Hi Bruno
Awesome video tips, buddy. Love the song too.
Excitement starting to build up, less than 3 weeks left to GW 1!……
My team selection is taking shape, with most spots nailed down and a few only left to ponder about.
Here’s my latest draft:
Team
Pope, (Stekelenberg)
Robertson, Van Dijk, Laporte, Coleman, (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling, Fraser, Sigurdson, (Dedonker)
King, Delefeou, (Greenwood)
Main Considerations:
1)Pope only if nailed on and Heaton possibly moves to A Villa, saga that is dragging on. Otherwise Ryan (and Button backup) best option?.
2) Coleman surprisingly has only 4% ownership- any reason why so low owned, besides 0.5m higher priced Digne being backed by 28%?. Nailed on attacking defender(and not sure if captain?), that scored in recent pre-season match of attacking team that has some good early fixtures. My only thought is, is Crystal Palace the team that you expect Everton to get a cleansheet against?. Any other good 5.5m options to consider (AWB, Zinchencho, Kolisinac or could make a twin change- Laporte/Coleman to Walker/Digne)?
3) Could swap Sigurdson for Lucas Moura,(plays A Villa) for first game only and with 0.5m in bank can bring in Sigurdson as 1st free transfer)?
4) Is Delefeou/Dendonker best combo or would Perez/Wickham be a better option?.
Not much 6.5m mid options to swap Perez for if he doesn’t deliver?. Possbly more 6.5m forward options. If Delefeou starts GW1, there are a few other 6.5m forward options to consider for subsequent transfers afterwards, such as Puki, (who plays 2 home games against Newcastle and Arsenal after Liverpool), or Barnes/Wood/Jota who could later fill that slot. Also would you rate Delefeou over Deeney?
5) Kane- not sure he is best to start season, as including him reduces balance of team ?
6) Greenwood- surely he will get game time- best 4.5m forward currently?. Great goal today against Inter!
Please let me know your thoughts and valued insights on my draft team and above points.
PS: Enjoy the Liverpool game- looking forward to your observations after the game.

Hi. Thanks! Yeah, you gave me the inspiration to put together the To Don’t list, and I gave you a thanks on the video. 👊
Before reading your thoughts, I’m struggling to improve your current team.
1. Yes, that was one small doubt I had. Who would start in goal. For my cheap GK drafts, I’m leaning toward Ryan/Button as the starting GK with a £4.0m straightforward backup for Ryan.
2. Love Coleman, he could make my final team at the expense of Digne. It really feels like making these small “cuts” to free up funds, then they almost end up being upgrades. Zinchenko is squarely on my radar now after the Mendy injury news. PVA is also making many of my drafts. You can almost see his desire to score sometimes. Not great if you’re his manager seeing him push in the attack 🙂
3. I trust Siggy over Moura for FPL. Siggy is always involved in the attacks, Moura can drift out of games for long spells.
4. Leaning toward Deulofeu/Dendoncker. Even though he’s improved with discipline, Deeney might be a bit too reckless when going safe at the start.
5. Latest drafts have Sterling over Kane also. He has that first great game though, so it’s not easy.
6. Great potential, but I can see easy excuses for Ole to leave him out of the starting XI this season.
You have a great draft that won’t be topped easily. Can’t wait for the Liverpool game!

Hi. Alisson in goal has me thinking. You can make a strong case for him – benefits of double Liverpool defensive cover at a cheaper price, plus highest ownership %.
AWB on defense is harder to assess because it depends on which Man United defense will turn up this season. They have the potential to lock things down again with De Gea, AWB and an improvement at CB. The positive is his tackling which will earn bonus points when they keep a clean sheet. Some alternatives are Zinchenko for a way into Man City defensive cover now that Mendy out injured, and possibly van Aanholt.
Solid core in the attack with Salah, Sterling, King and Deulofeu who was coming into his own at the end of last season. He has to continue where he left off. Brooks and Perez are good value picks. I made a small note on the video about Brooks picking up small knocks last season and missing some games, but he’s quality if he can shake those off.
Martial is a fantastic player, but also hard to assess. I guess I’m not the most confident rating United players because of last season! I’m taking a few games to watch them in the beginning, but it could work if they hit the ground running.
Here’s an optional idea. With Alisson in goal, you might not need a £4.5m backup, so pop in a £4.0m GK like Button. Then you could decide Martial vs. Sigurdsson. If Siggy ends up a popular choice for strong FPL managers, it could be a rank-killer and risky not to pick him.
Two changes would give you this:
Alisson
TAA, AWB, Digne
Salah, Sterling, Siggy, Perez, Brooks
King, Deulofeu
You have original ideas. I would keep your current team as an instinct draft to compare future ones to. If you draw up a few more conservative drafts, a strategy that works in the beginning, then you can match them up to this original. 👍

Hi. Interesting with double Everton at the back, but it takes advantage of their fixtures and both are top defender picks. If Zinchenko starts the Community Shield, and Mendy is confirmed out injured at the start of the season, it’s a way of freeing up an extra £0.5m.
Mids are perfect. Forwards have a similar risk as the defense, doubling up. Some of my drafts have Fraser + Wilson, so I can also understand this risk.
All of the players in your player pool are strong. It’s whether to bet on double Everton defenders and double Bournemouth attackers. The more I think about it, the more I’m ok with your team ideas. Super unique, which can be good. Just keep in mind the strategy of building a safety net with highly-owned players chosen by strong FPL managers in the FPL Community. Straying too far away from this template didn’t work for me last season.

Hi Bruno
I hope you are well and enjoyed the Liverpool game and the atmosphere.
Tinkering around with a few alternative drafts to maximise FPL points potential. The 3 areas I find myself looking at from my existing draft:
1) Can Kane be fitted into team, with Sterling and Salah. Especially given Spurs 1st game against Aston Villa. How was that 93rd min half way line wonder goal yesterday against Juventus…..made me rethink this option
2) Does having Wilson over King (if you have Fraser) maximise Bournemouth attack- especially the 2 easier opening fixtures against promoted teams
3) Are there good value players- defenders/mids that can allow above players.
Team 1(existing- No Kane, No Wilson): 4-4-2
Ryan; Button
Robertson, TAA; Digne, Zinchenko; (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling;Fraser, Sigurdson; (Dedoncker)
King, Delefeou; (Greenwood)
Team 2(Kane, No Wilson): 4-4-2
Ryan; Button
Van Dijk, Aurier*, Coleman, Zinchenko; (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling;Fraser, Perez ; (Dedoncker)
King, Kane; (Greenwood)
*- Is Aurier nailed on, with Tripper leaving Spurs and Foyth suspended first few games? Any other better 5.0m defenders?.
Chistiansen(Chelsea) an option with Rudiger possibly injured for start of season- is he likely to start ahead of Zouma?
Team 3(Wilson, No Kane):4-4-2
Alisson; Stekelenburg
Robertson, Dunk; Coleman, Zinchenko; (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling;Fraser, Sigurdson; (Dedoncker)
Wilson, Delefeou; (Greenwood)
Team 4(Wilson & Kane):
Alisson; (Stekelenburg)
Aurier, Dunk;Taylor, Zinchenko; (Kelly)
Salah, Sterling;Fraser, Perez; (Dedoncker)
Wilson,Kane; (Greenwood)
Which of the above 4 teams do you think has the best potential to start the season?.
(lets assume wildcard by GW4).
Potential Value players/Enablers?
– King at 6.5m(not as lethal as Wilson, but 1.5m cheaper , on penalties and decent starting striker)
– Zinchenko at 5.5m(might start with Mendy possibly out start of season)
-Alisson- cheapest Liverpool nailed on defensive cover at 6.0m
-Aurier at 5.0m(Might start with Tripper leaving)
-Chistensen at 5.0m (Might start with Rudiger injured)
-Dunk at 4.5m (Might move to Leicester, if Maguire moves, but otherwise always poaches a few goals every season)
-Coleman at 5.5m-(attacking defender, 0.5m cheaper than Digne, and good fixtures)
-Perez at 6.5m ( possible second striker to Vardy and great finisher)
– Rico/Gibson- Possible other 4.0 starters?- Rico could get games; Gibson could move to Newcastle or start if Tarkowski moves
– Any others ?
I would appreciate your views on the above 4 team options and in which order you would rate them.
Also, your views on potential value players/enablers and is 4-4-2 the best balanced team formation to start the season ?. Could 5 at the back improve any of the above teams. ?
PS: Did you use any specific tools, apps, websites etc to analyse the top managers players last year ?

Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply. I’ve been busy with the Liverpool game, which was amazing. Can’t wait to share all my info. 👍
1. Kane is a monster. Definitely worth having a few drafts, but with Salah and Sterling, it will likely require one weak starter. Not the worst, just need to compare strategies.
2. I’m on the Wilson camp. He does all the right things to get chances for FPL points. King goes quiet for long spells or entire games. But penalties and ownership with strong FPL managers are important factors and I will change my mind if needed.
3. Dendoncker is close, but I’m afraid of their involvement in Europa League.
Team 1 is excellent if going without Wilson. It does require Deulofeu to deliver to his potential, and I haven’t trusted him as much in past seasons. But he is worth consideration with ownership stats.
Team 2 is one of the better Kane drafts I’ve seen. Don’t know if Aurier is nailed-on. Not many fullbacks are fully nailed with Pochettino. It’s almost like part of his philosophy to rotate fullbacks because of their hard work. The big question is going with just van Dijk for Liverpool defensive cover if strong FPL managers move for Robbo+TAA. It also requires a small cut here and there, and all these compromises can add up. But I like this Kane draft as a baseline to build from.
Team 3 is close to my more recent drafts, but with a cheaper GK, 2x LFC DEF and just Wilson up top, possibly King if needed. The defense with Dunk, Coleman and Zinchenko starts to fall a little behind others with TAA, Digne and the questions over the LB spot at City. Although Zinchenko could be safe and has been featuring on many of my drafts since Mendy’s injury.
Team 4 I might rate this one the lowest because premium defenders off the best value at the start of the season, and they will have high ownership with strong FPL managers. If they go with 4-5 premium defenders who crush the BPS early on, we could risk falling behind direct competitors.
If forced, I would choose Team 1 at this moment. Monster defense, hard to find a weakness. My second favorite is Team 3. Team 2 with Kane is also worth more thought, I like comparing how you built your Kane draft vs. how I built mine. I have Dendoncker as the enabler in the final starting spot. I also couldn’t squeeze Siggy in the Salah+Sterling+Kane drafts.
Your value players/enablers are perfect! We’re exactly on the same page. I might add Reid as a £4.0m DEF. He made it into my FPL team a few years ago because of his value per points. I really like him as a player, then injuries hurt his career. We’ll see if he stays or leaves West Ham.
I’m currently toying with the idea of one forward, Wilson, then whether to go with 5 defenders or 5 mids. Both my DEF and MID spots have strong picks.
PS: Yes, livefpl.net was the best for ownership stats. But manually writing team IDs is a fail-safe option.

Hi Bruno
Thanks for your response and pointers.
You made me think about team formation and how to build an almost complete premium starting lineup.
Heres what I have come up:
Ryan, (Button)
Robertson, TAA, Zinchenco, Digne, Coleman
Salah, Sterling, Sigurdson,(Dedoncker), (Hayden)
Wilson, King
The alternative option to above is play 1 striker and:
1) to swap TAA & Digne for Van Dijk & Aldewereild(or other 5.5m defender)
2)and then able to replace King & Hayden with Fraser/Wickham
I notice that King and Fraser’s ownership stats are quite close.
5 Defenders to start, I dont think I have ever intentionally done that before, except when forced to auto sub, but it could make sense.
Is the 1 downside though, if premium strikers find early form, it might take multiple moves to bring them in, if you dont wildcard?
What are your thoughts on the above 2 5 defender team options, original and alternatives?
PS:I had a squiz at livefpl.net it looks awesome. Thanks for the tip.👍Are there stats for the last completed gameweek only or do they have live stats for a gameweek in progress?

Hi. Sorry for the late reply, I was in NY covering Liverpool vs. Sporting. It was another amazing experience, stories on the next video.
I like this idea. The big decision is whether to go double Everton+Liverpool at the back plus double Bournemouth up front. But I can understand it when we consider fixtures and player value/points potential.
1) This is how my latest drafts look. The £5.5m is PVA.
2) Yes, I also have Zaha in the mix.
No issue with 5 at the back. There’s excellent value there at the start of the season, more players we already trust to deliver points.
Good point with the premium strikers, which is why I can’t just share one draft, I have a few with alternate formations. Like Sterling vs. KDB is huge because the latter allows a move for Kane.
PS: I don’t know if their stats will only kick in after GW1 begins. But after that, we’ll have 90% of the info we need to make transfer with more confidence.

Hi Bruno
Thanks for the tips. Could you take a look at my team and make and suggestions:

Salah, de Bruyne, Fraser, Tielemans (Dendoncker)
Kane, King (Greenwood)
Thanks!

Hi. No problem! Strong GK+DEF, combo of premium and best-value picks. Mids are perfect. Forwards are nailed. 👍
KDB is a smart way to get 3 premium attackers, Liverpool, Man City and Spurs. Tielemans vs. Perez is close for Leicester attack cover.
Prefer Wilson over King, but I might change my mind if King becomes a popular choice with strong FPL managers. If you wanted a draft with Wilson in for King, it might require Fraser to Zaha then a compromise at the back, possibly VVD to x. But that’s only to compare it to your current draft that’s already strong.
Your team has great balance and will be hard to beat with future drafts.

Hi,
Thanks for your tips. Can you review my team.
Ryan (Button)
Robertson-Ake-Coleman (Van Aanholt-Kelly)
Salah-Starling-Sigurdsson/Richarlison-Fraser (Hayden)
Jota-King-Barnes
Well, I am not sure about the forward line though
And with Ceballos, how powerful will be arsenal forward line.
Upper 90 Studios
26/07/19
Hi. No problem. I like the GK+DEF. Attackers are strong overall, I agree with you on possible alternatives up front.
One idea is to see if a cheap 3rd forward for the bench (for Barnes) will allow either an upgrade at the back like Robertson to Alexander-Arnold, then change formation to a 4-4-2.
Arsenal already have a strong forward line, one of the best in the league. Definitely worth keeping an eye on their new signings, although I will probably avoid any new players at the start of the season in case they need time to adjust.
Thanks for the comment. 👍

Hi Bruno
Thanks for reviewing my first draft. Looking to improve and would love your opinion on:
Stick with Kane/KDB/Digne or change to
Vardy/Sterling/Coleman
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Upper 90 Studios
28/07/19
Hi. That’s a nightmare decision! Sterling has been scoring every game this pre-season. KDB is not far behind, but I’m still not completely over his knee injuries last season. Kane might have to do more on his own since Trippier left for Atletico Madrid and Son is suspended.
Digne is crucial and will be one of the most-owned defenders with strong FPL managers. He makes all of my drafts.
I’m currently on a team with Sterling+Digne and can’t make it to Kane without cuts in the rest of the squad. Vardy is easier to reach, but still affects the team balance a bit. Maybe there’s a way to squeeze another £0.5m for Digne (with Vardy+Sterling)? But it will require a cut somewhere.
So close between the two, I can’t choose one at the moment. Working on a new video for tomorrow with my current team that explains more about this problem. 👍

I was impressed by Che Adams goal return last season for birmingham and has carried that into Southampton’s pre season. He will suprise a few people, his finishing in the box reminds of ruud van nistelrooy.

Hi. Doing well, thanks. TAA might just edge Robertson on my most recent drafts. I aimed for both on my latest YouTube video.
You’ve built such a strong squad with the right safe picks, that you can take a chance on an instinct pick or two. It’s the exact type of strategy I’m using. A combo of template big-hitters so we don’t have nasty surprises in the beginning, then still use an original player or two.
I’ll have to read up on Che Adams. Ruud was my favorite player for many years, one of the best players in the box I’ve seen in person.

Do you think Digne is imperative to the satart of the season?
Upper 90 Studios

Yes. At least if he remains a popular choice with strong FPL managers. His output in the attack is hard to match, but it would be even better if Everton signed a top striker.

A lot of pressure on Kelly to start the season now! It could depend on whether they invest some of that AWB money. There is some time to get more info on that cheapest spot. Other defenders are set.
Attackers are perfect. A draft with all 3 of Salah, Sterling and Kane will require deeper cuts, but you managed to get as close as I’ve seen with this structure.
