Hey Bruno!
Must have been a big relief to see Maddison score 18pts after missing out on the Haaland captaincy. I’m a big fan of the Foden move now that it seems he’s getting more minutes than he’s ever had before, he’s on my shortlist for a transfer after BGW12. Leicester were a win and lose for me, even though my mini-league rivals didn’t fall too far behind with Maddison in their teams, I had Danny Ward starting for me and scored 8pts (cue Daddy Cool – Boney M.), kept me in the green arrows with 86pts in the end. Haaland as my captain saved me from embarrassment as I took a gamble on Tsimikas transfer in.
This week is pretty simple for me, Walker OUT – Justin IN. the only other cheap defender I’m considering right now is Zemura but he can come in for Tsimikas in GW11/12.
In GW11 I also want to ditch Bernardo Silva (probably will take a -4pts with Tsimikas OUT) and I’m stuck for choice, with Maddison, Zaha and Trossard. I like Maddison’s fixtures and he’s playing with full confidence right now but I also like Trossard new potential position being permanently in the front 3 instead of wing-back. Zaha is an option because of his GW12 fixture vs Wolves and he’s becoming in-demand. I think my preferences right now goes as Maddison then Trossard and then Zaha, if you have any thoughts to weigh in with I’d love to hear it =)
In GW12 I’ll have the luxury of transferring a non City/Arsenal player out. As I have Haaland and Kane as 2 of my FWDs already, I’m starting to debate Toney’s place in my team as the 3rd FWD. If I had Trossard/Zaha in GW11 instead of Maddison I could afford Jesus in GW13 as my 3rd FWD for an overpowered front 3. Or the idea I prefer atm is bringing in someone a lot cheaper and use the extra funds later down the line to upgrade a 4.5mil DEF to James or a cheaper MID like Aaronson to Foden/Anthony/anyone in this price bracket really. If I was to be extreme with the idea I could do Edouard for 5.3mil or Diego Costa at 5.5mil and have them bench warm for me. I’m also considering Maupay, Welbeck or Scamacca. Any thoughts on the Toney replacement?
May the Green Arrows continue,
RedGreg.

Actually the thought has just come to me now, in GW11 if I did Bernardo OUT for Trossard then I could just about afford to do Tsimikas OUT James IN. I guess the question becomes do I want James or Maddison? Wait, Maddison or James sounds less confusing lol

That’s a nightmare to choose between Maddison and James. 🙂 Before Chelsea’s midweek performance, I might’ve favored Maddison. Now it’s a coin toss between the two.
Just remembered, Fofana picked up a knock. I would expect James to continue at wingback, but his potential drops if he slots into a CB position. I might research this a bit.

Hey! Yes, before Leicester played I had already accepted a disastrous score in my mind. Then somehow pulled an extra 24 points which I did not expect.
That’s great to hear with Ward. He made some fantastic saves which was good to see after a shaky start to the season.
Maddison is one of my favorite players to watch recently, can change the game in an instant. Leicester have looked dangerous in their last two games, no Europe helps. Trossard is quality, could be incredible if he develops better consistency, but you’re right about a change in role and the new manager is attack-minded. Zaha can work well when in form.
Same as you, I might rate them in that order if it was for my team.
I was surprised to see Reece James at 88% ownership in the #Elite64 despite no returns since GW4 (a few blank Gameweeks to be fair). Goal, assist and clean sheet midweek against AC Milan. I was thinking had he done that GW9, I’d be down another 20 points to the experts. I have Kane, Foden and Justin as differentials. Mixing in James as a safer play.
I might prefer James over Toney in the long-run, involves a change in formation but it sounds like you can work it out if you go that route. Welbeck is interesting. The concerns are the fixtures and he hasn’t been the best with injuries. I might prefer Trossard if I try a Brighton attacker, maybe not at the expense of Maddison, but it’s up to you.
Jesus and Arsenal deserve to be top of the table.
Those are the thoughts for now. Thanks for the great comment and good luck!

Hi Bruno
I hope you and the family are well.
GW9 was an amazing rollercoaster. Ended with 106 points with Foden, Haaland and Maddison the main stars. Up to 53k OR now and hoping to carry on the 6 green arrow momentum…..
I cant ever recall a match with 2 hattricks and then both in my FPL team!. An unforgettable FPL memory😍.
Interesting to see footage in your video of the Portguese Zidane’s playing days😉.
Did he have a long playing career?
My current GW10 bus team is as follows:
Pope (Ward)
Cancelo, Trippier, Perišić (Andersen, Patterson)
Zaha, Foden, Martinelli, Maddison (Andreas)
Mitrović, Kane (VC), Haaland (C)
1 FT & £1.1m i.t.b.
Can you kindly advise your views on which option below for GW10 is most optimal:
Option 1-Roll
Option 2-Perisic to James
Option 3-Mitro to Solanke
Option 4-Martinelli to Bowen funded by(-4):
a) Pope to Guaita or
b)Mitro to Solanke
1.I was really keen on option 4 a , but not sure if it is worth it a -4. Medium term it does set my team up for some decent fixtures.
2.Pope has been a bit disappointing and not sure if double Newcastle defence is a good idea.
3.Do you see Guaita as the best 4.5m keeper or any others?
4.Option 4 could also be funded by Perisic to a 4.3m defender, like Justin etc, but nit sure selling Perisic to 4.3m is the most optimal funding solution.
Your valued insights and views on the above and your recommendation on the best option would be appreciated?

Hi. Doing well, thanks. Wow I thought you might’ve scored big, I remember you had Foden and Maddison. Monster score! 106 congrats 💯👍
In Portugal I was just starting to play in Sporting’s youth academy in Lisbon, then we moved to the U.S. and that was the end of my pro career haha. I still play for fun sometimes.
Leaning toward James, Option 2.
Guaita could work, might be even more effective around GW12. Agree with you on Pope and double NEW. No real standout goalkeepers at the moment.
I feel the same about the cheaper defenders. Wasn’t confident on current budget options so I went higher to James, especially after seeing his goal, assist and clean sheet versus AC Milan.
Those are some notes for now. Good luck 👍

Thanks for your feedback, Bruno.
I do like James for GW10 and his move standalone makes sense for this week vs s manager-less Wolves.
The only drawback to it is, that James blocks me from bringing in Salah around GW13(vs Forest), due to funds tied up in defence and blocks me from going for Bowen next gameweek or 2.
I suppose the big 1st question is, is Bowen( Ful,Sou,Liv) to ourscore Martinelli(Ars,Lee,blank) over GW10 ,GW11& GW12.
Guiata, does appear to have better fixtures than Pope over next few GWs, which I think could repay -4…..
The 2nd counter big question is will James haul and then become essential over Perisic. Just not sure yet about Chelsea defence long term.
Some tough late decisions🤔.
Good luck, enjoy the football and wishing you big green arrows in GW10!

Yes, all great points and a few unknowns like you mentioned. One of my future plans could drop James around GW13 if I bring Salah back in.
Anything can happen before then, and our plans could be slightly different for our own team structures.
Good luck! -Bruno
