How I turned FPL SATURDAY from the worst to the BEST DAY GW5

What an absolutely brutal GW that was!!! I only scored 49pts with my only returns coming from TAA, Sanchez, Perisic. By the end of Saturday I went from my highest rank ever 26k to 680k, thankfully I’ve recovered a bit on Sunday to 530k. So yeah having Salah captain and not owning Haaland really screwed me. I don’t think I’ve felt so angry at FPL in my life and I was so close to selling Salah on the spot in rage lol. The team I support won 5-0 on Saturday too but I couldn’t enjoy it. I decided to ignore football for the rest of the day and return to it at 11pm to watch MOTD highlights show. Watched KSI’s boxing event with a takeaway pizza and I was a lot calmer after that, I’ll have to remember that trick for any other terrible FPL weekends ahaha. Also I seen a tweet where somebody looked at the bookies odds and did that maths. The chances of Salah not scoring or assisting in a 9-0 win was 1 in 2.4million, just shows how insanely unlucky this GW was.

Anyways ramble over. I’ve decided to make my first big gamble of the season for GW5 and GW6. I’ve decided I can’t carry on without Haaland but the issue is who do I drop out of Jesus, Toney, Johnson.
Johnson to Haaland would require too much cash that I can’t get, so he stays
Out of Toney and Jesus I believe Toney has better fixtures and has the potential to be a more consistent points scorer. Plus Toney being 1mil cheaper limits my options for a Maddison replacement.
So I’m going to go against the 81% ownership of Jesus. I might be going daft but I’m committed to it now. I’m going to make 3 transfers potentially 4 in GW5 & 6. There is many combinations of what order to do my transfers but I’ve settled on the following and already made my GW5 transfer.

GW5: Maddison OUT – Odegaard IN. Maddison still has doubts and Barnes returning could limit the points he can get from now on imo. Odegaard is the Arsenal player I’m using to cover against Jesus, his likelihood of minutes is a big appeal and I’m hoping the recent performances isn’t just a purple patch. Also having double Arsenal attack against Aston Villa is very appealing although your comments about Zinchenko does concern me.

GW6: Jesus & KDB OUT – Haaland & Sterling IN. I reckon having KDB and Haaland is overkill so I can free up some budget. Sterling has been on my watchlist all season and this will be a good opportunity to get my first Chelsea player in the team. This will also leave me with £0.4mil ITB which is nice

Additionally I could consider a -4pts in GW5 or -8pts in GW6 to improve my defence but this may not be necessary. I was second guessing having Walker because Man City conceded 5 in 2 games but in reality both Palace goals came at corners which typically 1 corner goal has a 3% chance of happening in any club game and also they only conceded 2 shots against Palace. You would need an additional reason to drop a City defender imo, like in your team you need to reallocate your budget. Trippier is another option to leave but the upcoming fixtures after Liverpool are kind to him.
