New plan is to shift in Barkley as a differential against Wildcards on Grealish and Watkins. Starting eleven feels light without the extra high-ceiling player, so Kane comes in (confirmed before Friday night price changes). Pep just rules KDB out for “a few games”. What to do with 1 free transfer and current squad (almost similar to yours, I can see):
Mccarthy (Steer)
Lamptey, Justin, TAA (Mitchell, Douglas)
Son, Salah, Rodriguez, KDB (Bissouma)
Mitrovic, Jimenez, DCL
With KDB out, I really have my doubts in replacing him with another City player, especially if they still don’t have a striker. Right now, I’m leaning to take a punt with Barkley and simply bank 5, 9 mil, but that just feels like too much money in the bank. I also soon have a problem with my defence with douglas on loan at blackburn and both Mitchell and Justin expected to loose their starting places soon.

Hi, no problem! I was counting on KDB being fit, have to work this out for my team as well.
Excellent transfer plan which also opens up a move for Kane in place of Mitrovic (optional). It’s difficult to keep so much ITB when others bring in high ceiling replacements for KDB.
Is Ricardo Pereira back already? He would take Justin’s place. Consider Dallas or Ayling as value replacements, or Chilwell as a step up (tricky fixture GW6).

Which draft is better in the long run and being flexible and covering all bases now that KDB is out!

Struggling to pick one! Overall I might trust the set of players on Draft #1, but it doesn’t mean you can’t take a chance. Don’t know if Marcal has a knock?
I like how you can flip between Kane and Aguero on Draft #2. The defense might be a big light. The question with Aguero is whether he’ll start straight away as he hasn’t had a competitive match since his surgery. No KDB could also affect their attack, although they have multiple threats to score against any team.
1) I don’t have the best assessment on some of these players, hard to point you in a set direction. Bowen made my Watchlist toward the end of last season. West Ham have a good system and are playing well, upcoming fixtures are hard to predict. Trossard and Brighton have been strong in the attack. Lamptey is a threat going forward, but he seems to pick up knocks with his playing style.
2) Still getting a feel for form and it feels like every Gameweek is full of new surprises. Leicester are struggling with injuries to half their team which adds more unknowns.
3) Telles has excellent potential. Not sure if he’ll take over free kicks with Bruno Fernandes and Rashford around! Corners possibly. 🙂 His playing style should translate into attacking returns. His potential is partly dependent on team form, so I’m curious to see if United can bounce back quickly.

I hope you are well, safe and had a good break. Rather interesting out of the box contrarian strategy!….hampered potentially with KDB injury news……or is it…. I believe Pep said that KDB is out for the next “games”, without indicating how much games and I think Man City play Porto in the week, so might be a chance he could be back next FPL GW….🤔
Ive been also a bit bold and taken a big -12 hit to bring in Kane, Son, Maupay and Chillwell….all before price rises at the end of the last GW…..hopefully long term picks that pay off, with reasonable fixtures. My team is as follows:
Martinez, (Forster)
Chillwell, James, Lamptey,Saiss, ( Dunne)
Salah, Son, Podence, (Stephens),( KDB)
Kane, DCL, Maupay
1. Are Podence and James likely to start?. If not, I could be 1 or 2 players short…..
2. Is Dunne no longer nailed on and not likely to start GW5?
3. Any views on Sterling for GW5, contemplating whether to bring him in for KDB, as could be player(s) short? -16 Hit is massive yes, but a)non playing player zero score vs b)transferred player to score at least 4 points…..b) has more upside than downside ?
4. Any other views on my team or players to consider etc? Grealish is the other player I have my eye on besides Sterling, with Grealish being in sterling form🤣!.
5. Captain…..Kane, Kane, Kane⚽️🔥?
With this season not having much consistent players/team form except for a few players/ teams, I am also trying to be bold, building team value and playing with no fear, just enjoying the game….🙂

Hi. I was happy to take some chances and bank the transfer, now I’m also taking hits after the KDB news.
Excellent transfers-in. 👍
1. Don’t know about Podence. James might depend on Lampard shifting Azpilicueta to centerback with Thiago Silva out. If Lampard selects Christensen or another CB, then James could be out again. Frustrating because his points ceiling is so high, but he has to play!
2. Not sure. Tarkowski is fit and Long might be ahead of Dunne. Then again, Burnley conceded 3 without Dunne last game.
3. I feel like I could say I don’t know to everything! It’s been that kind of season with wild scorelines and inconsistent performances making it difficult to make predictions. Sterling has a high ceiling, the question is how City will adjust without KDB. I don’t even know if Sterling is fit! 🤔
4. Aston Villa attackers are in top form and I’ll probably get Barkley in a few minutes. Couldn’t quite swing the funds to Grealish for my team. Barkley’s price allows other options for Reece James if needed. I’m also keeping a close eye on Pulisic.
5. Nice one, haha. I’m currently on Son captain, and I’m getting Kane so I hope they both score! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
My Team Value is just ok. I barely checked price changes in the last 2-3 weeks which is really weird for me. I’m trying hard to wait until closer to deadline before making transfers. So many surprises already and now Champions League every midweek until GW8.

Hi Bruno, made my 2FT as Rashford out for Son and Nketiah out for Brewster before KDB’s injury confirmed. Team as below, bringing Kante off bench for KDB (rather than KWP as not wanting double Saints defence). Now wondering whether to upgrade Kante to Jorginho, Barkley or McGinn within existing funds ITB for -4pts and just keep KDB on bench – or sell KDB for someone like Pulisic. Trying to keep wildcard in hand at this point. Alternative is to keep team as it is. Your thoughts appreciated.

Hi. I’ve also had a change in plans after the KDB news. I brought Barkley in for KDB a few minutes ago and I’m taking a -4 hit to save the Wildcard for future surprises.
McGinn offers some value for the price, but I might prefer Barkley’s positioning closer to FPL points. Jorginho does have the bonus of being on penalties. Without them, he’s normally a 2-3 point player.
Pulisic is another excellent option. I wouldn’t be able to pick between Kante to Barkley or KDB to Pulisic because I can see both of them scoring points this week. It might depend on the future team structure and flexibility that the different plans allow. For example, KDB to Pulisic funds might allow upgrades to other positions later on.

Hi. Thank you. KDB to Son feels pretty straightforward. I like the idea of investing on Villa’s attack based on their form since the end of last season. Even more so after seeing all the injury concerns at Leicester.
I dropped KDB for Barkley a few minutes ago. Grealish was also high on my Watchlist, but funds didn’t allow it without even more hits.

Hi. All great options. I’m captaining Son with his high ceiling and insurance against Kane captainers. Removing the smallest doubts over Kane’s fitness, he had minor complaints during the international break.

Mahrez can work well when he starts. Up to you, it could work. The only small note is Pep has many attacking options when they’re all fit.
Aguero fully fit is one of the best players in FPL with his points ceiling. Let’s see if he’s back without limitations. 👍

Ola. Thanks! Kane is too difficult to ignore on this form. Leaning toward Bissouma for the cheaper spot. He can pick up bookings, but he likes to poach at the edge of the box and shoot. He may score an occasional goal as we’ve seen already.
