l hope all is well at your end!

Well a descent last GW scoring 72pts and my 2nd green arrow up 800k and standing 1.9m, so a long haul to go and around 80ish pts which is my overall target of 50k.

GW8 –
Went alright with the defence all scoring well (except Robo) with Salah, Grealish, Zaha and capt Kane all chipping in.
But with Salah red flagged and looking to miss 2 GW’s, Liverpool’s defensive issues and owning both Kane and Son who’s fixtures turn l need to shake things up so l trigged the WC.

My dilemma was between McCarthy, Mendy and Martinez. In the end the Villa defence which seems to keep clean sheets but concede shots for save points was my pick. Plus I think he’s template so I’ve gone for Martinez.

DEFS
The 2 first on the team sheet are Cancelo and Chilwell. I think these could be the best 2 defences in the league over the medium term and both figure highly in attacking defenders rankings. Certainly Dias could be the safer option but International Break apart I can’t see him with any history of attacking ability so I’ll take the Cancelo Mendy risk for the moment.

Masuaku is the wing back for West Ham with great attacking stats. He’s definitely a gametime risk and could lose his place if West Ham go to a back 4 but he has more attacking potential than Coufal.

I’ve also gone for Van Aanholt for a 3 game punt against Burnley, Newcastle and WBA. Hoping for a big return among those 3 games.

Lastly l have a 3.9 bench warmer in Mengi to help finances.

MIDS
I’ve gone for Fernandes as the poll captain favourite. I have exactly the right amount to flip him to Salah in the bank, by moving C-L to Bamford.

Grealish’s form speaks for itself.

I had hard time deciding between Ziyech and Zaha. Zaha will have a couple of games with pens and is playing as a forward plus has great fixtures. On the negative Palace are a fairly defensive side. Ziyech is in a much better attacking side but is more assist based and is unproven. It wasn’t an easy one.

De Bruyne will be my 2nd captain option after Salah

Soucek is a great 5th midfielder for only £0.4m over the £4.5m CDMs

FOR
Vardy considering the tough fixture on paper, although Leicester City have excelled on the counter against teams like Manchester City, l can see goals in this game.

Calvert Lewin for the Fulham game and his form. I wasn’t really that comfortable with double Villa and considered Wilson but Newcastle are such a defensive side and he is an injury doubt as well. I also considered Maupay but in the end went for the double Villa with Watkins pens being a big attraction.

Sorry it’s a long one but l just wanted to put my thoughts down and reasoning behind the team, although there were a few players who came close and l wanted to have a core template squad with a few differentials to hopefully help pull me up the rankings!!

Hope everything is going as well as possible for you and your FPL Team.

I wanted to consult with you before the transfer decisions this GW.

I have 1 FT , 1.4 ITB and the Wildcard. Am currently top of one mini-league and third (45 Points off) the other.

Team is as follows:
GK: Martinez (Miazek)
DEF: Chilwell / James / Coufal (Justin / Douglas)
MID: Son / Grealish / Zaha / SALAH (Bissouma)
FWD: Kane / Jimenez / Wilson

As evident with Jimenez and Wilson, I have striker trouble. This is why I have decided to go Wilson (no Frazer, defensive Newcastle side, dependant on penalties, Bamford in same price range) to Richarlison (3 Easy fixtures, goal for Brasil, rested after suspension, good differential to DCL). Next week, I would look to either change Jimenez, move one from Son and Kane out, or bank a transfer.

However, now I am stuck on the Salah decision. Imo, there are only 2 prudent ways to transfer him out (points ceiling / ownership reasons) and a keeper might be the way to go.

1) For KDB:

Known Quantity, albeit pricey compared to Bruno. Hard fixture against Spurs, followed by two easy ones against Burnley and Fulham at home. Plus (and just like you told us), with City having Jesus back, he immediately started producing attacking returns. If bought, have 0.7 ITB and gotta stick with him in the near future, which limits my flexibility.

2) For Fernandes

Known Quantity with amazing set-piece potential. Also a hard fixture imo this week against WBA (United have won 1 in 5 at home against this opponent without scoring much, they play better away and WBA had a great and spirited defensive performance against Spurs). Also like his next 2 fixtures away at West Ham and a questionable Soton side. If bought, I have 1.6 ITB and also must stick with him in the near future. He also has higher ownership than KDB (33.1% to 17.5%) , so perhaps the better insurance option.

Both Options would mean that I remain without Salah for the foreseeable future (next 3 GW).

3) Keep Salah

Salah is the must-have player this year in FPL, with both consistency, high returns, and penalty taking. Moving over from him (even for KDB or Bruno) is a tough, tough choice, especially if he returns next week. Next two games away at Brighton and home to Wolves look bleaker than Bruno or KDB though. Besides, it would mean starting Justin insead of a premium MID this week, which bodes bad for me. Furthermore, I am not insured against the field at all – if KDB, Fernandes, DCL and Zyech explode, I am sure to plummet down the standings.

As I am writing this, now think that i should sell Salah and possibly transfer him back with a Wildcard if things go south.

For captaincy, consider Grealish, KDB/Bruno or even a high-risk Richarlison bet.

I hope the post is reasonably long, as I wanted to also explain my thought process a bit.

Hi Bruno hope you are well. Been doing well lately with third consecutive green arrows and 2.1 million places up since gw6, right transfers + finally right Cap choices thou i changed DCL to Buno 1 min before window closed !:) early thoughts on few moves :

knowing Citeh’s fixtures are a sea of green still not in a rush to jump on their attacking assets yet, wait and see for me, whereas Mo and CO have been been quite consistant in their play, plus the fixtures are also greenish.
