Hey Bruno,
I had decided to us my wildcard during GW2 also. I think efficiancy is the most important thing to consider when using it as opposed to what GW. If you can get in early on assets that will have rising value it can give you a competitive advantage.
I knew PUKKI was player of the year and had the Golden boot in the Championship. It wasn’t so much his hat trick against Newcastle that confirmed him for me, it was his play against Liverpool and Daniel Farke’s post match interview with Carra that he stated quiet clearly : Norwich will not change their philosphy for fear of the bigger teams.
Thats says to me Pukki will be set up for a high goal scoring season again, how Noriwch will do overall remains to be seen, perhaps it will be judged to be naive or a master stroke only time will tell.
McGinn looks a good option too, guarenteed playing time, has plenty of shots on goal, is in the box plenty and 7 goals and 9 assists last year. He’s a good price and has some nice fixtures.
Ceballos, carries a bit more risk for me, but I really like him and I have a good feeling about him. He hasn’t got a massive goal scoring history but I think he will have more oppurtnity to flourish at Arsenal so I’m definitly keeping an eye on him. His fixtures aren’t as favourable on paper as McGinns., but if he plays the way he did against Newcastle, the games against tottenham and united shouldn’t bee maybe as bad as people think.
Anyways, let’s see how united and wolves fair out tongiht, Jota has been looking dangerous.
Best of luck this Game Week!! and thanks for all your tips!

Hey. I’m glad to hear your thoughts on the early Wildcard. There are positives and negatives, being on the right side of price changes is a benefit. Going with too unique of a team is a danger.
I couldn’t agree more with Pukki. I wasn’t familiar with him until this season, but he is a special player. He is too calm in front of goal. Everything slows down for him, it’s too easy.
Wow, you are reading my thoughts on McGinn and Ceballos. I’m having a hard time choosing between them, might even end up with neither! I’m using all the time this week to play with different combinations.
Jota was ok. Wolves were poor in the first half, can’t remember a single shot attempt. They came to life in the second. Jota escaped a few times on the left, but his crosses didn’t hit the targets. Europa League is a factor.
Good luck to you too, and I really enjoyed reading your comment.

Been trying to follow you. Think I’m going to pull the trigger on McGinn to Martial after that goal.

Hi
Has anyone had the same problem in not being able to see Finance and Transfers of other competitors, like before. Not sure if FPL has changed this option not being viewable anymore or if it is just my side?.
Cheers.

Hi Pipshake,
Noticed the same. All we now see is GW-history. Can’t see any transfer activity or changes in bankaccounts for a next GW, as used to, either. Needs further investigation. Tips welcome.

Yes. They removed the transfers and Team Value from opponents. Can’t see them anymore.

Happy to say that i listened to your advice on not swapping Perez for Ceballos yesterday! Here’s my new transfer plan (the players I plan on selling are in parentheses):
Ryan, Button
PVA, Kelly, (Robertson) Lundstram, VVD, Digne
Salah, Sterling, (Siggy) KDB, (Perez), Martial, Dendoncker
King, Pukki, Greenwood
That leaves me with a -8 hit and 1.7 mil in the bank which i want to use for a transfer after GW3 from Button to probably pope so I can rotate keepers, esp when Ryan has that GW4 man city match (Pope doesn’t have a much better fixture, but for the long term I feel like this would be helpful)
However, that does mean I have to sacrifice Robertson even though I’d like to keep him. I would rather swap out PVA or King but the problem PVA doesnt give me the 0.5 mil in the bank I need to make that GK upgrade and for King, there aren’t other forward options that fit in my budget and are good. So, I chose Robertson because he doesn’t seem to be attacking as much and his price looks like it’ll be going down 0.1 before GW3. The only other option that would get that extra 0.5 is VVD but he still has that massive set piece goal threat and might get some bonus points. Do you think this makes sense or do I not need to worry about keeper rotation? Also, do you have any other defensive recommendations below 5 mil?
Cheers and have a good one!

Nice! Sometimes it’s worth to absorb that 0.1m in order to have a clear mind. When it’s too big of a change in price, then we can reassess!
I like it. Your thought process and plan makes sense. I agree on VVD and can understand your change at the back. GK rotation is something I’m still deciding for my own team, so I can’t give a concrete answer at this stage. You might be ok with just Ryan in goal, as you said, Pope also has a difficult fixture GW4.
Below 5mil? Maybe Dunk, but Ryan makes it trickier.
Need an update on Digne’s injury and it should be in good shape.

Hi Bruno,
Thx again for all the effort you put in sharing your knowledge 🙂 I’ve been learning a lot!
I wanna have your advice on my team change. I’ve thought as well about using the wildcard this week.
My current team;
Ryan, Button
Robertson, van Dijk, Digne, van Aanholt, Kelly
Sterling, Salah, Perez, Siggy, Dendonker
Wilson, King, Greenwood
After Wildcard thoughts;
Ryan, Button
van Dijk, Digne, van Bissaka, Dunk
Sterling, Salah, Ceballos, Martial, De Bruyne
Pukki, King, Greenwood
Right now it works with the 100m$ but I’m afraid prices will go up.
I do hesitate between Martial and Moura though for example…
If you have an advice, opinion or anything I could have missed or not thought about it would be more than welcome!
Cheers! Keep it up! All the best!

Hi. Thank you, always great to hear that. 👍
I really like your Wildcard, you’ve made it very difficult for me! haha. I don’t want to say yes or no with the Wildcard, that is up to you.
I think you could get away with keeping some of the weaker performers in the original team, but that midfield and Pukki is looking strong.
Can see the concern between Martial and Moura. I might give a small edge to MArtial because Moura sometimes gets benched, as we saw against Man City.
If you were to go with the Wildcard, I might also consider Wickham in for Greenwood in case Benteke continues to misfire. Greenwood might not get as many chances as Ole hinted at. Hard to tell.
Everything is strong, maybe King is the one I would look at for alternatives, but I would need to think about your idea of keeping him.
The main decision is whether to go for it or not. If you do, I would go quickly so you get on the right side of price changes. The danger is moving away from the safety of the strong FPL manager’s template.

Hi. I like it a lot. I’m still deciding what to do with Salah. I really want to keep him as that could’ve just been a side-effect from the 120min Super Cup.
That’s one main note for your team. The other could be a decision on whether to keep a Liverpool defender and Digne. Need an update on Digne’s injury. Either way, you should be set with this and build from it if needed.
Also keep in mind McGinn as a differential, but not required for your team.
Up to you in the end, I’ve already gone through different emotions with my Wildcard decision. Happy and confident, then scared, now a little more calm. 🙂

I like this. I have a draft that is very similar. We might have a few different defenders, but it’s nothing that should make you change your idea.
I will post my latest ideas on the GW3 coming soon.

Okay I’m totally down with the cause of the gw3 wildcard play, after 2 weeks i feel like ive seen enough to make solid long term plan for now and can slowly make adjustments one by one if need be on weekly basis based on fixtures.
I’ve decided that i think its best for 4-5-1 formation.
De Gea
Dunk- Wan-Bissaka- Digne – TAA – Lundstram
Sterling- De Bruyne- Salah – Martial – Ndombele
Pukki- (Wickham- Martinelli)
At the end of the day balance was what I favored for long term. Obviously my problem and desperate want/need was the very strong and in form Mane. However his price of 11.5 was just too much and i felt that my team suffered everywhere because of it. I opted for De Bruyne who if healthy is a magician for getting balls in the box and there is so much firepower at city no matter who pep rotates the bottom line is KDB is that good that pep cant sit him if hes healthy period, and he covers me at 9.5M if i want to grab Son now that he is in business again. Which now leads me to get more fire power upfront but why do i have to settle for a “forward”. Martial is THE forward for man u right now and although they drew against wolves man u has a great run of fixtures and i like the martial/rashford team rn just rashford is 1M more expensive and ill settle for martial at 7.6 and a mid fielder who yields more points and i feel dumb missing out on man u points rn when they looking solid in my opinion i think they will contend well this year. Martial ill gamble on over barnes and king. Maybe im biased bc im a diehard spurs fan but as a scout i love this Ndombele guy and i think he is only warming up. This guy is so talented, his dribbling, passing, ability to shoot and make others around him better especially kane, lucas and now son coming back, 6.1M is steal and im kicking myself for not taking him at 6M out the gate as spurs fan. Therefore instead of Jota ill opt for Pukki even with his tough run of fixture Norwich looks strong, they riding the promotion high and Pukki is showing he aint messing around and at 6.7M im covered for king or jota or barnes. Most people have virgil but i think long term with place kicks and corners TAA will shine through and at 7M until virgil passes him on price ill take TAA with no alisson and clean sheets in the ?, although i couldnt give up on liverpool defense just yet. I opted to not double up at the price but stuck with TAA he could score lots of goals this season. My other problem was wan-bissaka or kyle walker, walker is a proven back who holds his position with pep and on a clean sheet making machine squad but with KDB and others i dont see him getting many attack returns and Man u fixtures r just looking so good rn, and bissaka seems to be lightening out there and gets very involved i think time should show rewards with him. City can crush Bourn but they could let up a goal in my mind. I think man u gameplan sets up bissaka for attack return and clean sheet points and i can get dunk the captain of brighton who looks decent this season instead of kelly in defense and in my opinion i dont wanna put my faith in crystal palace rn they look like trash. De Gea or Pickford for me i was pickford before but i think the class of man u with their fixtures with the almighty de gea should hold strong, we know what he can do. Digne with evertons fixtures i couldnt give up on and his attack potential is just too strong, they still have great fixtures and i at least have some everton cover. I feel like while skipping on Mane i have spread myself strongly top to bottom that long term even without using transfers i can make good rotations within my own team, with Digne on Knock this week.

Right. That’s my plan as well. Making small adjustments if needed.
It’s excellent. Loving the 4-5-1 idea. I would note Digne as the only concern with his hamstring injury. Need an update.
Will read your thoughts now…
Know what you mean with Mane. Very difficult to have every premium player we want, might have to make a compromise.
Agree on Martial vs. Rashford. I haven’t had a great chance to watch Ndombele, so it’s great to hear your assessment of the player.
Thought Wan-Bissaka was good in the game vs. Wolves. Unlucky to pick up a yellow card, and created a few good chances.
Overall, great points and team. It will be hard to decide what to do with Mane, I can understand your reasoning with DKB, it’s very close between these players.

hi Bruno
did not do badly but not entirety good
i have a feeling that this season defenders wont be the points pool anymore however dont want to wildcard yet i have two free transfers so will try to twitch small things.
Initial team:
Ryan/ mcgovern
Vananvanholt/ zincheko/vandijk/ digne / lundstran/ salah/ siggy / sterling/ martial/dendo
Wilson/greenwood/jota
I am thinking to try to sacrifice either premium defenders like Digne( 70% knock) and Zinchenko to get KDB ( replaces Siggy) since he has been looking so sharp with all the crosses
or
I will just get Pukki replaces Jota get another free transfer save ( given my core team is still quite strong)
If you have any ideas do convey

Hi. Fair point with the defenders and saving the Wildcard.
Wow, this is a tough decision! I like both ideas. I don’t know what to say. I want you to have KDB and Pukki!
I’m completely stuck on this decision, I’m sorry.

It’s great. Maybe the defense is the weakness, but I can understand your thought process after what we’ve seen from defenders this season.
With Kane, it’s harder to fit in De Bruyne. So that could be worth considering for a future draft to compare. This might allow you to upgrade the defense a little. Need an update on Digne. If he’s fit, he could be a must-have.
