FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE 2019-20
FPL Season Review
It’s finally over! I’m slowly coming around after what turned out to be my second worst finish in over ten years playing. Good or bad, I’d love to hear how you’ve done this season in the comments. 👊
Considering everything that happened, I might look back and think of this season in a better light.
- I put up a video or blog post every single Gameweek, except for a small Christmas break.
- There was the league suspension which derailed my Chips and Blank/Double Gameweek plans.
- The website was shut down. Hundreds of blog posts turned off.
You wouldn’t believe what happened with the website if I told you. Maybe one day I can bring back the content from the old posts in another form.
And it’s not all about the Overall Rank. I value your friendship and support throughout this season. Even if you don’t post a comment, I thank you just for being here.
I hope you stick around next season as we improve our skills in FPL. I’m not here just to create content, you can reach out to me anytime. Some of you already do!
Stay in touch and have a great summer break!!! 👍💯 -Bruno
GW38+ Points.
I’m still trying to process how Sterling (8PTS) only scored one goal against Norwich. He had at least a thousand chances (at least) and ended up being outscored by Mahrez (9PTS) who was benched.
Sterling couldn’t even beat the cheapest forward in the game Aaron Connolly (8PTS). Sterling scored 17 points in his previous game before I brought him in, so this doesn’t bother me at all. 🙂
Kevin De Bruyne (19PTS) 🇧🇪 was on a different level. Bruno Fernandes (11PTS) 🇵🇹 the penalty king.
Speaking of penalties, Ings scored from the spot after missing one as my captain last week. Small red arrows GW38+. The end.
Favorite Moments.
Making up 2 million places in the Overall Rank in one month. From November to December, Upper 90 Studios climbed from 2.6 million in the OR to 450k starting with a -12 hit.
Chips.

The chips performed well, although some could argue their effectiveness was reduced with the league suspension. I was excited to use the chips in a big Double Gameweek GW37 with high ceiling players from strong teams involved. It never happened.
Worst Moments.
The league suspension. As a compromise to save the chips, I took multiple hits leading up to a blank GW31 that never came. I ended up selling players who came back to a Double Gameweek!
Managers who planned for the blank with hits while saving their chips for later in the season might feel hard done by the schedule change. By managers, I mean me.
Upper 90 Studios was at its best Overall Rank of the season 211k GW28 before Premier League games were affected by the pandemic.

Hi mate! hope you and your family are all well. Since fixtures have been anounced pls take a look at draft team for gw 1.
McCarthy
TAA, Vinagre, Aurier
Salah, Auba, Armstrong, Willian, Soucek
Werner, Jimenez
Fodder/Ayling, Fergusson, Davis
Itb 0,5
1. Think Willian will fit nicely into Ars attack right away especially vs Fulham defense, he will become Greenwood after gw 1
2. Depending on their performance and form Auba or Mo becomes KDB after gw 2
3. Im planning on playing 352 formation most of the season as i believe most points will come from mid line hence Im keeping 0,5 itb for those unexpected price falls/rises
4. Really want to keep things simple and not overthink this season and armband goes to either Auba or Salah depending on their form pre-season
thx to comment

* and pls comment on Jim/Armstrong vs Ings/ASM combo which one is likely to have a higher upside thx

Even between Jimenez/Ings. Maybe ASM has the higher upside, but we have to factor the increased injury risk with his explosive playing style.

Hey! Doing well, thanks.
Aurier is rumored to be leaving, or at least considering bids from other clubs. Good option if he stays.
1. He might be driven to show his worth to Arsenal.
2. Good plan with the blank GW1.
3. Lots of quality options in the midfield, so getting this right could work well.
4. It can help reduce some stress by sticking the armband on players we can trust. Being safe at the start is a solid strategy.
Strong team. 👍

Hi Bruno. Hope you have a great season mate. Could you please explain the fixture difficulty sheet in a little bit more detail? I mean home vs top home vs mid home vs bottom and the same for away. Can you explain it please? Thanks a lot 😉

Hi. I’ll have to make a video to describe it in more detail. The quick version, all teams are categorized into 3 different categories depending on how strong they are. That’s the left side column with the team names and Top, Middle, Bottom.
If a team is playing at home, they’re in white text color. If they play away, the text color is black.
Using the ORIGINAL cheatsheet and Fulham as an example. Fulham play Arsenal at home GW1. Home vs. Top means Fulham are at home (white text) facing a Top team (red color).
Using Leeds United as an example. Leeds are away at Liverpool GW1. Away vs. Top means Leeds are away (black text) and face a Top strength team (red color).
West Brom play Leicester at home GW1. Home vs. Mid (Middle) means WBA are at home (white text) facing a Middle strength team (orange color).
Southampton play Crystal Palace away GW1. Southampton’s GW1 fixture rating is in black text because they are away, but the box is green because Palace are one of the bottom strength teams.
In a way, you can focus more on the color of the box (green, orange, red) than the text color (white/black). I’m looking for the strength of the opponent, choosing players from teams facing green opponents. Whether the team is home or away is already factored into the rating.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully that makes it a little more clear. I may add this information to the blog post, so thank you for asking.

Hey Bruno! Great video, short, simple and very straight to the point really enjoyed it! still working on my strategy of trying to keep WC for as long as i can by having a longer termish team. decided to go wo Ings upfront are this time so pls share your thoughts on who d you pick and why:
a. JWP (3/4/3)
b. Adams (4//4/2)
