l hope you are well and l enjoyed the POD.
It was a good GW2 for me 84pts with 6 returning either goals or assists plus Raya’s clean sheet pushing me up to 58k, although rank is so volatile atm – plus red cards, missed pens and own goals, so quite a week!
Well my punt on Rashford just didn’t happen, as a United fan it was yet another painful watch with players looking at sixes and sevens not knowing what to do, with no holding mids they cut right through us, l just want the Glazier’s out shambolic!!
So Rashford had to go and Dasilva in before his price dropped which was a bit knee-jerk, so l have £2.0m ITB, TV £100.9 and 1FT, here’s my team;
Raya – Ward
TAA / James / Cancelo / Trippier / N. Williams
Salah / Dias / Martinelli / Andreas / Desilva
Jesus / Haaland / Archer
l was thinking of bringing in Zinchenko/ Gabriel / Dias/ Cucu for Trippier, but l may just ride this week out and bench him this week and GW5, he’s putting in so many crosses, on free kicks and corners, so l would be bringing him back anyway.
However, this does mean playing Nico Williams and Andreas, l don’t have a problem with the former as he looked really good against W Ham, loads of crosses, corners, 2 attempts on goal. It’s Andreas who might only get me 2 pts.
Apart from Martinelli there’s no one l really fancy at that price point;
*Rodrigo has started well, helped by Bamford going off and they play Chelsea
*Gross is a very streaky player and l think a bit of a trap like Bailey was and play W Ham
*The one’s that interest me are Aaronson & Damsgaard, but they are a wait and see.
l might still sell Trippier and play 5 at the back Cucurella looks favourite or Gabriel, just not sure or bank the FT??
Also, l have just noticed GW5 is mid-week, so we could see a bit of rotation as GW’s4/5/6 are played over about 8 days!

Hi. Thanks! Very painful to watch United, it’s hard to believe.
Trippier is delivering consistently, difficult to replace him on current form. Not quite sold on Arsenal’s defense just yet, even though Zinchenko is a great addition for Arsenal. It’s so close between Trippier and all the options you mentioned. Might be worth taking in another round of games to give us a more clear direction.
I’ve been using Andreas as a starter and expect returns from this position. I made a change by drafting Neco into the starting XI and bumping Bailey to Gundogan.
Agree with all the mids you listed. The only one that makes my Watchlist is Rodrigo, but even he is a backup plan in case Gundogan doesn’t work and I decide to stick with the same formation.
There will be plenty of rotation, and five subs. It’ll be interesting to see how the managers work out playing time. I’m curious about players like Gundogan who can start, win the game by 60 minutes then come off for recovery. That’s wishful thinking because we know Pep!

Totally agreed on the influencers driving the narrative on certain players although I have to say I take this to an extreme and I’ve made an effort to get rid of FPL content out of my twitter feed and stop listening. It’s a pet peeve of mine that influencers will give a hard yes or no on a player based on 1 or 2 facts. Perfect example this weekend was “Don’t captain Salah, he never scores in GW2”, although the logic worked this time it was definitely superstation based rather than relevant fact. I find I’m more successful trusting my gut rather than getting doubted out of a good decision because “X player completed the most crosses in the last 5 weeks and takes penalties”
Happy to report I scored 87pts and banked a transfer in GW2 with KDB as my “gamble” captain. For GW3 I used my 2 FTs to get Maddison and Dasilva for Rashford and Bruno G. I’ve had price drops for Dalot and Perisic but I’m still positive they can get me a return instead of taking a -4pts hit. Now my only question is who to captain out of Salah, Jesus and KDB.
I also found out a non-football friend of mine got roped into his works FPL league an hour before GW1 deadline, it was a classic 1 guy who’s really good at FPL manages to convince 10 chumps to bet £10 on FPL, so naturally I’m teaching him how the game works and he’s surprisingly getting invested although for now I’m doing his transfers because he doesn’t know any names. For someone that picked a team because of funny names he did well to score 55pts GW1! So for GW2 I told him to take a -4pts to get Mitrovic and captain Darwin, -5pts and the transfer hit scored 23pts, nightmare. So much like your logic of making hits early to benefit down the line, for GW3 we’re playing the Wildcard. Too many Man Utd and none of the popular premium players needs to be changed. He’s taking a massive liking to Gundogan as well so he’s staying in the WC team. It was pretty cool to see that you’ve also decided to transfer him in!
The first draft WC team as follows:
Raya/Sanchez (50/50)
Henry, Robbo, James, Cancelo.
Gundogan, Martinelli, Dewsbury-Hall, Salah.
Kane, Jesus.

Ward, Mitrovic, Dasilva, Saliba.
Made this team on Monday so we’ve seen the benefits of the price changes but any input would be appreciated =)

Hello! Know what you mean. I stay off Twitter completely during live games, and even when the games aren’t on. Maybe I’m away from it too much and end up missing some information, but it might be worth it for the mental side of the game.
I love it, 87pts and KDB captain is brilliant! 🔥 Liking the transfers as well, pretty straightforward.
Now you know the feeling of guilt that is familiar when I get things wrong haha. I can take it for my team, but when it affects others, it’s not great. 🙂
Team is excellent. If I understand correctly, Mitrovic is on the bench of this WC team? If so, the only minor note could be to consider starting an extra defender and compare it against DBH/Mitro. Everything else is set, maybe consider leaving a few £ for Haaland option if needed down the line.
