0; FT=1; Chips – All available
My Team:
Ryan (Button)
TAA | Soyuncu | Lundstram (Rico | Kelly)
Salah | Sterling | De Bruyne | Mount (Dendonker)
Vardy | Abraham | Ayew
My Strategy for the Season:
* 1st third of the season (GW1-12) – play conservatively and gain a good OR by owning “highly owned” players and taking limited ‘hits’ (I’ve only taken TWO (-4) hits so far).
* 2nd third of the season (GW13-25) – cover “festive season rotation/injuries” with a strong ‘nailed’ bench (@ least positions #1 & #2) and use 1st Wildcard in GW20 to re-set team after Liverpool’s blank [GW18] and set team up for new year in preparation for Blank- & Double GW’s.
* Final third of the season (GW26-38) – attack Blank- & Double GW’s using Chips & 2nd Wildcard
So far, I think the plan is working out well – I have a solid team with a ‘reasonable’ bench; I have a good OR. As you can see, I’m about to transition to ‘phase 2’ of my plan (GW13-25).
My Watchlist:
Tomori; Maddison; Pulisic; Jiminez; Ings
My Thoughts:
* If I sell Sterling/De Bruyne for Maddison, I would be able to fund a few “upgrades” E.g. Mount>Pulisic; Ayew>Jiminez/Ings; Rico/Kelly>Tomori
* Danny Ings plays some of the worst defenses in the league over the next 6 GW’s (ARS, WAT, NOR, NEW, WHU, AVL)
My Questions:
1. What are your thoughts of my strategy and potential transfer plans in general? (Keeping only one City player; possible ‘triple-ups’ on Chelsea & Leicester)
2. Who would provide better ‘bench cover’ over this period, Rico or Kelly?
3. Is it worth replacing Mount with Pulisic?
4. Who do you think scores more points over this period, Jiminez or Ings?
5. Who do I sell between Sterling/De Bruyne?
6. Have you given any thought to planning around Liverpool’s GW18 blank?
(Obviously, all of this is subject to updates on the fitness of Salah & Pulisic after the IB as well as news of any new injury concerns)
Thanks so much
Grant

Hi Grant,
Congrats on the OR at this stage. You’re in a great position able to make up ground quickly.
Liking your Watchlist. 👍
1. I should’ve listened to your 1st third strategy… I tried, but I’m not the most patient when it comes to transfers. 🙂 Excellent advice.
2. Rico feels a bit more nailed than Kelly, although Ward suffered a knock in the last game. Need an update. The problem is Bournemouth have difficult fixtures now. Crystal Palace are still not out of their tough run.
3. Not at this moment because they face Man City next. Mount has been playing well, but not bringing the same points as Pulisic.
4. Leaning toward Jimenez who is also stronger as far as injuries. Every factor counts.
5. Don’t know this one. KDB has a higher ownership with strong FPL managers and might be safer to keep.
6. Just glanced at it. I prefer to focus most of my attention on the next 2-3 GWs. With 2FTs, it shouldn’t be a problem. I may even call on the bench which is suddenly stronger with rotation between Jimenez, Mount, Lundstram and others depending on form.
Great team update, advice and plan.

I’m thinking of holding on to Ings because of the good run fixtures coming up, so I used my 2 free transfers to transfer out Sterling to get Maddison and Martial. Was it a good move?
Since I’m not getting Jimenez now I’m thinking to transfer out Mcginn to get Moutinho or Traore, which one is the better choice? Thanks for your help!!!

Hi. Sorry for the late reply, used this time to take a nice break.
Liking the moves. It’s a similar idea to my current thought, investing on more quality players instead of relying on fewer premium which can force cuts in other positions.
Both good. If injuries weren’t an issue, I prefer Traore. It could work in the short term while he’s in great form.

Hi Bruno
Overall a pretty good GW12 scoring 72pts and moving up to 211k OR.
Key performers were Pope, Soy, Martial, Salah, Abraham and Jimenez as captain which helped to off-set Vardy and Maddision.
Below is my current team. 1FT/ITB£0.5/WC;
Pope – (Button)
VVD / Soy /Lundstram / Janmaart – (Rico)
Salah / Sterling / KDB c / Martial – (Mount)
Abraham / Jimenez – (Greenwood)
I feel over-invested in Manchester City midfielders, given their patchy form and tricky fixtures: Kevin De Bruyne (£10.2m) and Sterling feels too much right now.
Also with the emergence of a template forward 3 of Vardy, Abraham and Jimenez and the worry is l only have Soy.
l also want to up-grade VVD to one of TAA or Robinson next GW if l can.
The big issue I need to decide on, is which Man City midfielder to ditch. The underlying stats aren’t great for Sterling or KDB, with Sterling seemingly stuck on the wing, without Benjamin Mendy in the side.
KDB seems the better value in the long term and with Sterling already on four yellow cards and a ban looming, that might give me just the excuse to move him on now.
So the move could well be Sterling / Greenwood OUT > Vardy / Tielemans -4 pts and bench Mount & Janmaart this week or do l stick as l fancy Man City against Chelsea this week and give Sterling one last chance??
All the best

Hi Malc,
Sorry for the late reply, I was on a short break.
Excellent score and OR. 👍
At the moment, it seems that Robertson and Salah could miss GW13 (according to Sky Sports News). I prefer TAA also for the attacking potential.
I can speak for my own team, and I’m currently on the idea to drop Sterling for Mane, then keep a close eye on KDB. If he fails to deliver and Spurs raise their game after Pochettino was sacked, I may swap out KDB to Son. It’s based on performances, and I’m likely to wait on Son because he can be benched after international duty with South Korea.
GW13 video talks about the transfer plan: https://youtu.be/TE6juyqqqfQ
If forced, I might sell Sterling first. As you said, he is on four yellows. Not that he’ll pick up a ban anytime soon, but every factor counts. Sterling has a decent chance against Chelsea’s defense. Depends on which City side turns up.
With the news of Salah being set to miss GW13, I wish we had all the info from Klopp before making transfers.
Currently, my strategy is to spread the risk over more players like Vardy and Maddison which requires cuts to premium assets. In my case, I sold Salah last week to fund moves for Vardy, Maddison, Jimenez and Robertson, which also improved the bench.

Hi Bruno
Thanks for the heads up regarding Salah l missed that one!
The way l see it is l have 3 options;
Option 1 which is Salah > Mane (£0.7ITB) – which leaves me exposed to lack of Leicester cover.
Option 2. Salah / Sterling / Greenwood out > Mane / Vardy / Tielemans (0.1 short to get Maddison) for a -8 pt hit (£0.7ITB) – l have been trying to avoid to many hits having only taken 2 -4 pt hits so far but still leaves me with WC to plan for Christmas fixtures.
Option 3 use my WC with the following squad leaving £0.3ITB;
Gazzanigna / Button
TAA / PVA / Lundstram / Soy / Reid
Mane / KDB / Maddison / Martial / Hayden
Vardy / Abraham / Jimenez
l really am unsure which way to jump both Vardy & Maddison look to probably rise tonight and l may be priced out of these moves if l don’t act now!!
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey Malc. I would say Vardy and Maddison are key players in the long run. This weekend is not the easiest against Brighton, although Brighton didn’t play well against United GW12.
I really didn’t want to take hits last week, especially after a few too many -4 hits recently. But I realized that there was no way to bring in both Leicester attackers without a -8 hit, and it involved dropping Salah to fund the moves.
Option 1 is reasonable if Salah’s minutes are managed with the ankle issue. Going without Leicester players this week could be ok as far as points. As you said, price changes are a factor and you could be priced out by waiting. Although by next week, the way to get the Leicester players you really want could be easier to see.
Option 2 would be easier if it meant Maddison. Before taking the big hit last week, I tried drafts without Maddison and always reverted back to him.
Option 3 would bring in all the players without worrying about prices. On the flip side, banking the WC could be helpful if Spurs raise their level, although you do have flexibility such as KDB to Son if needed.
I would say it’s between Options 1 and 3. With Option 1, you might have a clearer plan for Maddison next week (price changes annoying). We’re not really mentioning Mane, but he is the one key player in all the options.
I’m stuck on this decision. If it was my team, I would take time away from it and come back after clearing my head.

Hi bruno,
I would really appreciate your help and suggestion at the moment.
I have got Robertson as my defender. And there are news that he might not play this weekend. Do you think I should make a switch to TAA?
Also, whata your opinion on these 2 set ups for the next few gws:
TAA Robertson soyuncu lundstram (4-4-2) with vardy and tammy upfront.
Or Roberston/TAA soyuncu lundstram (3-4-3) with vardy, tammy, Jimenez upfront.
Thanks alot as always!

Hi. Yes, just a few minutes ago, Sky Sports said that Robertson and Salah are set to miss the Crystal Palace game. TAA feels the safer option for the weekend.
Stuck choosing between your options for the future. They’re so close! I have TAA, Robbo and Jimenez, which makes it even more difficult to decide.
For now, going with just one Liverpool defender is the safer option, at least until we hear more news from Klopp.

If Salah doesn’t play in gw13 then is it worth bringing in Mane with the (-4) hit? The fixture is looking good and Salah’s ankle injury is causing problems on his performance!!!
Upper 90 Studios
21/11/19
When I sold Salah, it was for a number of reasons, and the ankle problem was one of them. In his last game in my team, he was subbed off early to protect the ankle. Didn’t like hearing from Klopp that they’ve taken out fluid from the ankle, then it comes back.
He seemed to have shaken it off against Man City, but that collision with Fernandinho hurt him again. I don’t know whether he is 100% recovered from the issue. If he is fully-fit, he is a great option.
Of course, the -4 hit makes it harder to justify, but it does reduce some risk as far as the injury at this moment.
