GW12 Review.

Tottenham were massively disappointing when I needed Kane (2PTS) and Son (4PTS, captain) to deliver against Salah. On the previous video, I predicted that Salah’s ownership could rise to over 50% in the #Elite64 league for BGW12. Salah was brought in by 94% of the experts! (#Elite64 ownership stats below)

Manchester United completely outplayed Spurs whose only tactic was pumping long balls to Son and Kane. I thought Conte might play Kane in the midfield to help in their transition attacks, relieving pressure from the defenders and finding Son on the counter. It didn’t happen and I can’t remember a single chance for Son or Kane.

I was fortunate that Salah (3PTS) also blanked. The difference was Salah had opportunities to score with 6 shot attempts, 2 on target.

There were three reasons why I chose Son over Salah for GW12:

1. West Ham was red for Liverpool attackers according to our Fixture Cheatsheet
2. Salah required an extra hit and I was already on a -4 with Reece James and Maddison
3. I wanted to continue taking risks against the experts with a premium differential

The Good.

The main positive was clean sheets for Pope (6PTS), Trippier (9PTS), Justin (7PTS) and Neco Williams (6PTS). This is Justin’s third clean sheet in four games since I got him on the Wildcard, but Leicester are still conceding too many big chances. I feared the worst when I saw Aurier as the cover on Forest’s Twitter team sheet. As it turned out, Aurier and Williams started. ✅

The Bad.

I took a chance on Mount (3PTS) as he had been playing high up the pitch, often unmarked in the box. What I didn’t count on was Graham Potter’s rotation. Aubameyang and Sterling were benched! ❌

Bailey (0PTS). He did it again! He knows he’s about to get subbed off then he jumps into a tackle recklessly and gets booked. Yellow cards are his only contribution to my team and I cannot wait to upgrade this position. Unless something changes with the new manager as Steven Gerrard was sacked.

GW12 Points the results.

Fantasy Strategy.

I am putting pressure on Kane to deliver with three home games in his next four. The concern is he will have to get it done without the injured Richarlison and Kulusevski. If Kane fails to deliver, I may use the extra funds to upgrade my weakest starting attacker (sell Bailey, Andreas bench).
