Love the vid man.
I have a very similar team!!! What you think:
Pickford (Ryan)
TAA, Ake, PVA, Mendy (Kelly *)
Sterling, Salah, Pulisic, Zaha (Dendonker)
Jiminez, King (Long)
* With Wan-Bisaka gone to United, if Palace doesn’t replace him… Kelly is a shout as a starter

Thanks!!! I stayed up all night to finish it because I told someone on the internet that it would be ready Friday morning! Haha.
GKs are perfect. Liking the defenders, smallest worry with Pep’s relationship with Mendy. Need more info from pre-season. Wish TAA was £0.5m cheaper, but I can understand it also after last season.
Mids are ready, I’m doing another video on Pulisic soon. He has all the potential, especially if he can sneak in a few set pieces. The worry is that adjustment period as we’ve seen with exciting players like Jota and Anderson last season. They started slow, then stepped up once settled.
Perfect forwards. Didn’t realize that with Palace… thanks for the tip, and will probably use it if they don’t sign someone.

Hi Bruno
Welcome Back…..whatzup!. How have you been doing?.
Awesome having you back and even more so with all the exciting FPL content you have mentioned.
Great music and video. Fantastic tips.
I have set myself some FPL goals ⚽⚽⚽ and a 14 point framework strategy for the season to help focus.
Heres some of my current thoughts, that I find useful to write down and share:
1) Value in attacking nailed on proven defenders to be prioritised. Midfielders over forwards if close call, as extra cleansheet point and extra goal point
2) Dont waste transfers. A maximum of 40 transfers(excl wildcard/ free hit) to count down set for season. Strategy adopted by last year top FPL player and others. (10 x 4 week cycles= 4 hits + 4 free transfers = 8 transfers x 9 cycles, incl GW1, 2WC, FH)
3) Identify key nailed on high scoring consistent selections and captain options in 4 week cycles. When chasing or bad week, stay patient and focus on a 4 week cycle come back.
4) Team value important but not at expense of hits, unless almost guaranteed to pay back, if related to 3 above or injury.
5) VAR in FPLthis year- Penalty takers in team could be key and a differential. Also goalkeepers with good saving record.
6)Once team takes shape and cyclical template develops, try to stick to high ownership players preferably top managers, to minimise a drop in rank. UP90S Masterclass from last year!
7) Minimise value on bench, but try to find all playing cheap selections if possble.
8) Timing and Planning.Winter break this year for first time in EPL .Plan ahead for this and all chips to maximise. First Wildcard -be flexible and use as soon as team has big issues, impacted by early price rises and issues not solvable in 4 week cycle.
9) Steer away from promoted teams, until key value players start shining.
10) Once value bandwagons show form, prioritise, if fits in with 4 week cycle planning from 3 above.
10) New Manager Bounce- Doesnt always occur, but once a trend develops could continue for a while( eg.last year: Sarri, Soljskaer, Hassenhutl etc).
11) Avoid teams/players with issues or distractions eg. European matches, possible transfer, lack of form, media stories etc.(eg.Man U, Man U, Man U!)
12) Watch as much key matches and FPL key players as much as possible to identify form, talent and chances.
13)When things go wrong, (like they will often🤪) stick to the above plan and dont give up, but strategise, keep chin up(and get advice from UP90s)
14)Most important, enjoy the game, have fun and kick some FPL butt!.
Any additional key strategic tips or are most key aspects covered ?.
Would appreciate your views.

Hi! What’s happening. Thanks I appreciate that! 👍
Liking all of your points, like #4 Team Value important but not at the expense of hits. Agree with this 100%. TV should increase naturally from effective transfer strategy.
Yes, VAR, a light bench to start, new manager bounce, who to avoid… all excellent points.
I enjoyed reading your tips, don’t think you missed anything! One of the keys will be to keep an eye on popular strong FPL managers because their player ownership plays a big part in strategy from last season. Building safeguards with some of their highly-owned players (that we also think have good scoring potential), then finding the right times to go on the attack with unique picks.
Definitely the most important for me is enjoying playing again #14. When I write up a new post or video, I’m sure we’ll share many of the same views.
Thanks for posting the update with top tips! 👍

Hi Bruno
Its actually 15 strategic focus points above…. and counting!
Here is my 2 current draft teams:
Team 1- Penalty Power
Ederson, (Stekelenburg).
Robertson, TAA, Laporte, Digne, (Kelly)
Salah, Sigurdson, Jorginho, (Dedoncker), (Stephens)
Aguero, Deeney, King
ITB-0.0m
a)6 Penalty takers in mids and forwards, with all nailed on players!.
b)Lots of proven points scoring selections.
c)Jorginho a bargain at 5.0m, being penalty taker(I can see Pulisic’s runs being fouled!) and perhaps more attacking than last year with Lampard, possible assists awaiting.
d) Kelly, possibly a starter, as mentioned below by a commenter, if AWB not replaced. Not sure any other 4.0m starters?
d) Captain selections would be Salah, Aguero and Sigurdson (even Robo, if a home match vs bottom team).
e)Main weakness is perhaps bench and no Sterling or Kane ?.
Team 2- Flexible 0.5m Adapter
Pope*, (Stekelenburg).
Robertson, TAA,Zinchenko*, Digne, (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling, Moura, Fraser (Dedoncker)
Deeney, King, (Wickham)
ITB-0.5m
a) Is Pope no 1 at Burnley, given Heaton is in last year of contract and Villa have been interested?. Pope has in the in the past been a save and clean sheet points value magnet and is a solid keeper.
Any other 4.5m consistent solid goalkeepers?
b) Zinchenko was recently given the no 11 shirt number and started the bulk of last seasons final matches (with a great EPL record). Is he not FPL gold if he continues to be nailed on, with Mendy out of favour?
c) Moura- I understand Son is suspended for Spurs 1st match against Villa, so Moura should play?.His speed and price make him a great proposition in FPL.
d). The 0.5m itb can be used to flex/upgrade certain selections as follows:
– Moura to Sigurdson- for fixtures where Moura might nit start or tougher matches
– Zinchenko to Walker, if Zinchenko does not start/is not nailed on
– Digne to LaPorte- If Digne/Everton form/fixtures turn worse
-Pope to Foster/Fabianski- If Burnley keeper rotates or lack of form
d) Captain selections would be between Salah and Sterling rotating as relevant. with Fraser a differential, along with Robo.
e) Main weakness is possible non-nailed on spots in goalkeeper/defender spot and no Kane.
I would really appreciate your views on the above 2 team selections and any interim recommendations you may have.
PS: Are you planning to add back the email reply notification for your blog that you had previously ?. It was really a great option to have. Also cant wait for your next video and how you analyse the top ranked FPL managers for your selections.

Hi. Team 1 is really interesting. Wish Jorginho was a bit more involved in that final pass or shot before a goal, but I can see your point with Pulisic running at defenders with pace. I’m still deciding how I feel about Aguero. It was a bit frustrating when he kept coming off near the hour mark last season. Of course, his ceiling is still hard to match. Overall, an excellent draft.
Team 2. Don’t know about Heaton vs. Pope. I was considering the same thing, but will wait until we have more info from pre-season and press conferences / interviews. Pep will do whatever is best for the team, but if either Zinchenko or Mendy have a bad game or two, he could use both which is a risk in FPL. Moura can be a bit hot or cold, but great point with Son initially.
I think you mentioned the key question. Whether to invest on Kane instead of Sterling/Aguero. Spurs have so many players capable of drawing penalties, but Kane’s potential is not solely dependent on them.
Let’s see what we can learn from pre-season and make changes if needed. 👍
PS: I love that comment email notification feature, but it stopped working a while back. Like it wasn’t compatible with my website. I recently updated the website and server to all the latest versions, so that little check box for email notification is high on my list of priorities. If not that same one, then I’ll see about an alternative. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Bruno! Great video blog with lotsa useful tips thx! pls look into 2d draft RMT
Ryan/Button
TAA, VVD, Coleman, Ake/Kelly
Salah, Sterling, Siggy, Hayden/Den
Kane, King/Wickham
pre-season games will give more info on players” condition but the “core” team starting to line up

Thanks! Oh yeah, I like Coleman, should’ve included him on the video. That’s perfect for all 3 of Salah Sterling and Kane. I would be confident heading into the season right now with your team if betting on 3 premium attackers. 👍 Nice moves.

Hi Bruno, Another great video with a lot of tips. Hope they help as much as last year.
I have finally got my first draft team and would like to hear your thoughts:-
Ryan / Button
Robertson / Dunk / Mendy / TAA / Kelly
Salah / Sterling / Dendoncker / Jorginho / Noble
Kane / King / Deeney
Not sure whether to swap Mendy to Laporte and TAA to VVD?
Upper 90 Studios

Hi. Thanks, appreciate that. 👍
Agree with your question on the backline. Hard to tell the Pep and Mendy relationship and whether he’ll trust him this season. TAA edges out VVD in points potential, so it’s not straightforward.
If forced to choose for the start of the season, I’d lean toward a more conservative strategy which worked for me last season. Laporte VVD.
Can see the idea with penalty takers and VAR. Be careful though as we don’t fully know the impact for FPL. If the officials favor the defenders point of view, it could leave you with doubts over Jorginho and Noble for consistent attacking returns.
Just the decision at the back, then another draft or two with alternatives in those midfield spots.
Strong first draft with ideas for me to think about. 👍

Hi Bruno,
Good to see you kick into gear for another FPL-challenge. Highly estimate the vids and cheat-sheets you already shared. Keep being pleased for the opportunity to reflect on choices and recieve your valued comments in this blog.
As the drafting-period appears to be in full flow, by now, I’d like to drop in a draft or two myself.
And – no wonder – the frame of it follows the lines, that project themselves as inevitable these days. Same names, same alternatives.
But.
Somehow I do have some thoughts . . . let’s see some:
– I don’t share the confidence in Harry Kane, looked very much to grow into a more stumbling than scoring player
– I see Jesus getting more playing time
– Would prefer TAA over VVD/Robertson but see the bigger chance of his rotation as to much of a risk,
– Can’t see why Doherty is ignored in most drafts I percieve. Slightly injuired, but invaluable throughout a season.
– Read an article inwhich was examined and stated that VAR not necessairily leads to more penalties (and they can even be less).
Currently ‘floating’ around the following;
Draft1. “Ballanced”.
Heaton (or Pope, indeed)
Doherty, Ake, VVD, Robbo
Salah, Brooks, BernardoS, Sterling
Jota, Deulofeu
(Ryan, DCL, Dendoncker, Kelly)
Draft2. “Bench-bare”
Ryan,
Doherty, VVD, Robbo, Digne
Salah, Fraser, BernardoS, Sterling
Jota, Deulofeu
(Button, Greenwood, DenD, Kelly)
Latest thoughts: to swap Digne for Coleman, be contented with Brooks for Fraser and thereby enabling BernardoS into . . . KDB 🙂 (?).
In the frontline-two I see Jota as not to be missed. Possibly Deulofeu will have to battle it out with King, but for now it’s him.
Still some weeks to go, latest news will be important, as could be your comments ;)! Could still end up with some different tweaks.
All the best,
Wouter

Hi. Glad you’re liking the content. 👍 I’m really excited for the new season, to use a new strategy from last season.
Think you’re on to something with Jesus. He looked sharp in the Copa America. Aguero has to slow down at some point, right???
Agree with you on TAA. It’s why he doesn’t feature on the majority of my drafts. I’m playing it super safe at the start.
They pushed Doherty’s price this season, we’ll see how Wolves react in their second season.
I can see that with VAR. Many assumptions that it will go in favor of the attackers, but we’ll have to wait and learn.
Both teams are strong, but I’d be more afraid of facing Draft 2 with that midfield. Small question on Doherty and whether he can deliver at his new price. Not much between Coleman and Digne to start. Digne might have the edge if he shares set pieces with Siggy.
We’ll have to keep an eye on KDB. His pre-season fitness and whether he’s fully recovered from the recent knee injuries.
1-2 spots to experiment with, but nothing to worry about.
Welcome back.

Thanks for the comment, enjoyed your new video, brave attack on sneaky influencers and an unsurpassable not-to-do-list!
Will probably stick to Draft2 and it’s midfield. It also has better options to alter into other premium choices, when needed.
Still tempted to ignore one of your not-to-do’s in supporting Deulofeu (injuiry-prone).
At the back it’s only the wingbacks that might change. If a change is due, a Coleman/Laporte-combi has the biggest appeal, at the moment.

Glad you liked the video. Deulofeu seemed to pick up less injuries last season. He had a problem with his hamstrings back when he was at Everton. Seems much safer now.
Great picks already.

Hi Bruno,
What do you think of my first draft?
Pickford (Ryan)
Robertson, Trent, Digne (Kelly, Targett)
Salah, Sterling, Zaha, Tielimans (Dendonker)
King, Calvert-Lewin, Jota
Calvert Lewin is the main gamble for me because Richarlison often plays up front.
There are also just 2 semi-nailed on penalty takers in this team (Salah when Milner is benched, and King who sometimes rotates with Wilson) which is worrying. Digne may start taking them, and Jota has been in the Wolves rotation too.
Thoughts appreciated 🙂

Hi. It’s strong already. Liking your two bench defenders if going with 3 at the back.
The main question is what you said. Whether to bet on DCL up front, or aim for value with an extra defender in a switch to 4 at the back.
For example, one move dropping DCL (who you’re not sure about) for a 4.5m forward, you could squeeze in Man City cover at the back with Zinchenko. Mendy seems injured and may miss out at the start. There are other 5.5m or 5.0m DEF options also like PVA.
Your reasoning make sense. Just that small decision and it’s ready. 👍

Hi Bruno
Great content I’ve got to admit. Always been a huge fan. Very sad about you being a little bit inactive on the content last year but you had a good reason. Keep pumping out the great content. You’ve got a big supporter here. Wishing you well for this year, fpl wise and in general living.
I’ve been tinkering for a while and this is where I’m at. Feedback would be great.
Ryan Button
Robbo Ake Digne Targett* Zinchenco
Salah Sterling Siggy Moura* Den
Wilson Deulofeu* Greenwood*
-Going for a nice balanced, well rounded 15 man squad. People seriously overlooking Greenwood. Cheap striker who is guaranteed a fair share of minutes this season and looks promising. Good pre-season so far.
-Moura big differential but not too sure. His place in the team will be I’m danger after GW3 when Son returns but with decent fixtures Spurs can’t be overlooked. I’m set on not getting Kane for the beginning this year. Just better value elsewhere. So not too sure who to spend that 7.5 from Moura on.
-Targett a decent pick. 4.5 defender with good attacking stats with Villa having decent fixtures. Not too sure who else to spend the cash on
-Deulofeu only player I’m worried about. Not sure what to do with 6.5 mill and don’t want King for BOU triple up.
Thank you

Hi. Thanks I appreciate the nice words. 👍
I hated not posting content. It’s the worst guilt feeling. But I also needed to enjoy playing the game again. My OR was slowly declining in recent seasons and I was getting a bit frustrated. I’d hate for my posts to have a complaining feeling because that’s not my style 🙂
Last season I took time to study the game and pay close attention to my team. I feel more confident as a player now than in any of the 12 seasons I’ve played.
Liking your bench *. They’re both strategically set for the start of the season when funds are limited, and might even punch above their weight for the reasons you mentioned.
The core of the team is perfect. Then it’s those final possible tweaks that I agree on – Moura and Deulofeu.
Moura can sometimes drift in and out of games. He can score 10pts, then blank the next 3 games. There could be an opportunity while Son is out, plus fixtures, so it’s worth more thought. I’m also leaning toward Sterling over Kane at the moment.
Know exactly what you mean with the second forward spot, which is why some of my recent drafts have only one forward: Wilson. King is also in the mix depending on ownership stats of the strong FPL managers.
For example, 3 changes allow a shift from the current 4-4-2:
Ryan
Robbo, Ake, Digne, Zinchenko
Salah, Sterling, Siggy, Moura
Wilson, Deulofeu
To a 4-5-1 with £0.5m ITB:
Ryan
Robbo, Ake, Digne, Zinchenko
Salah, Sterling, Siggy, Zaha, Tielemans
Wilson
If avoiding triple Bournemouth, which is reasonable, it becomes Moura+Deulofeu vs. Zaha+Tielemans (+£0.5m ITB). There might be other moves, possibly involving Ake at the back.

Just a quick one from me. If you had to pick one of the below players, which would you opt to bring into your fpl starting xi:
Fraser or sigurdsson
Thank you for your help

Hi. Sigurdsson. If Fraser makes my team, it would be in addition to Siggy.
