FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM TIPS FOR 2022-23
FPL GW1 Team
🚨 Final GW1 Team 🚨
***UPDATE: This is it! Only one change from the video. FPL priced the only two Leicester goalkeepers at £4m and I’m taking both (£0.5m ITB). Sticking with Pereira versus Liverpool instead of Bailey with the better fixture on paper. Thanks and good luck!!! 👍💯 -Bruno

Welcome back Bruno! Glad you and your family are safe.
Excited for the start of the season, always a headache when picking my team. Still undecided in getting Reece James or not as he did not participate much during pre-season. Hopefully after watching your vids can give me something 🙂
Cheers from Singapore!

Thanks! Yes, Tuchel is experimenting with formations that may take away some of his freedom to attack. I’ll have to finalize the team, only a few days left!

Any thoughts about Roberson Saka Bailey to Matinellie James and Diaz then can get 5.5 goal instead?

Robertson and Saka are difficult to beat. But I can see the idea with the GK.
I’d place Diaz and James near each other in terms of scoring potential. If Tuchel locks down his wingbacks, maybe they’ll keep more clean sheets at the expense of attacking returns. It could go many different ways, we’ll have to wait and see.
I’m a big fan of Diaz despite him playing for my rival team Porto! I’m a Benfica fan.
Martinelli is the one I have more difficulty assessing. I like his value with Arsenal looking dangerous in the attack.
It’s so close between the two sets of players that it’s possible they could come out with the same total points after GW1.

Hi Bruno
It’s great to see you back, but most importantly you and your family are well that counts for more than anything!!
Last season l ended up at 38k so feel pretty pleased given all the Covid cancelled games etc.
l have just watched your You Tube team a few differences but very similar in terms of the core players and l have gone very template, like most l am only concentrating on the first 6-8 GW’s and then WC.
* l have gone with Perisic, but l might still change, minutes is the worry!
* With James l am not 100% sure how Chelsea will be set defensively, will they play a back 4 or even will James be part of a back 3 which will reduce his returns. l am considering NO Chelsea.
* With 2 Pool mids l think Diaz could be a value player, but this does give me options if someone breaks out and move funds around. Though l have looked at the TAA / Robbo combo.
* l am not sold on Wolves attack but with Jimenez injured Neto looks inform and has high ownership.
* l know your 8m slot is with Saka, but l have gone with Martinelli who did quite well for me last season and ESR is only just back in training, so maybe useful for a few weeks and if say Rashford or 7.0m hits form then it’s fairly straight forward to get him in.
* l have avoided Bailey, he is a form player atm, but l think he maybe a headache to get rid of from GW4/5 and l can see another potential transfer.
* l have flipped and flopped between Haaland & Kane, the former played pretty well at the weekend and if l have Kane l feel l am booking a transfer for GW2 when Spurs play Chelsea and everyone will Captain Haaland and if any injuries happen l am screwed.
RAMSDALE – WARD
TAA/CANCELO/JAMES/PERISIC -N. WILLIAMS
SALAH/LUIS DIAZ/NETO/MARTINELLI – ANDREAS
HAALAND/JESUS – GREENWOOD
Watchlist – Castagne / Doherty / Chilwell / Mount / Maddison /Foden / Rashford to name a few……..
All the best

Hi. Congrats on a top finish last year. 👍
Perisic is a great option, the only question is what Conte has up his sleeve for the wings this year.
Know what you mean with Chelsea defenders. I’m hoping for two outcomes: 1. James continues to be a threat in the attack 2. If he stays deeper, it increases Chelsea’s clean sheet potential.
Diaz has the potential to deliver in the same way Mane did for many years.
Jimenez’s injury is part of the reason for taking a shot at Neto.
I’m going for Saka for a higher scoring threat at a cost £.
I’m using Bailey as a bench filler, unless he can prove otherwise! 🙂
Good point with Haaland vs. Kane. It’s a coin toss between the two.
Maddison and Mount are the standouts from your Watchlist, possible options for Diaz in your team and Saka for mine.
Amazing reading your comment once again.

Hi Bruno
Welcome back! Whatsup buddy, really missed you, your content and our interesting FPL blog chats🔥!
I hope you remember me still😊.
Good to hear you and the family are well, kept you in my prays all this time.
Enjoyed the song. Are you going to bring back your awesome video intro again, really missed it, very inspiational?
Would be great to get your views on some FPL matters:
1. Any reason you chose to start Andreas over Bailey who plays Bourneouth, whose manager has complained a lot recently?
2. Haaland vs Kane. Your thoughts and why you chose Kane? If no issues are you planning to bring Haaland in GW2 vs Bournemouth? Im thinking of going Halaand GW1 to have 2 free transfers for GW3.
3.nteresting choice as 4.5m keeper, Henderson. I see Leicester have currently two 4m keepers, Ward and Iverson. Are you tempted, so to use the extra 0.5m elsewhere?
4. Saka vs Martinelli + 2m is interesting. I have also considered moving to Saka, as might be on pens. Saka & Jesus,Arsenal version of Son & Kane!
5. With the extra wildcard this year, playing the first half season in shorter blocks, how do you think it changes optimal FPL strategy?
6. Greenwood on bench is high owned, wouldnt it be better to have a lower owned starting forward, like Phlange(scored a pre-season hattrick) with Greenwood risk of price drop?
7. What is your view of Darwin? I am a big fan, he appears to have Aguero type vibes, even with reduced minutes.
Would really appreciate your valued feedback, buddy.

Hi. Thanks! I remember and miss everyone from here 🙂
Yes, the regular video intro and music will return for weekly videos. I like the style I uploaded today to show new songs.
1. It’s to be contrarian. Like in the video, I’ll try this idea now and if it doesn’t work, I’ll learn for next year.
2. I finished last season with a bang thanks to Kane, Son and Kulu, and Tottenham raised their levels even higher this summer. I’m catching this upswing in team motivation while keeping an eye on newcomers to the league. Haaland probably won’t need much of an adjustment though.
3. I must’ve missed their addition of the extra £4m GK. Super tempting to start with an extra £0.5m, even if I don’t use it right away. Thanks for the heads up.
4. Yes, that’s what if felt like when I watched Arsenal in person. Nearly every attack was finished by one or the other.
5. Haven’t planned around it yet. In all my seasons playing FPL, I’ve avoided using the Wildcard when the majority of managers plan on using it. Maybe I’ll try going with the flow this year as an experiment.
6. It could be. I’m familiar with Greenwood and I’m hoping he’s given more opportunities after capitalizing on limited chances last season. The following stats don’t translate this way in real life, but his 15 points in 231 total minutes would translate to over 5.8 points per game had he been playing 90min regularly instead of scraps. His average of 2.1pts per match is reasonable for a budget enabler in the last spot on the bench. Assuming his price doesn’t drop!
7. Darwin is a nightmare for me as a Benfica fan, I’ve known him for some time. I was instantly drawn to him for FPL when Liverpool signed him. He can go to the very top with his unique ability, but I’m hesitant to take a chance right away as he’s still young and new to the league. I’ll wait until he’s more settled.
Those are the thoughts for now!

Interesting feedback,Bruno. I’ve always enjoyed your contrarian and out of the box thinking.
I think my team is nearly finalised, just some minor considerations,: Haaland vs Kane &
Saka + Trippier + Ramsdale vs Martinelli +James + Ederson.
Pressers will be interesting.
Thanks for your valued feedback.

Thanks for your comment Bruno!!
Wanted to run something by you, as Leicester now have 2 4.0m keepers l could switch Ramsdale and then upgrade Neto to Rashford.
Although he has some rotation issues he looked very sharp in pre-season and after Ten Hag’s comments that Ronaldo needs to step up his fitness and the Sancho illness last weekend I think Rashford will get the first game or 2 and its in his hands to keep or lose his place. Could be worth risking it with Rashford and if it doesn’t work out then moving to the emerging 5-6.5 midfielder rather than starting with Bailey/ Neto and having nowhere to go to at that price without a downgrade elsewhere??

No problem. Yes, your reasoning for a short-term Rashford gamble is logical. Higher to lower priced is easier.
I checked LEI GKs before the video and it didn’t make sense that they only had Schmeichel and one £4m GK. Rodgers was already talking about competition between the two backup keepers rather than signing a new one.
That’s super interesting now.

Welcome Back Bruno!
In the past you inspired me to create my own fixture difficulty cheat sheet and I’ve consistently been getting higher and higher overall scores. Glad to hear that life outside of FPL are going well again and I wish you and family the best.
So back to business, my pre-season has consisted of me debating between Salah or Son as I couldn’t have both with KDB in the team too. To cut the long story short I’ve landed on Salah but this week I’ve left the team alone. The free time I did have this week turned into travelling to a different city to watch a Europa Conference game in the spur of the moment. So I’ve not touched my team recently but I feel making changes this afternoon will be a mistake. I’d rate my team 8.5/10 imho.
Finding Timo FC:
Ward.
TAA, Walker, Trippier.
Salah, KDB, Rashford, Bruno G, Neto.
Jesus, Toney.
————
Sanchez, Johnson, Perisic, Dalot.
Now my main panic is who do I bench for GW1? I know Perisic hasn’t had many minutes in pre season and Conte said he’s not 100% but if he starts that could be an easy clean sheet and potential attacking returns. Maybe Bruno G goes on my bench because he’ll struggle against a 5atb NOF? Overall it feels unfair to bench anyone. So my question to you is who gets benched in my team?
Break a leg and fingers crossed for green arrows! =)

Thanks! That’s amazing to hear with your cheatsheet and OR improvements 👍 Everything is great now, thank you.
Know what you mean with Son, I couldn’t imagine starting the season without him. I was actually considering avoiding Salah as an experiment, until the Community Shield. He looked so sharp.
Perisic is a top player, but I also don’t know if he’s ready to start straight away. Bruno G feels like the next best option after Perisic and I’d expect Newcastle to start fast in front of the home fans.
Definitely between those two. I’d imagine quite a few strong FPL managers will try Perisic. I’m going contrarian with one starter GW1, Pereira at home vs. Liverpool. Up to you on this one because I don’t have all the info on Perisic.
Thanks for checking in and good luck!!!
