Hi Bruno
My Team (FT=2; TV=101.8; ITB=0.2)
Ryan (Button)
TAA, Otamendi*, Soyuncu, Lundstram (Kelly)
Salah*; Sterling (c); KDB; Mount (Dendoncker)
Abraham; Pukki*; King
(Sometimes it feels like having 2 FT’s is more of a curse than a blessing!!)
Option 1- Leave team as is and lose/waste one FT
Option 2 – Otamendi>Rico; Pukki>Vardy; King>Ayew (-4)
Option 3 – Salah>Martial; Pukki>Vardy
The options are in my order of preference, but please give me your honest opinion on each especially with reference to:
* Otamendi’s gametime risk
* Salah’s injury/gametime risk (GW11)
* Is Vardy ‘essential’?
* Are there any other good options that won’t require me to lose/waste a transfer?
Which team would seem more “solid” for the next few gameweeks?
As always, thanks for always taking the time to read and answer these questions!

If Salah is injured do C. Other options are Pukki to Maupay for a week or even Kelly to Rico

Hi again! If forced to choose, I might go for Option 2, dropping Otamendi. I am keeping Pukki, so it’s not easy to suggest selling him.
The priority could be Otamendi for the reason you mentioned.
Salah should be ok, but we never know. Klopp made it sound minor and he has a full week to recover. This week is such a good fixture that the timing isn’t easy to sell.
Vardy has a tricky fixture GW11. His numbers have been skewed by two red cards in the last four games. I’m keeping a close eye on him and could make a move if he continues to score. I’m adding some Leicester cover in the shape of Chilwell.
Possibly Otamendi out for x. But I’m not sure about that player in your case since you already have Soyuncu.
No problem! Thanks for the comment. 👍

I’m in a situation where I do want Vardy but have no good route to get him in:
Pope
TAA, Tomori, Lundstrum
Sterling, KDB, Mount, Maddison, Mane
Wilson, Abraham
4m, Soyunchu, Rico, Connolly
0m itb and 2 FTs
It seems sensible to get rid of Wilson against a decent United defence.
May do Wilson to Maupay as a one week punt. Then can do Maddison to McGinn and Maupay to Vardy week after
What would you advise?
Love the videos btw. So unique too

It makes sense to sell Wilson, his time to score was against Norwich and Watford. I’m giving him another chance against United, but we all have different priorities. Mine was Otamendi this week.
No easy solution for your team. I like your idea with Maupay, but as mentioned on the new video, Brighton attackers have a difficult run after GW11. It could work in the short-term, so this one is up to you! You even have Connolly on the bench and he could step in for Wilson as an option.
Appreciate the compliment. I will be more confident with my tips once the season gets back on track. Right now it feels like performances aren’t translating into FPL points, so it’s more difficult to point others in a set direction. For example, it’s possible Wilson and Bournemouth could raise their level against United. This season has been full of these types of surprises.
I would need more time to think this one through, but as always trust your instinct.
Thanks for the comment. 👍

Hi bruno,
I’ve watched the video and seen you have come to the conclusion that it is best to transfer otamendi out for ben chillwell. Are you aware of the fact that rodri is injured and fernandinho is suspended therefore otamendi is likely to start the game this gw atleast? Having used your very useful cheatsheet I have decided to hold off until gw13 until transferring otamendi out for a Leicester defender given the fact that the up and coming gws also provide difficulty for both sides who play Liverpool and arsenal respectively however Southampton next up for city seems a perfect fixture with a high points ceiling due to the points previously stated ontop of the fact that your handy fixture difficulty cheat sheet shows that the fixture is green for city defenders. If otamendi was to not play against Liverpool, perhaps it may not be such a bad thing due to the fact that city are very unlikely to keep a clean sheet against a very good liverpool side.
Your thoughts on the above points would be much appreciated.

Hi. I thought the same. But Fernandinho served his suspension on Tuesday in the League Cup and is available for GW11. Although we never know with Guardiola!
You’re right about the fixtures. The original idea was to wait until GW13 for a Leicester defender after considering the cheatsheet.
Otamendi sort of rushed me to make a swap for Chilwell now. In my case, my bench is super light and I’d rather tighten up the starting XI at this moment. I’ll work on the bench as soon as I can.
Chilwell has one advantage with potential for attacking returns, which could help if Vardy continues to score. I don’t have Vardy.
All great points, appreciate your thoughts on the players. 👍

Hey Bruno, need some help. I have no idea what to do with my team. Should I just leave it as is?
Otamendi, Van Dijk, Lundstram, Soyuncu, Kelly
Sterling, Mane, De Bruyne, Maddison, CHO
Wilson, Abraham, Greenwood

Otamendi for Mendy maybe (Angelino and Zinchenko out) and attacking threat

Hey. That’s a difficult one. We’re in a similar situation and I’m feeling a bit stuck as well. Not easy to point you in a set direction.
You know what I’ve done, Otamendi out for Chilwell. In your case, you have Soy which makes it trickier.
The priority could be Otamendi, with Wilson right behind. Then VVD and CHO next week if they fail to deliver. CHO not starting and Pulisic’s hat-trick adds another concern.
Rico’s fixtures turn for the worse GW13, but he might work in your side as bench cover in order to bump up Wilson to Vardy, or CHO to x. This might be better after another round of games because the fixtures are another factor. Performances should be key, but recently, fixture difficulty has been a better predictor than form.
Need the players to start scoring to their potential, like Wilson who really let me down in the last two games vs. Norwich and Watford. Wouldn’t be surprised if raised his level against United.

Hi. That’s a nightmare decision. As you mentioned, both have potential for different reasons, and it’s possible both could deliver.
Let’s see if we have an update from Ole closer to deadline, then reassess.

Olá, tudo bem. A minha equipa podia estar melhor, mas vamos ver.
De Bruyne deserved the goal from the free kick, narrow margins again for many strong managers.
Martial and United are raising their level once again, liking the move. 👍
Good luck, abraço.

Bruno,
I am a huge fan of your work.
Could you give us an insight into the thought process behind opting to put in chilwell instead of the central defender soyuncu from leicester?
Upper 90 Studios
31/10/19
Hi. Thanks. 👍 The original plan was to bring in Chilwell GW13 as I’m not expecting clean sheets in their next two games. I rushed it after Otamendi was dropped, and price changes sort of forced my hand.
Chilwell likes to push high on the wing which increases his potential for attacking returns. Soyuncu sits deeper, except for attacking set pieces. Similar to Robertson vs. van Dijk.
He also provides cover if Vardy and Leicester continue to score many goals. I’m hoping for a contribution from Chilwell.
The last note is ownership with strong FPL managers. Soyuncu is owned by 52% of managers in the #Elite64 league, while none owned Chilwell before this week’s transfers. I’m using him as a differential.

Hi bruno,
Just another one from me:
Could you go into the thought process behind opting to transfer in Ben chilwell from leicester instead of soyuncu the central defender? Both of which are solid picks, could you possibly give me an insight into your thinking . Thank you in advance

Hi Bruno
As always an informative video keep up the good work!
Last GW l made for once the correct captain choice in Sterling, ending up with 64pts and a nice green arrow of 100k to now OR 197k.
Below is my current team 1FT/£1.2 ITB/WC
Pope – (Button)
VVD / Otamendi / Lundstram – (Soy / Rico)
Salah / Sterling (c)/ KDB (v) / Yarmolenko / Mount
Jimenez / Abraham – (Greenwood)
l think l said last week that l didn’t totally trust Leicester, but had Vardy & Tielemans on my watch list………..errrrrrrrrrrr didn’t see that one coming!!
After C. Wilson’s second blank in a row l made an early move at the weekend and brought in Jimenez, which still leaves me with 1FT.
At the moment l am considering holding the 1FT my team overall is in good shape.
Otamendi played the full 90 mins against Southampton in the cup so he might play at the weekend, who knows and l have Soy to come in if not. Sterling and KDB were rested so fingers crossed as l have Sterling as captain.
My plan is (always good to have a plan 🙂 ) is to move Yarmolenko on as W. Ham fixtures start to turn and l like Martial as an OOP player and United hopefully are starting to turn a corner and a couple of good fixtures
So for GW12 =2FT – Otamendi > 4.4 possible Gilbert or Chambers / Yarmolenko > Martial.
GW13 – the previous weeks moves then allow me to upgrade VVD>TAA (l am 0.1 short) so might go for Robinson.
l am also considering GW14 and doubling up with Salah & Mane given their fixtures to GW17 for Sterling, but l would need to keep 2 FT for GW18 or use my WC as Liverpool have no game.
All the best for GW11 & good luck!!

Hi Malc,
It was the hardest video to make so far for a few reasons. I felt like it didn’t have good information, so I’m glad you said that.
That’s amazing with the score and OR at this stage, congrats. 👍
Can you imagine as a player, you concede just 10 minutes in. Then there’s a review off the field and your teammate gets sent off as you’re getting ready to restart? Still, that’s twice now that Leicester punished first-half red cards, so they deserve credit.
I was eyeing Jimenez for Wilson as well. It’s so bad, but I almost wanted Jimenez to get a return so I had an excuse to make the move! Now I’m giving Wilson another chance because I made a move on Otamendi instead.
Never know with Pep, I needed a nailed-on starting defender because my bench is light. Sterling and KDB are top picks.
Liking the future transfer plan. All makes sense, now we need players to deliver.
Appreciate the update and good luck!

Great to see the website is up and running again Bruno. I even tried to email you about it few days ago.
Not sure if you remember or not but with 8 players the same and 9 the same the week after as yourself, i did mention no transfers last week but friday night, i too took out Otamendi but not for chilwell lol but for Mendy who was rested grrr but thankfully he didn’t come on as sub so Rico did and woohoo clean sheet and i took a hit by releasing Wilson for Jimenez and i gained 9 points after hit for those 2 transfers as i would of had Otamendi 1 point instead of Ricos points and wilson 1 point and i was 2 points overall behind you Bruno but glad to report, I’m 10 ahead now.
So Son got an assist and was doing well for me until the red card. Damn…he misses 3 great fixtures so i have had to act fast and get in Mane before his price rise and out goes Sterling, yes, Sterling…oh lord 😀 and it was a toss up between Maddison and Martial mainly and since i have Vardy, i opted for Martial.
My team is Pope, Button, Rico, Lundstram, Trent, Mendy, Kelly(Grrr) Jorginho(Grrr), Mount, KDB, Mane, Martial. Vardy, Abraham and Jimenez. I have 2.1m in the bank and leaving my options open. Let’s see how you and i do this week eh? 😉
By the way Bruno, Sterling will probably drop this week as i see managers are taking him out. Just to let you know also, he is 1 yellow card away from a ban. Best of luck 🙂

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. The website was shut down, so I’m working hard to keep it running without any problems.
Nice work with the transfers last week! Son’s red card was rescinded, so you’re in luck.
Great update, and I agree with all your points including your transfers. I have Martial on the Watchlist as well, even though I’ve moved for Maddison (with Vardy and Jimenez).
Appreciate the great comment. 👍
