Fantasy Strategy.
Short-term approach to navigate the fixture changes:
“Take it game by game making adjustments as needed”
The idea is to avoid planning too far in advance because things are changing quickly. Once I reach the Blank and Double Gameweeks, then I’ll make more aggressive moves to target them. But it will be closer to the respective deadlines.
GW17 Review.
GW17 points: 70PTS (AVG: 56). Upper 90 Studios climbed to 150k in the Overall Rank!
The Results.
James Justin (1PT). Transferred in last week with an eye on DGW19. Justin was minutes away from the clean sheet when he was booked for a clumsy foul. Leicester conceded from the resulting free kick, one point! To rub salt in the wounds, Justin scored and assisted in the Cup game midweek. ❌
Captain Success.
Harry Kane (24PTS, captain). Goal for his new baby plus an assist and maximum bonus. 👍
Stuart Dallas (1PT). Unsung hero of GW17, allowing Son all the space in behind to score from Kane’s cross. He can’t do wrong in my eyes. 😍

Hi. Liking Reguilon for the attacking potential, although there is the smallest risk of rotation. I would imagine he’s safe to start. Dier seems even safer as far as rotation.
Gundogan is a great gamble. Surprisingly attacking in recent games.

Hope you had a wonderful holidays and new year! I was leaning towards not using my free hit because i had 9 players + Brewster but Villa game getting postponed is making me think otherwise. Below is my team and my transfer thoughts without using free hit. Let me know what you think? I am open to using free hit also if you think that’s a better decision

Currently i have 8 players including Brewster.
1) Dallas —> Cancelo
2) Dallas & Salah —> Cancelo & Son for -4. This gets me to 10 players for the gw. I will bring back Salah immediately for gw19.

Villa’s postponement and now talks of Leeds possibly not having a Double Gameweek 19. That’s this season.
Your defense is solid already without the FH.
I might say it’s between Option 2, going for it with Son and Cancelo to maximize points, or the FH.
9-10 players is reasonable to save the FH if you have a solid defense and key attackers such as KDB, Bruno, Son and Kane.
Your call on the final decision, but it should be ok either way. Points totals may be similar with either plan.

Hey Bruno! Long time no speak, hope you’ve had a great Christmas & New Year =)
I’ve also activated my Free Hit for GW18, had a team settled for the last week and the fixture reschedules and Sterling becoming doubtful has caused my draft to change 4 times hehe.
My final draft:
Lloris
Cancelo, Dias, Fernandez
Bruno(C), Rashford, Son(VC), KDB, Saka
Wilson, Kane
Bench: cheapest possible
Think I would definitely have Sterling over Rashford but I would have to cheapen the rest of the team, plus it would mean I couldn’t do triple Spurs which I’m now doing because they’re playing Fulham instead of Aston Villa.

Can see your idea, planning to find the right balance. I had some drafts with Martial and Darlow, no backup GK, but I became concerned with Dubravka being available. So I swapped Martial for Lacazette to free up funds for a backup GK.

Hey. This a tough one because your current players are well set for DGW19.

It seems you have 7 players currently available for BGW18, although 2 don’t have the best matchups. If you can push it to 8-9 this week that should be reasonable without a chip.
I believe Taylor and DCL are injured. One idea could be Salah + DCL out for Fernandes + x. I don’t know the exact funds available for the forward, ideally Kane but you can consider Martial or Lacazette. Martial has a DGW19, Kane and Laca do not, but keep in mind there are unknowns with injury and rotation. We have to take calculated risks with this strange season, but they are risks.
The key part of this plan is Salah. You may need to bring him right back DGW19, but I don’t know the best way. It needs some planning which could take time, and fixtures are being rescheduled all the time. I’m open to using my Wildcard DGW19, but haven’t decided so it’s hard to point others in a set direction at this moment. I’m adjusting my plan game by game, not even Gameweek by Gameweek.

firstly i just want to say i think your GW18 picks are excellent. i predict a big score for you.
For myself – im hitting my FH this week and BB next week.
my question today is regarding your thoughts on a few players…
im torn as to weather or not to have Rashford or Martial in my team (or both or neither)
and secondly – Arsenal assets: im struggling to trust them completely so what are your thoughts on Saka and/or Tierney?
My current FH team is as follows: 4-4-2
*Darlow
*Cancelo; *Dias; *Tierney; (*Maguire/Dier) – Leaning towards Dier now
*KDB; *Fernandes; *Son; *Neto
*Kane; *Lacazette
Bench: Ramsdale (as i expect SHU to put up a fight and think he may get some save points)

I was leaning toward Martial over Rashford, then decided on neither. The key reason for my team was the budget. With Martial instead of Lacazette, I wasn’t able to squeeze in a backup GK for Darlow which has some risk now that Dubravka is back. I also began noticing the increasing popularity of Arsenal assets, I opted for some cover.
It’s hard to trust Martial, Rashford or Arsenal assets really. But it’s easier to take a chance on a Free Hit because there’s no long-term commitment. I just need one good game! 🙂
^^^ Those are mid-high priced premium players. With Saka and others like Smith Rowe, it’s even harder to trust them as starters. It doesn’t mean they can’t work as a gamble.
Tierney is a strong pick on current form. I can never predict which Palace side will turn up or Zaha’s mood. They can push in the attack or sit back and absorb pressure all game.
Your FH team is strong and well balanced as is. It’s not easy to improve it and we may see similar points totals with different players.

Hi. It feels like Sterling has been resting in every competition except the league this season. Whether that’s due to an issue, I don’t know.
He is a top differential this week and I might say he has a good chance of starting, but it’s impossible to know for sure.

Ola. I’m open to taking hits to save the Wildcard this week, but I’m tempted myself.
Your starting goalkeeper and defenders are pretty much set. Unlucky with Leeds having the extra game called off, I’m on the same boat… starting Dallas+Bamford here.
Neto took a hard knock to his knee last game and never really recovered. He played through it, don’t know how he’s feeling now.
Coufal and Soucek are value picks with favorable fixtures in the DGW.
Maybe your team could use another big hitter with a DGW like De Bruyne? The question is whether to cut premium players to fit in KDB, or smaller cuts to upgrade multiple positions.
To start any draft (WC or transfer hits), you might consider Soucek in for Neto, Coufal in for Lamptey/Kilman. DCL has a blank, so an option could drop him to bump Bissouma up to x, possibly Foden or Gundogan if you can’t find another way to move for KDB? Hard to do it from here without playing with the funds. 🙂
I can tell you I’m taking lots of hits this round and saving my Wildcard. I’ve moved for KDB and sacrificed Robertson to get there. Not easy to make that suggestion for others, cutting a premium defender with a DGW, because this season has been a nightmare to predict. Anything can happen.
I’ll share the full team when I figure it all out, but it will most likely have Salah, Son, Fernandes, KDB and Soucek in the midfield.
